Trump was only in the way for me. I never liked him. I thought there’d be checks and balances. I thought “good, sane” people would contain him. In the 2024 Time magazine interview Trump doubles down that he will make eliminating the Payroll Tax permanent. The payroll tax is the FICA tax that funds Social Security and Medicare. In 2020 a Social Security actuary said without the FICA tax Social Security could only last another 3 years. Not to mention what would happen to Medicare.
I happened to be watching TV a few months ago and he was campaigning. The news showed a little clip of it and he was promising that everyone would be able to get a new house and a beautiful new car and he would get rid of the pay roll tax . I'm like that means no more social security! Most of his followers are older and blue collar workers so these idiots are cheering their asses off to be screwed out of the only income and health care that they work practically all their life for. It's amazing how they didn't figure it out.
