It was a bit hard to figure out some things, like the axe you have to find before the 3rd dungeon and avoid some softlocks you may accidentally get (i.e., if you go from 6th dungeon straight to 7th without going to the village, you'll miss a key item and won't be able to access final dungeon). It was fun nonetheless, I'm doing my part to preserve this interesting game ;)
I was looking into the rom and translation doesn't look so bad, I've seen other famicom games that use the same text format translated before. Plus, I translated the whole game script into a document, lore is actually quite wtf 😅. SPOILER BELOW Zelda (the main character) is the prince of Sidon, but he was exiled because some evil ministers took control of the kingdom so he was sent on a boat and got lost on the ocean. Once he arrives on the island (forgot the name) he meta Kula (the girl at the start) and the old man that tells him about a prophesy and an old demon who just came back to the island. You beat the dungeons, the demon kidnaps Kula and she sacrifices herself before demon attacks you. There you realize inside Kula's body there was the spirit of a Goddess who needed a physical form to hide from the demon while gathering energy, so when Kula dies the goddess release her power in the form of sword beams to help you beat the demon. You beat him, the peace returns to the island, you get into your boat again and return back to Sidon (I guess to face those ministers, idk). Also, in the ending sequence the game literally states that Kula dies 😭.

Well, i even seen a guide of this game all in Chinese but with the possibility to translate it in the language I want thanks to browser service (i still chosen English 🤣) but I've learned more things with you.
@@The-E-Base Does nice code still make games? I lost track of Shenzhen Nanjing in late 2000s, same time Waixing got a bit quiet too so I haven't heard of bootlegs in a while.
Shenzhen Nanjing no longer makes NES games, and Waixing mainly focuses on its educational games nowadays, but it likely that they went to publishing for said platform.

I'm actually surprised this was one of Nice Code's most complex games so far.
I mean, among things as their metal slug, angry birds or crash bandicoot NES ports, yeah, we can say this is their best work 😅
