Yeah, I'm thinking of getting the watch 7 instead of the Ultra, even though the Ultra has been growing on me, I tend to go more for the classic and standard design. The Ultra is a "new" spin from Samsung, even though they took a lot of inspiration.

Let's remember that Samsung's first watches were rectangular. Apples ultra wash is a rectangle. With a rectangular face. Samsung's watch is a square with the same circular face that they've been using for years. These watches in no way whatsoever look alike. In absolutely no way. Let's also understand that orange is the international color. How many different features do you think each one of these watches will have? They literally all have the same general function. Let's also add that Samsung doesn't have a rotating button though because it spins around I think there will be some functionality apply to that eventually. There's also offer sleep apnea and the energy settings neither of which Apple has. I literally feel like this is a guy thing because you never hear women going on about this kind of dumb crap. As a graphic designer for the last 30 years I went through the Mac versus PC nonsense when we were all using the same software and producing the same work. Let's also remember that if Apple was so independent they'd be making their own screens instead of contracting Samsung to make their parts. Well darling , you can say what you want , but none of Samsungs other watches currently look anything like the Apple Watch Ultra , but regardless of the technicalities , the Samsung watch does have a very similar style to the Apple Watch , clearly it has taken many of the same attributes the Apple Watch has , 100 metre water rating , etc, etc , to say Samsung has not built a watch that’s aimed at the very same market with almost identical features is disingenuous. Yes and go see it in person if you havent. I went to an ATT store for a phone issue and saw the watch and was like oh this looks way better in person. To the point where I wasnt gonna upgrade to it from my 6 classic to yea I'm upgrading (batter life being the main reason).
Wow! Samsung Ultra looks awesome. Samsung Ultra looks more rugged than the Apple Ultra. The display on the Samsung Ultra looks so crisp and clear. In the dark the Samsung Ultra is so bright compared to the Apple Ultra which is very dim, hard to see. Samsungs first smartwatch they released back in 2013 was square, then Apple released their square watch in 2015 copycats. Samsungs new design round with square looks so nice. Both watches look nice. Samsung is the winner for sure.
The Galaxy Watch Ultra isn't rated for diving. 100m water resistant is good for snorkelling at most. Do a quick google search on what 100m Water Resistant actually means. On the other hand, the Apple Watch Ultra is rated to 100m WR & 40m for recreational diving and also has a depth sensor and water temperature sensor so it can be used for actual diving without issue.

AWU can be hard to read all the small text I found, whereas the Samsung looks far easier to read and get to the data faster 😊 surprising look similiar in watch sizes

I've said this before and I'll say it again. The Samsung Galaxy Watch Ultra is the superior piece of hardware. It just sucks as it's tied to Samsung Health which has a tenuous connection to Health Connect from Google. Often ignoring syncing data from other workout apps. If I knew my Peloton app would sync consistency and with all the data from the Peloton app being tracked. I'd stay with Samsung in a heart beat.

Samsung came out with the first watch long before Apple, Samsung built a sport watch about 7ish years ago that the ultra W7 takes its design queues from, the orange strap is now considered a near standard for diving and for this reason they used the orange for visibility it has zero to do with apple. So remember Samsung has built watches longer than Apple. I am not an apple person but I feel both watches are quality gear.

This design originated from the Galaxy Gear Sport. They simply refined it and enlarged it. I agree that the orange band and side button appeaes to be influenced by the Apple Ultra watch, but orange isn't exclusive to Apple. Galaxy Gear was first with square/rectangle face with an orange band. Samsung did it first. Nevertheless, they do not resemble each other at all.

I like some Samsung devices, BUT on the other hand, seems their identity is made up at the expense of other’s ideas on some particular products. How extraordinarily difficult is it for them to be unique in their own way without underestimating intelligence of consumers of where they got that idea design and name from? Good video. Samagyng had this similar design over half a decade ago with thr gear2 series watch. This is a iteration of that. They def copied the band color for marketing purposes as apple probably sells way more of their watches. Not a big deal either way. Samsung needs to elevate their software though.

How accurate are the sensors though? They CAN track things but are they finally useful? Samsung has a history of being absurdly innacurate with any health readings compared to apple

Both Apple and Android have gone back and forth copying each other for years in one way or another, I just feel like when Apple does it they kinda get a pass. As far as the Galaxy watch and Buds3 Pro are concerned they're both different enough from the Apple watch and Airpods to not have to justify them so I'm not really sure why it's such a big deal. Even if they were exact clones I personally couldn't care less who copies who as long as the stuff that's released is good, and both Apple and Samsung release good products.

The biggest flub Samsung made with this watch is taking away the rotating dial, everyone’s favorite feature of the Classic version.

They probably bring it back for the 8 version. Rotating bezel wouldn't make since for what this watch is doing

Apple went as far as to take the "Ultra" branding from Samsung. Same Samsung who was first to introduce smartwatches to the US market. This watch looks like an evolution of the Gear S3 Pro.

I use Galaxy and Apple and the great thing about the old Galaxy watches was the fact that you could use any watch band.

You don't know what your talking about! Samsung came out with the first watch long before Apple, Samsung built a sport watch about 7ish years ago that the ultra W7 takes its design queues from, the orange strap is now considered a near standard for diving and for this reason they used the orange for visibility it has zero to do with apple. So remember Samsung has built watches longer than Apple. I am not an apple person but I feel both watches are quality gear.
Yes, I have familiarity bias, but it’s not hard to say, the Apple Watch is better, with the exception of the alternative colours that Samsung comes in.
This design originated from the Galaxy Gear Sport. They simply refined it and enlarged it. I agree that the orange band and side button appeaes to be influenced by the Apple Ultra watch, but orange isn't exclusive to Apple. Galaxy Gear was first with square/rectangle face with an orange band. Samsung did it first. Nevertheless, they do not resemble each other at all.
Orange is a colour associated with safety.
Orange is a typical diving watch strap colour due to visibility... The design is a cushion design, which is a classic watch design from 1920s. Let's not get carried away. Also... the orange strap is not the only strap available, but agreed a bit of marketing possibly. Ultra is a word that's been in Samsungs vocab for a long time and is not the only company to use it... but Apple... Anyways there are now 2 'Ultra' watches which is a great thing for consumers. The best of both ecosystems. We know neither play with each others ecosystems well/ at all.

I like some Samsung devices, BUT on the other hand, seems their identity is made up at the expense of other’s ideas on some particular products.

Apparently "lasting a long time" falls short of many peoples expectations ..... speaking of battery life get your mind out the gutter 😂. I have the galaxy watch ultra and expected 3-4 days minimum, but get 2 days and 10 or 15 hours at best.
Good video. Samagyng had this similar design over half a decade ago with thr gear2 series watch. This is a iteration of that. They def copied the band color for marketing purposes as apple probably sells way more of their watches. Not a big deal either way. Samsung needs to elevate their software though.

If you can pick up the 7 Ultra for $224.99 after trade-in and additional promo discounts it's not a bad deal.

Both Apple and Android have gone back and forth copying each other for years in one way or another, I just feel like when Apple does it they kinda get a pass. As far as the Galaxy watch and Buds3 Pro are concerned they're both different enough from the Apple watch and Airpods to not have to justify them so I'm not really sure why it's such a big deal. Even if they were exact clones I personally couldn't care less who copies who as long as the stuff that's released is good, and both Apple and Samsung release good products.
