I wonder how many viewers like me don't even own a land rover but have followed this series for the entertainment value......oh yes good use of your foot fingers and great editing.

Excellent time travel!! Ha ha!! Lots of feet being used. 😀 Great job! I put the felt washer when I replaced all my drive flanges too. When it took the old transfer case flanges off it did not have the felt seals.

I really have enjoyed watching your video's. Very amusing. Having owned and maintained an old landrover I also can appreciate the effort in trawling through manuals and forums looking for any kind of confirmation that its going to be alright. Looks right to me lol!

G’day Mr Foreman, brought back lots of memories there,I haven’t done a”speedy sleeve” in a long time, and if it makes you feel any better,I’ve spoiled a few of them as well.Good old sardines in a can, with the special key to open it 👍🙂Used to love doing that when I was a young fella, hahaha.
Some mighty good progress this episode, and I love your version of the Tardis, might have needed some seasick medication before embarking on your journey back in time, never mind, you survived.See you next time, best wishes 🙂

Your 1957 Series 1 Restoration videos are spellbinding, Gav. Not a joke. They really are. The entire project so far reminds me of picking fly shit out of pepper on a massive scale, as if the flies were about 3 times the size of a full-grown elephant, and everything else was in proportion. Your time travel machine took me completely by surprise, and all I can think to say about it is, "Holy shit!" Keep on keepin' on, mate!

Another informative video, a little hint when fitting speedy sleeves use loctite bearing mount on the the worn spot. As the sleeve goes on it will get trapped behind the sleeve in the wear groove and minimise the distortion the seal imparts on the sleeve in operation. Without loctite or liquid metal under the sleeve it has been my experience to find the speedy sleeve take on the shape of the wear groove in a short period and can sometimes leak.
As always looking forward to the next episode, you and Seriously Series are a great source of knowledge and the odd laugh.

Hey Gav. More wondrousness from you and from your video-graphical enterprisement shows that someone has been at video school. Well done once again.
If I may be so bold, when you next visit your spectacle smith, you might ask about graduated lenses. They will put all of your range of eye straighteners into one nose and ear holding frame device.
Best wishes to you and yours as always. 👍🏻🙏🦘

Me and my 13 year old son laughed out loud on multiple occasions during this very welcome video. Thank you for another terrific episode. What motor will you put in S1LLAR? I have a spare Holden 186 here in NZ. My S3 has a 186. It's running way smoother since a really good, old school mechanic "listened" to it while making adjustments. Timing will be reset on Friday. It's a lovely place you have to work; nice birdsong behind your mellifluous tones. Well done Fella and thanks again. All the best.

Spam tins with a key Mr Foreman.... remember them well, the bloody key would break about a third down the rollback leading to frustration and cut fingers.

A worthy addition to the arsenal of videographic wonderments Mr Foreman and Wilms (of the Summer variety).
The intricky issies of the goings~ons behind locked doors, darkened farmshed workshops~of~mystique, and other stuff 'left out' either by missed~adventures or deliberateness necessity, should always be brought to light; exposed out into the bright sunshinings of the great Outdoors. {i.e. show us mob}.
This is an essential critical requirement; to allow {us mob} fair honest methodolical critique. Of "The Elephant In The Room!!".
The elephant being the otherwise hidden agendas of "Back~Room~Mysterious~Boffinings". And we can't have that. Not here.
PS I nearly contacted you yesterday to find out how you're going. Not so much the actual progress here (which BTW is excellent :) ), but rather, to hear how life's going over there for you guys. Take care.
I really enjoy the nitty gritty in depth diagnosies and processes you so ably share with us. :)

Did the Turdish blow out your CGI budget like in the Hollywood block busters. This episode popped up in my subscription about 10 days ago but I left watching it until I could really sit down and appreciate it. Do you have a follow on project in mind for when you finally finish, I am concerned that there will be nothing to look forward to when it’s over!!!

    It's been a while, Mr F.

  • @Anderzander
    @Anderzander 2 ปีที่แล้ว

One thing I’m not sure if you did … The expander unit is supposed to float slightly so it self centres. The S1 user manual described backing off the Simmonds nuts 1 turn from tight.
Not sure if you did that? If not it’s easy to go back and loosen them off 👍🏻
