My favorite comment was about her parents, "they come to everything, like EVERYTHING!" Love that. You can feel the family support behind her to get her to this level.
One more thought: Think of how KT mind-melded with Kelsey over the course of their girl rivalry, to become teammates and fast friends.. I wager that Tuohy naturally, but thoughtfully, thinks about Parker in this same frame or hope, because that's how her brain is wired. Together, these two young women could have more impact on women's athletics in America than any of the nameless and pre-forgotten NCAA committees that preceded them.
All the training and hard work paying off now, looking forward to seeing her win more NCAA titles. Parker is the best distance runner.
When you’re this hot, keep competing and break all the records and PR’s that you can. This girl is on Fire!🔥
So is her arrogance and self entitlement…
somebody sounds like they need a hug@@Robertjames525
Honestly agreed. I would go for it even if it means risking an injury. No mercy for the competition.
???

WOW just watched the full race and the last NCAA woman's cross country. This girl makes me think about the movie, the Matrix. There is one scene when Trinity says to Neo, "How did you do that, I never saw anyone so fast, you move like they do", Well the they then were Agents, the they now are Africans. Parker Valby runs with the sense of power, confidence and abandon that one unusually sees Ethiopian or Kenya women do on the summer pro track circuit. This girl is incredible. I think she is going to have a surprise for the US women at the Olympic Trials and she will be one of the only American women who can compete with the best Africans for a podium spot. I haven't seen an American woman run like this since Mary Decker in the mid 80's. If she can remain injury free what an incredible runner she will be on the international level.
I think you might be right. I just hope (and I am sure Katelyn, also, hopes) she avoids injury.
Where can you watch the full race?
SOOOO, your saying she's bumping those BOLSHIVEK style EPO's????
@@christianbendtsen346I think it's on flotrack, but need subscription. Can't find anywhere else.
It doesn't just happen, you got to be dedicated apart from natural talent, she knows things might change over even just 12 mths, she has to focus when she needs to, it's a fantastic effort all the same, love this girls humility and natural fun attitude.....just stay grounded and yourself Parker...America has a beautiful young star!
Good interview. As a fanatical Katelyn fan, I can say that Parker is obviously the real deal and has moved the goalposts for everybody, something KT was trying to do with her 3 indoor NCAA records and her outdoor 5000. Hats off to Parker. Parker broke the ceiling: she made history. She is, on the collegiate level, now Tuohy's true historical rival and it remains to be seen if she can dominate the NCAAs indoor and outdoor in the next six months to equal or eclipse Katelyn. I thought she said at one point "as I just told Katelyn" and having watched the whole meet all afternoon I definitely ID-ed KT at the rail on the finish line during the men's 3000 heats: signature pony tail, red hoodie, black yoga pants and Adidas shoes. I think this is wonderful for NCAA and American athletics.
Now, what will be interesting, if it happens, is if KT signs a pro contract (I wager Adidas, but who knows?) starts training at altitude, and works herself into the Monson-class in the next year: 14:40. This development could kick-start NCAA distance athletics like nothing before. This is a great day; an historic day in American athletics. Where Katelyn Tuohy has been like a building thunderstorm starting in the seventh grade, reaching intensity in the year and a half she utterly crushed NCAA athletics, Parker is a lightning strike, a blast, who has changed everything. How lucky we are to live in this wonderful time.
Totally agree! Good call on adidas btw.. I agree on NCAA distance picking up interest. My daughter is a hs sophomore runner and we are super into it. Her goal is to compete with the best and she does it for joy. It’s a great era indeed.
Super talent wow. Smashed the record!! 🐊
Wow! And I thought I was the only one who liked focusing on moving buns.
😂🤣😄
Delightful young lady. Mom & Dad must be very proud. Well done on the great performance 👏
New Drinking Game:
Everyone has to drink every time Parker Valby says: “I’m not gonna lie...” during an interview.
She lies alot aka sandbagging!
Not gonna lie I was thinking of the same idea
Congratulations Parker! Fantastic race!
What a beast! Just running 1k at that pace is tough! To break 15, Elite level!
Wow, only the young could put up with so much stress. Being a runner now is like working in a high volume fine dining restaurant during the holidays on a Saturday night in NYC.
Oh, and did you notice, Parker had plenty left in the tank. She did not redline today. And, she may have just reinvented (middle) distance training. Just as Katelyn is showing the way to welcome the biological transformation to womanhood by being a gym rat and focusing on strength to weight ratio, Parker may have thrown a paradigm shift, proof positive, toward all the received ideas about what you have to do to run really fast. I like it. I bet Tuohy likes it too. At this level, the handful of elite runners are like quantum physicists who work on their own solutions to yet-unsolved problems, but understand that there cannot be progress unless discoveries are shared. Go Parker!!! Go KT!!!
Playing both sides aye?
@@Robertjames525 I don't take sides. I calls them like they is. Seriously. I'm invested in this crazy obsession for the long haul. Parker's achievement helps me work through my grief for the End of the Tuohy Era. Tuohy's wisdom and deep understanding of competition is my guide star. Now Parker joins her as a true, equal colleague in their common purpose, along with such coach-authority figure personages as Laurie Henes, Dilljeet Taylor and Shalane Flanigan. Parker's and Katelyn's achievements accrue to every woman. They are true champions, and working together and with other like-minded athletes and coaches, they make all women stronger.

It is refreshing to hear that a coach is telling their athelete to work on Base and the rest will follow. Parker Valby has a good coach. Cross training to keep injuries down with base training ... well thats how you will beat the best. Hard to gain fitness on someone unless they gain an injury. Stay injury free PV keep on Building. Long distance is an attrition game.
What a weird mike! Congrats, Parker.
Get after it Parker!!!! Amazing grit and form. Watching her buns LOL!!! And then took off! Amazing athlete! Keep surprising yourself and wow’ing us fans. Much love!
She enjoyed her buns too.
Oh - she is a model. Did not see that before and did not expect it..
This is her year. You rock chick!🇺🇸
1:31 I just looked at the back of her two buns the whole time and it kinda like distracted me 😂😂😂
She's talking about her hair lol
That was pretty funny. I usually get “distracted” in the same manner.
nice,,
This NCAA record places Parker Valby on around 220th best time in the history for 5K. World record is 14.00.21
Just her 3rd indoor race and trains 3 days a week (plus cross fit training)...that is just not fair)))
Just met her in tarpon. Awesome girl and well deserved
Katelyn hasn't been the same since she raced in extreme Austin heat back in May 2023 for NCAA outdoor track finals. So stupid and dangerous to hold this in Austin in May when it's over 95 F!!
Awwweee..... aawwee.... aawwee.... so very fast.... such a inspirational athlete & so damn cute.... is she even real? ha ha god-bless her & her littel cute giggle-bunny interviews i meant to say.... i hear she's a swimmer & likes to snow-ski at times as well... she makes all the baby hearts pop out
future US star on 5 and 10km distances
Way to go girl 👍..congratulations
this kid is ridiculous
She is unbelievable
Amazing❗️
🐐
Where can you watch the full race?
It’s already been posted on TH-cam not too long ago
You guys have no
Clue commentating lol
She has lost weight
It would have been nice to see a little more of her body while Parker was being interviewed. She stands alone in the history of track with her sub 15 minute 5K.
Seriously she is lik3 a goddess
Not bad looking wow
Ya don’t mind me drinking makes me say things that should not be on social media
Very arrogant and self entitled…
What?? No way. She’s delightful. Just tear her down because she’s way hotter and more talented than you’ll ever attract. She’s ALLOWED to be proud of her achievements
Imagine being an old out of shape fart hating on a young women who has achieved more than you in your entire life
I think it’s just the fact that she is being interviewed post-race. Trust me, it’s hard to articulate anything, let alone be personable after a race. I can normally barely think😂.
Never mind, you see m to be hardcore KT fan and a Valby hater. Parker is slaying!
Quite the opposite, actually. You, on the other hand.....
Love Valby's line at 1:30 that see just watched the buns in front of her. It distracted her and just watching them. Ok Now!!! LOL
You know she was talking about hair right?
@@gmaxsfoodfitness3035 No, she clearly said bums not buns. I missed quoted her. "two bums the whole time, I kept watching them". She used the word "two" and then word "them" to describe them. Also look how she gestured with her hands in the shape of a bum.
@@MyContestPix She definitely said "buns". Saying "bums", plural, when talking about just one person is kinda weird. I first thought she was referring to her bum, but after watching the race it's clear she's referring to Annie Rodenfels's hair which was tied up in 2 buns. It would also be weird for Parker "I don't swear" Valby to excitedly talk about getting distracted by a chick's arse for the first 12 minutes of a race haha!
@@GordonAitchJay I can't find the race anywhere on TH-cam so i can't see who was in front of her. Until then I'll concede she said buns. LOL!!
She was behind Annie Rodenfels, who had her hair in two buns.
Parker is from PA and she an Eagle's fan!! Once her name gets out there she will develop a huge fan base.
Last year because of her bad coach, she didn't really excite people, but now she's turned everything around using her natural talents and stunning looks to blow the competition away. I see a Nike deal in her future!! ☺🙃🥰
she already has a nike deal! :)
