I think what really reaches out to me about "Supporting Me" is how I think about the cutscene in SA2. I remember how Biolizard was initially a mindless beast who only acted on his primitive desires to evolve and grow stronger,and it proactively 'eyed' Sonic and Knuckles. That is...until Shadow steps up and says he will take care of it. Up till the point of the story,Rouge came across a data log about the Biolizard and told Shadow how it was supposed to be the initial ultimate lifeform,but it failed horribly due to its destructive tendencies and unresponsive behavior. So to Shadow,it was like facing a form of his past self if he chose to stay obedient to Gerald's directive on destroying Earth,while also showing who clearly was the superior ultimate lifeform. The Biolizard on the other hand...was just a mindless abomination who only destroyed and grew to the point of it being uncontrollable which eventually led to it being incapacitated and isolated inside the Ark. Now broken free it resulted to its basic programming:"Destroy,Grow,Evolve." Yet somehow,when his 'brother' approached him...that is when the song's lyrics really start to hit. Biolizard doesnt speak and just roars loudly but the song feels like its calling out to Shadow,asking for his "help" by consuming him and growing his Chaos powers to evolve into "The True Perfect Lifeform." Not sure what my mind was thinking when I came up with this but...The song always scared as a child,and now being grown hearing the lyrics,it really adds to the sense of dread of how things could have gone if they did take a turn for the worse.
The "Thanks for supporting me, supporting me" line being the most muffled lyric in the song is honestly very fitting for Shadow, he finds it hard to express that due to his nature but he feels it deep inside, hence why it's so muffled.

This has a similar vibe to What I'm Made Of. They might not be speaking to each other, but are thinking the same as the fight goes on. Shadow has been pulled out of the darkness, rejecting it and clinging onto the fading light that is supporting him even if it's an illusion. The biolizard was never shown the light and it's warmth, only knowing the cold darkness. It's being supported by Professor Gerald and his life support system, however the system is on a time limit or is failing, so it needs to hurry as it will not stand failing his master, the one who gave him life.

The fact that technically live and learn is a remix of this cuz of the leitmotif at 0:52 IMO this song is the theme of the ultimate lifeform not only shadow but the project as a whole it represents both sides of the argument (those two sides being shadow and the biolizard) you can just tell it’s about them and means something the only thing you’re left to wonder is how it’s about them and what it means

OK, real talk: Despite the song being so hard to hear, I ended up respecting the heck out of it.
After i knew the Lyric
