- The Bachmann Ho Scale ACS-64 is Finally here
The locomotive is beyond excellent. it has all the (bells) and (whistles). Its so good its like they shunk a real locomotive. Its that excellent. The ACS-64 can pull about nine cars by it self. here I have it pulling seven. The price range is really worth it. Enjoy! also this locomotive has PTC. if you don't press something for a while it will slow and stop.F5 flashes the ditch lights
It's amazing how much Bachmann has changed. 30 years ago they were mostly making cheap low-quality locomotives with those lousy pancake motors, truck-mount horn/hook couplers, stuff like that. Now they make such high-quality locomotives! Even their base-line train set locomotives are pretty high quality, with all-wheel drive and flywheel can motors, body-mount Mark II knuckle couplers, even LED lighting! But regarding this ACS-64, if Bachmann was still doing the Spectrum line, this would definitely be part of it, as it's truly Spectrum-quality.
They are doing better ,but so is everyone else and Bachmann in HO scale really needs to catch up and stop using old tooling and 30 year old drive mechs and shells with only minor mods. They have greatly improved their paint fit and finish,but it is like putting lipstick on a pig unless it is the newly tooled mechs that they have dne a few of ,but discontinued a lot of their great Spectrum steam ,or even downgraded it with mold on details instead of separately applied. It is not on all new and updated as it should be.Only looks.
@@HARPO1ME I know even the current base-line train set-quality locomotives are more improved compared to 30 years ago. Take the current GP40s; they now use 3-pole can motors with dual-flywheels, all-wheel drive and pickup, body-mount knuckle couplers with coil springs, even LED lighting, and this is in the models that don't have DCC or sound!
Ya they sucked bad .They had to change or go belly up.
I want to get DCC for my layout to get this same locomotive because I have been In the cab of 607 at route 128 MBTA/Amtrak.

They did it wrong to solute our Vets.What do you expect from a China owned Company.
Those details on the top are not resistors, but insulators.
And on the bottom where a fuel tank would be on other locomotives, those are battery boxes, resistor grids, as well as other electrical cabinets. Otherwise great review
10:46 what do you meen “change the horn and bell?” Like I could change the type of horn is on it to a different sounding horn?

Yes. You must be on page 3 of the locomotive and the voice will say "funtion page 3" after it does press f4 and it will give you k5la or p5a etc

I'm all about everything 8956 I dont have a pointer. I can you a chopstick, toothpick, etc. But the only thing i had on hand
