One of the best tutorials I have ever watched. You give instructions and ideas, and reasons behind everything you do, allowing the viewer to make their own model and design. So much better than giving exact numbers on everything, and having the viewer make an exact copy. Keep up the good work!

Looks great! You could make the tentacle things in geo nodes by putting the modifier in the center bulb and making a weight paint map for where you want them, or you could use normals and a dot product, but that’s a bit more complicated. Make a distribute points on faces node with the weight as your selection and instance some curve lines on that with a random value for the scale. Then realize the instances and use the color from noise texture with some vector math, you subtract .5 on all axises and use a vector math set to multiply or scale to control the strength. Add a curve to mesh with a curve circle as the profile and adjust the noise texture until you like it and your done. There are some things if the noise looks too similar between all of the curves like capturing the index of the instance before realizing and adding that too the seed, or using the accumulate field node, both of which require a 4d noise texture for the w value. This isn’t really necessary though. Overall, great video and you deserve all the growth you are getting!

I have a question! At around 14:11 the hairs on your tendril are curled. I assume this is because of the Curl modifier, however, mine are still turning up as jagged, sort of like sharp bends instead of curves. What could this be? Searching around tells me this is because of problems with my mesh, but having done this step multiple times, I still run into the same problem. What could it be, and how can I go about solving it? Thank you so much for the tutorial!
9:16 if ur having issues right here be sure that you have your transform pivot point set to EITHER 3d Cursors (if your 3d Cursor is at the world origin) OR median point. You should be able to skip this step if you had scalled your scene down from the beginning instead of using the default cube as is.
