I'm in love with how the "other models" are photogrammetry dot clouds, which as far as I remember can't really be rasterized with traditional 3D telemetry and aren't actually technically models at all, just a collection of points with no connective tissue.

    • @bahaalkhateeb2994

@@bahaalkhateeb2994 I’m not familiar with making 3D models from photoscanning, but as far as I know, they usually have a really bad topology (right?) This could mean that the “other models” look much better then the main when they’re rendered, but they’re actually a mess in wireframe too.

The ones I see aren't point clouds, I'm about halfway through the video - they are full meshes
Even then a point cloud is really easy to make into a mesh, it's just connecting the dots and takes about 5min for reality capture to do

  • @shizukaaaa

I feel that this is about someone online who is trying to portray their lives as something perfect to others. It started due to comparing themselves with "other models" (or the people who seem perfect/normal around them). The person thinks they aren't normal or not pretty and that they are built all wrong with weak points. So they just lie to themselves and others that they are someone with nothing to be insecure about. (Apply filters, lie about life etc.) They get so deep into the lies, they start to question them themselves. Even if the song is just about rendering or a differen't metaphor, I think it's still a really beautiful song!

I used my rusty knowledge of blender and skipped around in some short tutorials to write this so you can get a better head start.
New model, A to select everything, press delete to clear.
      Add -> mesh -> cube.
Tab to go into edit mode, or press ctrl + tab to get a context menu and select it from there.
Change to face select, select face, e to extrude, and move mouse. press z, x, or y to restrict along global axis, twice along local, and thrice to release restrained movement.
Pick and pull as you like, ctrl+z to undo, ctrl + shift + z to redo mistakes as you need to get the rough shape you want.
(*use mirror modifier to make your life easier, select a face on the y axis, move it to center, and delete face only, then use mirror modifier and enable it in editing to make life a breeze, just saying...*)
Apply mirror modifier when you're done blocking out the shape you want, go to sculpt mode (use context menu, idr shortcut or if there is one), and enable mesh symmetry on Y axis (top-right of screen, left of outliner). Refine shape as you like, remesh a few times if you like (or don't, up to you).
Go back to edit, press A to select all vertices/edges/faces/whatevs, UV -> smart UV project -> OK
Go to textuire paint mode, go into properties editor (right side of screen), Active Tool and Workspace Settings (screwdriver and wrench icon). Texture Slots -> Mode -> Single image. Press New, name whatevs, press OK. In viewport, press and hold Z -> select Solid (or press 6), and start painting.
Then you've got a done-ish model. Milage may vary based on experience. You'd be best off looking at a few tutorials to get a better idea of what to do. Good luck!

    my skeleton
    my wireframe
you can see inside of me
    behind the scenes
    all the seams
    exposed so visibly
    let me pull myself together
    for this, the final render
turn the lights on, guess I'm good to go
my skin so shiny, crystal clear
    spec is set to max
    but deep inside
    i cannot hide
    the vertices I lack
    I'll try for something better
    for this, the final render
turn the lights on, guess I'm good to go
    but I don't know
    which one is me?
    the wireframe or render
    how can I be
    so pointy yet so tender
other models have it so together
while it's so hard for me to just remember
    which one is me?
    the vertex or the image
    how can I be
so rough and yet so finished
other models have it so together
while it's so hard for me to just remember
modifiers hiding all my weak points
and the ways I'm built all wrong
i'm trying everyday to fix myself
but sometimes I still don't know
    sometimes I still don't know
    which one is me?

Much like BDG's "this song is not a metaphor" this is such a great metaphor for insecurities and anxiety of not knowing what's going on at a personal level.
