The best cup of coffee I ever had was camping with my cousins. 30 degree weather. No tent. Only sleeping bags. My cousin had a butane cooker and it was freeze dried coffee. Holy moley, welcome to the Driftless Region. I grew up in Houston County, and I’m telling you that part of Minnesota is unknown even to most Minnesotans. Wisconsin Public Television produced an amazing program called Decoding the Driftless, and I highly recommend it. The Driftless Region is truly an ancient and unique area in the world.
I lived in Northern MN in the iron range when we were kids. I remember thinking how pretty the hills were when we went through the southern part of the state. Enjoy your channel!
I love watching your videos so calming haha and my dog probably pays more attention than me sometimes as she just waits for Ellie then Growls or protects her snack haha she is proper friendly and very shy little coward but when it comes to telly if she sees dog she goes crazy funny as it only happens when im home if shes alone she still watches but don't barks or growls 😂😂

When you go on the hikes with El, do you bring a first aid kit and water and stuff just in case (especially for doggo!)? I freaked out @11:10 with the chorus of coyote and dog sounds in the darkness! It was so creepy, yet really cool in a way. Glad you were safe!

I always hear about the fuel pumps on those diesel heaters…you could really hear it in this video. Is it ever a problem? Thinking of installing one in my tiny camper. I’ve seen a lot of methods to soundproof it, one was a little box with sound deadening mats. I’m sure you and Ellie slept right through it!❤. Anyway, God bless🙏
Lol it definitely can be annoying! I think for me at this point, I’m choosing my battles. Heat out there is more important but I like the idea of sound proofing it, might have to look into that! 👍🏽👍🏽

I would love to go to the United States not to see their cities or anything, but to see the country and wilderness. New Zealand has some beautiful scenery and bush, but it's completely different.
I've been thinking about building a tiny camper. I like yours because you can stand up in it. I live in south east South Dakota. You know how "breezy" it gets on the prairie. How does your camper do on the highway with the wind? My only concern would be it tipping over.
I would have been more concerned about that with my old trailer, which was only 4 feet wide…the same width as the cabin. With this new 6.5 foot wide trailer, I wouldn’t be concerned about that. It’s been through some windy stretches and passed by fast moving semis and hasn’t budged. You should go for it! My goal is to bring mine to the Black Hills this coming spring or summer! 👍🏽
Interesting! But what happened if, bears or wolves smell your food cooking? I'm curious how would you handle such situation, if occurred? I realize that you are a experienced outdoorsmen!
If wolves came by they wouldn’t be able to get at me in the cabin. A bear could if he really wanted, but they are b,ack bears around here and I’d be able to spook one away 👍🏽

I would love to go to the United States not to see their cities or anything, but to see the country and wilderness. New Zealand has some beautiful scenery and bush, but it's completely different.

I've been thinking about building a tiny camper. I like yours because you can stand up in it. I live in south east South Dakota. You know how "breezy" it gets on the prairie. How does your camper do on the highway with the wind? My only concern would be it tipping over.
I would have been more concerned about that with my old trailer, which was only 4 feet wide…the same width as the cabin. With this new 6.5 foot wide trailer, I wouldn’t be concerned about that. It’s been through some windy stretches and passed by fast moving semis and hasn’t budged. You should go for it! My goal is to bring mine to the Black Hills this coming spring or summer! 👍🏽
Interesting! But what happened if, bears or wolves smell your food cooking? I'm curious how would you handle such situation, if occurred? I realize that you are a experienced outdoorsmen!
If wolves came by they wouldn’t be able to get at me in the cabin. A bear could if he really wanted, but they are b,ack bears around here and I’d be able to spook one away 👍🏽
