Never get bored of seeing reactions to this performance. Making people realise what the fans have known for a long time . Su's vocals are great, and Moa vocals just go nicely alongside Su's perfect combination ❤❤😁🤘🏼🦊🤘🏼

When I talk with westerners that have never heard of Babymetal, they often chuckle at their name. I then play them this version of Monochrome and they tear up as much as me. The next thing is countless apologies for doubting the group based on a name. Long live my Queen and her Princesses. Congratulations Momometal. ❤️❤️🦊

I love the emotion in Su's delivery. She and Moa certainly deserve this showcase of their vocal talent. The arrangement borders on the show tune (like you would hear on Broadway). IMHO I think either just the piano or a single violin and cello would have been perfect. And though I might have added a little less flourish here and laid off the pizzicato there (2:47 first take video), this is a beautiful rendition of Monochrome. Baby Metal has grown up.

I agree with you, I much prefer this version. Then again, this version made me appreciate the original one even more. And the live version took it up another notch.
It would indeed be great if they made an acoustic album of their songs. If you look at their concerts, quite a few have an orchestral version of it just before the song starts.

In my opinion Su-metal's strongest point is her versatility, her ability to sing anything. And it seems to be unlimited.

    👍 👍
The LIVE Pro Shot videos of the recent concerts are drifting out (LIVE audio visuals filtered for copyright) and I saw the Pro Shot of Monochrome.
During a break in the song Monochrome Suzuka asks the audience to “Take out your phone!” and “Turn on your light!”. She then says “That’s amazing!” “Looks like stars!”. She then begins to hum the lyrics with 20,000 lights surrounding the stage. Mesmerizing.

Thanks again from Japan 有難う💛。[FYI : In the electric version at the Yokohama venue, the audience (including me) sang that ♪ oh oh ohoo ♪ part with Moa and Momoko while Su humming in the phone lights. What a bliss ! ]
Su and Moa proved that they can do anything. They have forced people to headbang with their heavy music and sharp choreo. Now they can depict various images by just singing and project them into the listeners' brain to move people emotionally. Thank you BABYMETAL. And thank you Koba for your serendipity. Some 13 years ago, you certainly discovered something amazing and sacred for us.
Speaking of the three figures in white hood adding some background vocals, they are certainly homage to BM's girlhood with original three girls. I assume, however, they are the same girls who performed Doki Doki Morning and Karate as clone BABYMETAL (Chibi Metal) in Makuhari and Yokohama this year. The combination of their heights reminded me of them dancing face-to-face with Su, Moa and Momoko.

  • @cuttysark8017
    @cuttysark8017 ปีที่แล้ว +9

This is the best thing BM have done in a while and there are some great tracks on TOO which I like far more than the previous album, Metal Galaxy. Now that BM are a trio again with the addition of Momoko it will be interesting to see how the live performances change and whether they add something like BBM back to the concerts and we can get some Su solos. After that we need to see the faces of the Kamis while they shred...
Su has an exceptional voice with great power, clarity and vocal control and she shows that particularly in the stability of some notes and the dynamics of others towards the end of the song. Moa provides beautiful contrasting backing vocals. In this exposed vocal performance Su is very confident and I think Moa is quite nervous because her voice is usually in the background and I think you can see that in her body language, but she holds it together to support Su.
The song has a familiar BM theme of loss and then hope and being strong through adversity. Some people think that the song is about the WWII bombing of Japan or even has a connection with the Hiroshima bomb because the lead singer, Suzuka Nakamoto, comes from Hiroshima, but I'm not sure about that. BM songs and BM themselves are a marvelous canvas for fans to paint on, but pinning the song to particular historical events is unnecessary IMO.

6:14 this is exactly what she does, I think in part because she was trained to also do dancing she has such amazing breath control and I think she has 'perfect pitch' or something to hear exactly what she is producing, The way she describes things in interviews, I think she has synesthesia.

This is Su showing us a level of technicality and subtlety that we don't normally get to see from her. We normally see her being powerful, but here she understated and remarkably expressive. She's always had an incredible gift for expressing emotions across the language barrier, but it's even more on display here.

Of course, this song is very touching when you consider what the topic is and how wonderfully su metal conveys this song. a kind of processing of the atomic bombings of hiroshima and nagasaki. the voice worthy of the occasion, su metal made me cry considering the sad occasion, no wonder with her divine voice

  • @randyparker4126

The song is about the atomic bombing of Nagasaki, which Is is from. The witnesses said as the bomb went off everything looked to be monochrome ie no colors. Then the aftereffects were acids rain for days that burned your skin and radiated more people.

The whiny groaning noise that Champ makes whenever he sees/hears something he likes, amuses me to no end. lol Also, @ 6:50 I couldn't help but laugh at the thought that if you were to react to something I donno, like a country song(I have no idea how big the country music reaction scene is) And used words like "nasty" to describe what you're experiencing, while also making guttural groaning whiny sounds throughout, I think there'd be some rustled feathers in the comments. 😆

I always thought you had some sense, but the way you butchered this song in your "reaction" makes me question your state of mind. While Su sings her heart out, you keep blaring about how much emotion is in there. And yapping through the whole song instead of pausing ... simply unforgivable. Better to erase this, man. The cringe is simply too much.

Great reaction an outstanding incredible performance. Btw the three white hooded girls (?) in the back aren’t creepy at all xd. They provided the harmonies in the “oh oh oh” parts and could also be a reminiscence to one of Babymetals first shows where they were wearing similar white robes. Either way, Su’s ability to express her emotions with the vocals is stunning and Moa’s warm well rounded voice is a great contrast which makes this performance even better. 🤘🔥🦊
