It's funny how westerners usually dream about seeing babymetal in Japan with all this big production and the japanese fans dream about seeing babymetal in Europe or the US in a smaller and more intimate setting. I've only seen them in a smaller venue and it's really fun to get to interact with the girls if you are lucky and are in the front row. However I really want to see this kind of an big production show live in Japan atleast once.
I went to one of those big shows but i was near the back because i was with my daughter. Couldnt see them at all. Had to watch the video screens in the hall. But next time ill know what to do. Kick daughter out and go in the front;)
I would love to see BABYMETAL in Japan, but seeing them in Toronto this past September, I will never forget it as long as I live. I was at the barricade and able to receive Moa's attention from less than 10 feet away! It's such a surreal moment that still today gets me very emotional. No matter what venue they play, if I can attend, my bank account shall be on high alert! 😊 🤘🦊🤘
Thanks again from Japan 有難う💛。This song was played in the BABYMETAL's North American tour with DETHKLOK that was completed on Oct.12 as many as 29 times. The ♪ oh oh ohoo ♪ part was chanted by American / Canadian audience at every venue in the sea of phone lights. That was breathtaking. Monochrome was performed 12 times in Japan. I fortunately witnessed 6 of them at venues including this very performance. I always did the ♪ oh oh ohoo ♪ part with Moa and Momoko, especially with my loudest voice in April show (filmed in this video) when Momometal became the official third member to initiate the newly born BABYMETAL. What a bliss!
This is epic was when Su asked the crowd to pull out their phones. Wish I was in that crowd. The song you’re speaking of is Ijime Dame Zettai live at Sonisphere 2014 official
I've been in the crowd for Monochrome twice, and will go for a third show next Tuesday. It's indeed quite epic, even with smaller crowds. Su-metal can drain my batteries all day, if she wants.
This video shows the value of hiring a world champion drone pilot to take shots of your epic concerts. One of my favorite songs off the new album, and certainly one of the best performances of it.
*You are right about the deeper meaning,as many people, including myself, believe this song is about Su Metal' home town, Hiroshirma and the A BOMB dropping in 1945*
The lyric mv at the beginning shows what appears to be a bomb dropping and an what looks like an atomic explosion as Su saying everything having no colour even the bright star that shone yesterday a Monochrome firework . Take that with that. Su and her family's hometown is Hiroshima .might be a hint about what the song is about . Although I think it means more than just that . She also sings of Norse Legend of Ragnarok . so it could mean many things . As Su thinks , it was a positive song . she sings no matter how long the night the morning will arrive . One of the words she sings is We Will, which she sings with more emotion and power as the song progresses, and the last thing she sings is Just Smile, which to me makes it very positive also I think it was Su's Grandmother was a surviver of the bomb . But this performance, lyrics and all, made it jump up to being my second favourite. In my opinion; BxMxC demonstrates the creative mind of Babymetal, but Monochrome showcases the heart. You are speaking of the "Miracle of Sonisphere", where BABYMETAL was bumped up. There are videos of the entire set but the song you most likely have been pointed to is Ijime Dame Zettai. Amazing performance and tears me up every time. 🤘🦊🤘
The performance you mentioned where they surprised the crowd is from Sonisphere in the UK in 2014, their first big performance outside Japan, to around 50k mainly British fans who had no idea who they were. React to Ijime, Dame, Zettai (it means Bullying No Forever) at Sonisphere, and even with your high expectations it will blow your socks off. 16 year old Su with Yui and Moa just turned 15, absolutely captivating the audience. An incredible moment to witness.
I saw them in a small venue in Phoenix, and every single person in the theater had their phone out. It was amazing. But a small stage just doesn't do them justice. The Kami Band and the girls were so amazing, and all they had was a (comparatively) small screen behind them and a handful of lights and lasers. The level of performance we were being given was just so far beyond the trappings. The production doesn't *make* BabyMetal, it just suits them. Everyone on that stage deserved for it to be *this* venue. It was like seeing the Mona Lisa hanging in a gas station bathroom. They are extraordinary no matter where they are, but by rights they should always be framed by this sort of spectacle. 🤘🦊🤘
Good call watching the original version first. The 2 versions hit differently. I think you still have plenty of great songs to listen to from this band. It's even more fun when you see how different they are from when they were kids to the young women they are now. I hope they continue for a long, long time, too. When you get the time. I recommend finding out how they even started. Sorry for the comment spam, but I forgot to mention, that the link of another song you mentioned is: "Ijime, Dame, Zettai" (translation: Bullying, No, Absolutely Not). Performed at "Sonisphere UK 2014". You can easily find it with the song title and venue name on TH-cam. Maybe the most beautiful song about what it would look like to see an atomic bomb dropping over your city. Sad and beautiful at the same time. The One-Take piano version is really moving as well.
I've been fortunate to see them six times. Twice in Japan at these big performances, and while it was amazing my favourite times seeing them was in a smaller venue of 5,000 and less where I could be at the front and maybe get a smile or wave from any of the three super ladies. Su-metal giving me her cute little smirk when she saw me waving my pink Sakura Gakuin flag will forever be one of my most precious memories. Thank you for your reaction, and based upon how genuine you seem, and how much you enjoyed the song you have a new subscriber. I look forward to what comes next!

As you said how far we came from lighters to phones but also the camera work and what i mean by that is if you look carefully you will see a drone flying around which took most of the aerial shots.
definitely a bucket list item for me to see one of their big event shows in a stadium in Japan have to say though,I saw them at Southside Ballroom in Dallas this summer, which is basically a thousand man pit with walls and having them right there maybe twenty feet from me, pinned between people freaking out nonstop for an hour and change was absolutely wild
You can only have fun with an audience like that. And I think it's just great that hardly anyone stands there with their smartphone the whole time. (And yes, of course until Su asks everyone to switch on their lights. 😅) Everyone is going crazy and partying. It's as if they're literally part of the show! That's one thing I've noticed a lot in videos of concerts in Japan in general.
The story about "Being pushed to the Main Stage," Is fact. 1/2 the crowd showed to to "make fun of them," instead they gained more fans. That whole show is on TH-cam: they brought it. 🙏🏽❤
Awesome! This is one of my favorite performances by Babymetal! You can see Su almost tearing up herself at the awe-inspiring sight of all those loving fans at 11:14! You mentioned Metallica: They are big fans of Babymetal, who has opened for Metallica a number of times. Lars said he couldn’t wait to introduce his wife to them. Also, the picture Babymetal took with Metallica is just adorable lol. The girls were also heavily inspired by Metallica. Su, Moa, and originally Yui, became Metal fans after watching a Metallica concert when they were first introduced to the genre. In their song, “BABYMETAL DEATH”, the opening riff is an homage to Metallica’s “One”. And at this song’s performance at Legend 1997 concert, the closing sequence was an homage to an And Justice for All Concert with Lady Liberty. Rock on!! 🤘🦊
"They are big fans of Babymetal, who has opened for Metallica a number of times." BABYMETAL never toured with Metallica, but they did open for them in Seoul, Korea in 2017. Other than appearing at some of the same metal festivals, that's the only time BABYMETAL opened for Metallica. They did have BABYMETAL record an introduction for the Japanese release of their 'Through the Never' movie in 2013.
Great reaction. Hey, the world could stand a little more of this kind of “emotional”. When I was going to concerts we were told to rub two sticks together.
So the song monochrome is about after the bomb was dropped. And I can't write. Can't remember if I figure it's error it was a tree that survived when the people came up out of shelters for the underground, all they could see is monochrome. Put this tree survived and it was by Buddhist monk place. Don't know the whole story but it fascinated thanks
Please react to these two songs from Babymetal Death legend 1997 complete and IINE pronounced ee-nay they're older must watch videos please react to them both thank you I really need to see the reaction on your face when you watch both of these 😂
Wrong video, dude! Just kidding! When you get a chance tho, please check out the MV for this one. There's no babymetal but the imagery is really impactful. It takes the song to another level. When you do, keep in mind Su is from Hiroshima!
This is not the original, this is the live. Nornally I wouldnt really care. But this is one of tvose where the video is almost as important as the song. Highlights the content 10 times over. Once you got that significance, you can retain it while watching the live. But you cant do it backwards. You only get one first impression.
Glad you are fan but pausing the song is THE worst crime to music. It is MEANT to be listened as a whole, because music requires your memory. Its also painful to watch. Don't do that, just listen👌
This isn't the first time they have used the whole "lights" gimmick. In past concerts they would issue out neck braces/wristbands etc. And each item would have a LED in it that the tech crew can turn on/off. And they would do so for dramatic effect. Prime example: "In The Name Of." @ Legend S.

BABYMETAL never toured with Metallica, but they did open for them in Seoul, Korea in 2017.
Other than appearing at some of the same metal festivals, that's the only time BABYMETAL opened for Metallica.
They did have BABYMETAL record an introduction for the Japanese release of their 'Through the Never' movie in 2013.
nice reaction.all hail the fox god...

Holy Shit! pretty wall sums it up, eh? :)
Monochrome's song commemorates the Hiroshima bomb which destroyed Su_metal's family
Su's family wasn't destroyed by the Hiroshima bombing.
She did have a grandparent who was a bombing survivor.
Song about the Atomic Bombing of Hiroshima.. 💥🔥☠......... 🌱🌼
like ttheir a lot!
I've always wondered how much they actually make after all the money they spend on those venues
There is a moment, 11:13 in your video, where you get a glimpse of Suzuka, the girl who loves to sing most, rather than Su-metal the metal goddess.
This is not the original, this is the live.
Nornally I wouldnt really care.
But this is one of tvose where the video is almost as important as the song.
Highlights the content 10 times over.
Once you got that significance, you can retain it while watching the live.
But you cant do it backwards.
You only get one first impression.
Music is great. but the voice has to go.
Glad you are fan but pausing the song is THE worst crime to music. It is MEANT to be listened as a whole, because music requires your memory. Its also painful to watch. Don't do that, just listen👌
too k-pop for me
This isn't the first time they have used the whole "lights" gimmick. In past concerts they would issue out neck braces/wristbands etc. And each item would have a LED in it that the tech crew can turn on/off. And they would do so for dramatic effect. Prime example: "In The Name Of." @ Legend S.
