I am glad that someone aka you did buy this boat. I was thinking about myself, but it was the one that was next door I was more interested in, that went very quickly. What I was thinking of doing was taking the engines and prop shaft and props out and selling them and replacing with 2 Hanson water jet propulsion, driven by 2 400hp electric motors and fit in a 1lt 3 cylinder flathead kubota diesel generator. Good luck with the repair job, it should not take long
Im so pleased and happy to see the kids, especially Mason, involved in this project. I guess it took a more modern boat to get them excited. Nice family.
i been following the rebuild of a schooner in Brazil (Yaba), nice couple Ben and MP, Ben is half Dutch i think and British, MP is Brazilian, the boat builders are pure magic, using the most basic tools to do the most intricate work, recently they got a local guy to straighten their prop shaft, what was amusing was th chap worked on the same machine years gone by, the company was due to close down, so he purchased the machine and continued his work
The smiles on your faces say it all. It's bringing back great memories for me when I was working on the boats. Its a great find and not too much work. Well done😊
You could try the Lhs (from rear) shaft (that came out easily), fitted into the Rhs P bracket to motor, to see if its the (original stiff to remove) shaft or the P bracket ismis-aligned/ bent. Just rolling the Shaft on a flat surface will indicate if its bowed/bent. As you know, there are companies that can roll straight M/C front forks, so they maybe able to assist?
Awesome seeing both of the kids there not only spending time with you guys, but involved as well. My they have grown so much since the beginning. Love the new boat. It's the type I'd like to have.
Nice weekender and training boat. Good job. I noticed part of a line cutter system on the strut. Make sure you put them back on before you put the props back on. Not much damage for hitting rocks. Also a great fishing platform. Way more room. New name? Have fun and enjoy. I will watch from here. Cheers. Dar
Utterly brilliant. I love the new boat and its fantastic too see you both so happy and enthusiast. I cant wait too see what you achieve with her .Massive congratulations ❤
Great looking boat for its age. Remember to check the condition of the struts. The boat took an impact that bent the running gear so the struts may have been bent too. Happy boating.
Having watched a number of other boating projects, I'd recommend thoroughly checking everything to do with oil supply and engine cooling. Congrats, boat looks amazing!
I absolutely love this vessel and I couldn’t think of anyone who deserves it more than you pair, you’ve shown us all how much committed you are with all your very hard work on Sarinda. She will be well maintained and do you all proud, you mentioned about marking what you’ve taken off re the rudders props and shafts, I noticed she has right hand and left hand props you do need to make sure they go back like that, I had a lot of trouble with one once so I hope this help’s and all the very best and calm seas for your future.
Good to see your kids helping you it will give them experience and you will enjoy having good times with him love to see kids helping love your channel still ship happens
Simon seemed like an old pro at pulling on shafts. A mighty big shaft you have Simon. Good to see your kids, it’s nice of them to help mom and pops. Take care you guys I’m really jealous ❤
Better have a professional check alignment all the way from reduction gear through struts and check or replace cutless bearings as well. There is a good chance the rudder post bearing is tweaked and may leak in addition to strut mounting bolts bent. That was not a minor encounter with a soft bottom.
I’m so envious of both of you. You are so lucky to have what you have, make the most of it, both of each other and what you have accomplished, you are a beautiful couple and are living to the max. Love watching your videos, your so down to earth people and you inspire me 😁, I commend you, I wish you every success, and look forward to your adventures in sarinda
Oh how thirsty those engines look to be! Great lookin boat seems in decent shape for a 44 year old boat? Good Luck with her, family time can't be redone so enjoy the kids while you can! 😊
That is some nice catch. She looks awesome. When it comes to anchors, the captain of a sailboat on another channel I watch like to says, "The bigger, the better.". That one looks a bit lite to me.
Ship Happens no more... now it's Flotilla Happenns! ;-) Congratulations on purchasing this beauty. It will be a perfect boat to practise bigger boat handling!
So happy for all of you to have found a diamond in the rough for everyone to enjoy. No rotten planks or frames to replace (what a change) …..and with a bit of elbow grease here and there she’ll shine like new. Enjoy and thanks for sharing. Merci 🇨🇦👍
The kids seem to be more enthusiastic about this boat and it also seems that it won't need a huge amount of time and money to get going other than the rudders and props and driveshafts just anti-fouling paint
What a find, be a cracking boat for you all once you get those repairs done, I bet Mason will be first on the helm and Emelia first out with the paint brush. Have fun, well jealous
Hi, any self respecting machine shop should be able to either straighten or replace your shafts but if you can find a good boat works you should be able to get your props straightened and rebuilt probably for less than replacing them if they are bronze. Best wishes.
Wow guys S2 Yachts, Tiara, do you guys have any idea what you got there, what a score possibly one of the best built boats ever, high quality, great performance. You guys got so lucky with that purchase, well done.
Looks like we have Goldie Locks and the Three Bears (boat) syndrome here now. One too large, one too small, and one just right! Hum Hope I can keep up with the different boat stories and work... Thumbs Up!
Two happy bunnies, I can see you having a whale of a time on this boat. She is a cracking boat and I think you will find it hard to sell her when the time comes. Maybe sell the fishing boat instead. Russell
Replacing this cutlass bearing brackets with twin leg brackets would give stronger propeller supports. Obviously only if the hull is built to take the wider loading area.
You are definitely right spending time with the kids while they are still kids is what it’s all about, making memories while they are still young 👍you won’t be able to do that if you’re waiting to finish your big project because as you know by the time it’s finished they will be adults by then 😊who knows you may be able to take your grandkids out on her, make hay while the sun shines and all the very best to you and your family 💕
👋 G'day Amelia an Mason, nice ta see ya. Whats the cat to Port worth or what are they askin for it? For what its worth, I don't think you were shafted😜 on the cruiser. After all the was only one somewhat warped. Chuck her in the water in a cupla weeks 🙏 and run 'er round to Sarinda. They'll look good together. Thanks m8s, doin well!
A really lovely new boat. So glad you don't have to do much work on it to make it ready for the whole family to enjoy this summer. And, as you say, a good mid-sized training boat. Nice to see the kids pitching in. They are sure growing up fast!
Thank you all for watching! If you want to follow along on this restoration don't forget to hit the subscribe button (it's free) xxx

Don’t forget to ensure the P-brackets are also not bent before you replace the cutlass bearings.
Yes, and check for any damage to the hull around the P bracket mounts too.
You two are gluttons for punishment 😂😂

God Bless.

I was wondering what that was 👍
Mason's turning into a handsome lad. Emilia's a young lady now. So quick! They were just kids last time they were on.
Utterly brilliant. I love the new boat and its fantastic too see you both so happy and enthusiast. I cant wait too see what you achieve with her .Massive congratulations ❤
Thanks so much!
Great looking boat for its age. Remember to check the condition of the struts. The boat took an impact that bent the running gear so the struts may have been bent too. Happy boating.
Greetings from Northern Ireland congratulations on on the purchase of your new boat she's a beauty
Thank you so much, very kind of you xxxx 😘
MASON! Good to see you.
Trying to catch up on your boat videos I jumped over to the new videos and walls your kids have grown massively.. I'm way behind but catching up⚓
Having watched a number of other boating projects, I'd recommend thoroughly checking everything to do with oil supply and engine cooling.
Congrats, boat looks amazing!
Removing the packing from the packing gland will make removal of the shaft much easier.
Great episode guys!
We never would buy a broken boat :-) great ship, will be a bit less work on the hull and like everything, great kids you have.
I absolutely love this vessel and I couldn’t think of anyone who deserves it more than you pair, you’ve shown us all how much committed you are with all your very hard work on Sarinda. Wonderful! So nice to see the boy & girl, growing up so fast! Nice Boat you two!
Dunno how I missed this video, bit I have caught up now. Great video. I can’t believe how quickly your kids are growing up. Cheers.
Simon seemed like an old pro at pulling on shafts. A mighty big shaft you have Simon.
Good to see your kids, it’s nice of them to help mom and pops. Take care you guys I’m really jealous ❤
Don't encourage them! 🤣
What a lovely ol boat! Apart from the obvious she looks like she's been well looked after.
Looking forward to this one 👌🙂
Your doing very well taking the shaft out Simon man of steel!!! Well interested in your new boat for fishing!!! Keep up good work you guys😊😊😊👍👍💯💯

Miss giggles is working hard when the camera is on free labor is outstanding lol.
You two will have boats coming out your ears in a minute, but I hope the family really does enjoy this one.

Fantastic find we had a tiara 2500 about 25 years ago very well built high quality boats hope you have as much fun as we did 👍
This really is a nice new boat.
It's great too, to see you at an actual Marina, instead of your traditional Empire of mud !!
Ship Happens no more... now it's Flotilla Happenns! ;-)
Congratulations on purchasing this beauty. It will be a perfect boat to practise bigger boat handling!
And Simon asking Gemma for a hammer reminds mi polish saying 'bez młota nie robota' translates 'there's no proper work without a hammer' 😂
So proud of you and your family! Too much fun!!!!
Now that's lovely 😍. My late husband and I loved our cruiser.. amazing times we had.
You guys have a fleet now congrats
release prop shaft support bracket to hull to release shaft binding if out of alignment,(do both sides)
Mason needs to loan dad some hair. Lo Nice to see the kids!
Looks perfect for a bow thruster 😍🛥
no need for that it have twin engines 😂
Love the new boat, no more painting the bilge, but that’s one small engine room. Enjoy!

A welcome relief to watching more planking...good job guys *
Your children are growing so fast spend lots of time with them.
Exciting times, congrats.
PS I don't think people realise this is a different channel to Ship Happens
What a find, be a cracking boat for you all once you get those repairs done, I bet Mason will be first on the helm and Emelia first out with the paint brush. Have fun, well jealous
Sweet boat enjoy you deserve it happy floatin
Hi, any self respecting machine shop should be able to either straighten or replace your shafts but if you can find a good boat works you should be able to get your props straightened and rebuilt probably for less than replacing them if they are bronze. Best wishes.
Don't forget to renew the stern gland where the shaft goes through to the propeller.

I hope this new boat doesn't overtake Sarinda.
You're bonkers! Love the boat, and the shaft jokes!

Great stuff, can't help thinking that you are a little bit crazy too! Fantastic that it's something that the kids can be involved in over the summer.
YEAH! More fun!
Replacing this cutlass bearing brackets with twin leg brackets would give stronger propeller supports. Obviously only if the hull is built to take the wider loading area.
Hey this is so exciting… I love this boat …. Want it!!!! Hahah
Hey you could sail her to the Dee and moor her next to Sarinda?
Well, I'm guessing Serinda is not getting any decking this summer. That is so sad.
Brilliant guys can’t wait to see you out on the water love your shows
Ok, ok… now I’m hooked on this channel also. 🤣🇨🇦
Such a nice boat!!
Congratulations. It's not as if you have enough on your plates at the moment -- let's get another project. Can't wait to see the outcome, well done.
Very much enjoying your content! Certainly no need for any apologies, you have got a lot on your plate!

Congrats on getting new boat and good luck with getting the shaft straightened and props replaced this will make an excellent boat to practice with.
You two must have so much money !! 😮
The separate throttles will become so useful as you learn how to drive her.
Agree
Don't forget to replace the cutlass bearings.
Fuel Plus is excellent for your diesel tanks, we use it all the time.
Love the new boat! Wow the son sure has grown since last seen. 👍👍🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🤘🏻🤘🏻
Bigger than me now!
Lovely Boat, what a find, with not a lot to do from your video, great addition to your fleet.
Looks to me has the makings of a nice vessel . Allan from Lameroo
Hi there, As you panning the underside at 8.44 it looked like a crack to the underside of the rib. Luv ya work. From Oz..
That's water
