@@MrAaronbathorySodom is definitely a influential band but by mid 80s Latin America were a ahead on the extreme side when European bands were playing thrash we had blast beats and low tone guitars with the popular sound that’s now known as black metal😊

Legendary! I remember buying 'Fallen Angel Of Doom'at a small local recordstore back in the early 90's. I was overwhelmed by such hard and harsh sound! Still an album to get used too. Which is fine with me.
Love these guys. From a northern British Columbia community called Prince George and always proud to mention Blasphemy as western Canadian metal icons. Even checked out Ross Bay cemetery when I had the chance because of them. There was so much mystique surrounding these guys growing up its so cool to hear them speak on a podcast here and there. Thanks Rauta! Im a half Finn and need to check out the old country one day and some good shows!
Hell yeah. Not many metal bands out this way, especially in northern BC (I'm in McBride). These guys are local(ish) legends for sure! Do you know of Gyibaaw? They're the only metal band from PG that I've heard. Cheers 🤘🤘

Havent seen Gyibaaw in several years but used to be a regular in our scene here. I'll admit ive fallen out of touch with a lot of our local bands. Life gets busier as you get older haha. These days i'll leave town to see a larger show now and then.

Absolutely phenomenal band. They really influenced the underground war and black metal scene here in LA! Amazing that black winds mentioned Infaustes from South America! I been speaking and befriended the lead vocalist and bassist of the band and saw her evolution of starting Infaustes to where they are now. Saw the post of Black Wind, wearing their shirt too! Super proud of them reaching these heights!

I always thought of blasphemy of being like a black metal cro mags, just because of their size etc, both bands were influential to me in different ways. I remember seeing a picture of them and thinking that, I wasn't into the Norwegian aesthetic or lifestyle but loved the music.
Cro-mags is a cool reference, I liken them to Impaled Nazarene a lot haha because of the imagery. Very awesome unique bands. Im pretty sure Blasphemy guys are Cro-mags fans too.
The reason they haven't released any new material is due to lack of time?! Come on! Their last full lenght album was released in 1993. You can't tell me that in all those years they couldn't find time to write a couple of new songs...

Been a big fan of Blasphemy for a long time. Never have seen the band live and likely never will, as they can't get into the U.S. apparently. Maybe I will be able to afford to travel elsewhere and catch a show at the same time, but that isn't likely at this time. One more studio album from Blasphemy would be cool, but I imagine it is a daunting thing from the band's perspective since Fallen Angel, Gods of War, and the Blood Upon the Altar demo have been this body of work for decades now. A new album would most likely get the "yeah, I guess it's okay, but the demo is where it's at" response. To be fair, the Blood Upon the Altar demo is one of the best metal demos of all-time, in my opinion. I would also like to see Caller of the Storms interviewed by himself. I am curious if he still has that Ibanez from the Fallen Angel days.
