Sorry I missed this live, but I have a very good excuse. My Mrs. threw a party last night for my 49th birthday (it's today actually, but, today's Monday...). I had to attend, obviously. No amount of "But it's Steven's live-stream night after a fortnight!" had been enough...
Awesome video! I love this device but the controls have too much lag for me to enjoy...and I made sure there were no other 2.4GHz devices getting in the way!
No, you will never get used to the lag. The latency issue is the reason most of these retro consoles are completely pointless, the old games relied on precision and rapid reaction.
@@retroCombs Fingers crossed that might work better for you. Just saying from my own experience since the Wii-days, these old-old games are not on peace terms with new consoles. I tried to play games on my TheC64 through my Acer Predator 27" 270Hz 1ms monitor, and there was still horrible latency. TheC64 has more use than only playing games, though...
@@TheRealCheesemakerI'll continue to Futz around with it and see if I can find a way to reduce the latency. If not, it might not be the answer I am looking for in our living room for retro gaming.
Yup! My streams always include new to the channel items and updates for regular watchers. We like to think of it as a computer users group meeting which is why I also spend time with the folks in chat sharing their recommendations and memories. The feature topic for each stream is usually a few minutes in which is why after the Livestream I include timecode markers so post Livestream viewers can bounce around if they want to get right to the subject at hand. Hope you hung in there, or found those time codes and got to the info you were looking for. Appreciate the feedback.

And you were exactly where you should have been! And you saved me from having to sing happy birthday to you. 😂
Hvala!
So kind of you! Seems I should have sent you something for your 49th! Happy Belated Birthday.

It's odd. I did notice some lag for some games and not for others. I need to plug in a USB-C cable and see if this helps. Thanks for the kind words!
The lag seems only to be on certain paddle games or at least for me anyhow, not tried with a cable yet
Agreed. The lag wasn't nearly as bad with the joystick games. More testing!!!
Wonder if a firmware fix will be realised to fix it
@@darrenhayward4340 That's my next step. Not sure I have the latest. Have to log out my Windows machine to install. Ugh.

Do we think the lag is reduced when using the USB-C cable???

30 minutes in and still haven’t gotten to the subject of the streem
