I think what people often forget and underappreciate about this song is that, if you take away the Sonic-based lyrics, you're just left with the chorus, which is a really gripping message about soldiers in war. The reality of constantly feeling glued to your gun, bound to the border you once swore to protect. Even when the enemy is defeated, victory just keeps looking further and further away. It really sells what this team is trying to accomplish, what they have in common and why they banded together, and why they have beef with Eggman. "We all danced in fire" (All three characters have been in some sort of life threatening situation.) "Trapped in this machine" / "Looking through a screen" (The feeling of disconnect with the situation, and feeling like you can't escape.) "Don't know how long we've waited" (Some people stay on active duty for decades.) "As the Eggman's watching" / "As the Eggman watches" (Whoever's in control, in this case Eggman, chances are they're just sitting back, barking orders.)
I'm from Germany. As a kid (about 10 years old) i loved Sonic Heroes. Still love it today. I also always loved the soundtrack of team Dark and shadows storline. And know about 16 years later, for first time im listening again to this track with the lyrics and the ability to speak english. It's really heavy to now really understand how much work is in this Music. And how Deep the story really goes. So i just want to say, thank you creating and uploading this Video. "Trapped in this machine" fits omega as he is still an E-Series which technically he still has a flicky in him. Unlike Gamma, he doesn't seem very troubled by it.

Due to bad dubbing and localization the ending of Team Shadow was butchered, so instead of Rouge asking Omega “Hey, Omega… The thing about Shadow being an Android…” and walking away only for Omega to respond, “In order to create copies… Existence of the original is required.” In order to assuage her worries, and give her hope that Shadow is the real one. Which was later proven true in Shadow the Hedgehog. But in the English localization Rouge instead says, “Hey Omega… Did I ever tell you that Shadow is a robot… And…” only for Omega to respond, “You know about cloning… The original must exist somewhere.” Which is just another example of the terrible localization of the older Sonic games, Shadow the Hedgehog is even worse when it comes to localization since in the original script Shadow never once cusses, nor does he act in any way out of character unless you chose to make him that way. I’d highly suggest you check out the Japanese cutscenes on TH-cam, it might change your perspective on the way Shadow was portrayed prior to the Meta era. And considering the Japanese versions of the stories are the canon versions, it could also help you better understand what the Devs were going for.

Rose and the Chaotix disbanded immediately after the game Sonic Heroes, only the Chaotix reunited only in Forces and that was that. Team Sonic did not reunite at all in subsequent games. So one gets the impression that team dark both united in 2004 and is still in full force, which plays the role of hero in different games in the series with varying degrees of success.

My favorite song. Because my story with shadow here is the same,we both have been created by Dr. Eggman.with a different story. He died once and born again,but I just reborn because eggman took my body from me piece by piece and changed all of it to a robot because I was the only one who knew sonic weaknesses so sonic wouldn't win but I didn't lost my memory and soul so I'm still alive.
