That was pretty good, you hid the motion of the overall layout to give the surprise effect of the train coming around the curves and your station approaches were really good. I would've added a platform level nightime approach cause your night lights were spot on. I'm going to be doing something similar but I'll have more trains that line up with the eras of Amtrak. Are you in England?
What are your favourite UK trains? Mine are the class 67 (Belmond Pullman, EWS, Royal Train and DB Schenker), LNER 4-6-2 Class A4 Bittern, and the Avanti West Coast class 390/1 11 car Pendolino.
West Midlands Trainspotting : Telford and Beyond! My fave train of all time is the Pendolino, I also love the class 800s, 68s, 395s. As for steam I love A4s as well (I’ve been bittern in action before!)
Thank you for your video. I too have interest in AMTRAK operations on the NE Corridor. I purchased the Bachmann set (which is what it looks as though you have as well) and an additional 3 cars - Business and First Class to model the typical protocol consists. ( Or at least what I saw to be typical in Philadelphia's 30th street station.) I wanted to focus specifically on AMTRAK commuter trains so I only purchased AMFLEET I cars. I believe that I saw some AMFLEET II cars in your consists. I understand that in addition to commuter trains, regional and long distance routes will also utilize the NE Corridor rails. Am I correct in thinking that AMFLEET II cars are used exclusively for long distance routes with the restroom instead of an extra doorway?
@@JBtrainman Thank you for your reply. Just one other question. I also purchased the ACS - 64 and a 6 AMFLEET I Phase 6 consists of 1 Café car, 2 Business cars & 3 Coach cars . I'm currently residing in an apartment and haven't been able to run the locomotive so I have no idea what the DCC model w/ Sound LOK sound effects are like. Does the 64 make that announcement at the beginning of your video? I've read on the box that it makes engine start up, air horn and proximity bell warning sound effects.
Daniel Murphy the train makes all the sounds you hear in the video and more. the loco comes with a manual with lists all of the the sounds and it’s also online
@@JBtrainman Okay, thank you for your reply. At your suggestion, I looked it at one of the online train retailers. The manual is with the locomotive (and every other piece of model railroading I've acquired) in 1 of 5 extra large moving boxes that I guess constitutes my "layout".
You too like those British railway sloping platforms eh? I’m soon replacing the interior lights in my Acela with LED also so I’m happy to have seen yours, now I know what to expect as it looks really good. You’re purposely not running your Acela in DCC? Terrific video, thanks!
Mark Ferguson, Amateur Organist my layout is based in England, but I run my Amtrak trains on it sometimes. My Acela has since been fitted with DCC however there is no decoder socket in the dummy power car so the headlights and tail lights both stay on.
JBtrainman Thanks that explains it. My tech is from England and I’ll have to ask him if he installed a decoder in my Acela dummy locomotive or not as I don’t remember. What he did do was upgrade the head/tail lights to LED as well as the ditch lights, changed the couplers to Kadee (which I no longer like since in doing so, it caused a big gap between the coaches despite using the shortest Kadee couplers) and what’s left to do is upgrade the interior lighting to LED and remove the Kadee couplers in favour of the drawbar system. You can see my Acela and his work on my channel. I LOVE everything in British railway: trains, buildings, platforms, vehicles, various scenery you name it! I haven’t bought the ACS-64 locomotives as yet and intend on doing so this summer. I’ll subscribe to you if I haven’t already and look forward to seeing more of your videos. Good job!

You are correct, amfleet IIs are used on long distance trains and they only have doorways at one end
