With Shin's revival, and Tao's humility at both the teamwork and the strength of Demon King Piccolo, both of them would be more inclined to continue working with the group, but at a distance, being backup allies to call in rather than fully join the group, as they have seen first hand how a group dynamic is far more effective than the cold-hearted solitary assassin ways. That doesn't mean they give up that life, they just keep it in check under Roshi's radar and maybe modify their clientele for the future to keep the Earth from getting worse like what the Red Ribbon Army's potential could do. Beyond that, Kami may be interested in inviting all six (Goku, Krillin, Yamcha, Tien, Chaotzu, and Yajirobe) to the lookout for training, after making an effort to convince Goku that he is the opposite of King Piccolo as the good half, thus giving all of them a noticeable increase in power prior to the next WMAT where Goku finally claims victory before marrying Chi Chi, if you have that promise intact. Thoughts?

What if Krillin or Yamcha won the WMAT instead of Mark Hercule Satan in the three year gap? (This would bring the spotlight on Krillin/Yamcha from the public in the lead up to Cell and the Z-Fighters wouldn't necessarily need to hide themselves outside of personal choice.)
No actually, in canon they are both listed at a power level of 260 during their final fight. That's why Goku and KP struggle so much and why Piccolo sr. resorts to cheating at the very end.
