i'm 72 with 2000x1 to play with; great bike, I enjoyed the tutorial. If you tie a piece of string to the fuel pump cable before extract fuel pump makes for easy reinstal.
Hi I did my pump and regulater and I want to check voltage to the pump, I see where the black lead for tester goes but where is the red one going? Great video 😎
Thanks excellent tutorial. Do they have a new seal and strainer only kit? My seals are old and I have to remove the pump to clean out the tank. Black fuel from age. I'm sure it's clogged the injectors and sock strainer.
Yeah, that can be hard 🙈 honestly we just change them early. We have customers what drive very long distances for the service and they say better do it than get stranded. In general when the pump got its 10 or 15 years, it had done its duty. The bike in video had the first pump, but allover just 5570km in the 22 years. So it’s definitely the age what kills not the mileage.
@@NCCRSweden That is interesting about age being the problem. My X1 has 32K on it. However l have another 4 fuel injected Buells, so I guess I better buy some more fuel pumps. Lucky the fuel pumps are the same in all models.
Hello. Thanks for sharing this video. When we removed the fuel hose from the pump, is there a fuel leak? I have X1 and this question is very relevant for me)) In my case, fuel is constantly leaking, as it flows slowly.
I have an 02 White Lightning that won't start. In fact the ignition switch does nothing, except once the "breaker" resets. Hit the starter button and it all goes dark again. Any common electrical short locations I should check first?
I followed your same steps and when trying to start the motorcycle it did not start, I checked that pressure came out of the fuel line and it does not come out but if you hear the pump working, I checked everything again and it is well assembled, do you know what it could be?
If the pump really works correct and build up no pressure, there might be an internal leak at the pump or something is clogged. The system components are not too many and it’s quite simple to build it up external and have the pump in a bucket and check if the injectors spray.

I’m so glad to see people and companies working on these bikes
Thank you really enjoyed your video.
Excellent tutorial! Working on getting my 1999 Race Stripe back on the road after a 7 year rest period.
Thank you both. For the video.
Well done thank you both!
Many thanks for providing an excellent tutorial!

Yes both is available separately.
Perfect. Mine just failed. Had to push home. Lucky only 1.5km.
Nearly killed me though at 65yr old.

Question. On my x1 lightning the wires are bad off… I was wondering if there is a whole fuel pump assembly available. I can’t seem to find it
Only used as we know.

First guess, battery. Check with load tester.
