Here's a fun story, when i went to see Cannibal Corpse live, and the roadies were setting up the stage, the DJ at the venue was playing an entire Six Feet Under record through the PA. A Graveyard Classics album no less, no clue which one. You could see that the dudes setting up the stage were almost bursting into laughter and headbanging as a joke.

Ok. See your video is very polite, and intelligent. I actually like Six Feet Under but your arguments against them are just. I haven't loved the last 4 albums. So I get what you're saying. I own some Dream Theater too but I too haven't loved the last 4 to 5 albums of theirs. You are not coming off as an elitist and you are generally giving your opinion. Thank you for your professionalism in your dislikes.
The criticism is that their songs have parts that he likes, but they are in really long songs with a lot of parts he doesn't like, and the parts of a song have nothing to do with one another. I have not listened to dream theater at all, I checked them out, heard clean singing and turned it off, so this is not my opinion but his opinion.
The point is that it isn't coherent at all. Their songs aren't songs, it's just technical flexing for 9 minutes. An 8 minute progressive death metal track I really like is The Funeral Portrait by Opeth. All the ideas are clear, the transitions are smooth and that entire 8 minute song really feels like an 8 minute song and not lots of different bits of songs. If you like dream theater, you should just listen to Watchtower because they're almost even more insane.
Dream Theater’s Metropolis pt. 2 is what got me into music and is still my favorite album, so I’ll always have a soft spot for them, even if I’ve grown out of most of their discography. I totally get where you’re coming from though

As a diehard Dream Theater fan, I can certainly understand the issue with the fan base. The Mike vs Mike debate got old very very quickly, and 13 years later still goes on regularly. On the backs of Angels is just shy of 9 minutes, so I'm not sure which song you were referring to.
By openly not liking Dream Theater and having the exact same view on them (and their pseudo-intellectual fan base) as myself, you just scored a lot of points in my book, dude! :)
Wyatt did you ever listen to the album Home by Numenorean that came out last year? Great atmospheric black metal album and would love to hear what you think of it?
Wyatt dislikes Carach Angren? Disliked, unsubscribed Just kidding, good video, hope you're feeling better Btw the song is called "Murdered in the Basement" and the funniest thing is that is arguably one of their better songs
The rabbit hole started with me looking up the band "Bulma" because a coworker likes them. I was amazed by how bad it was. 6 or 7 videos later has led me to here. Bulma has to be worse than Arrogance. They have to be! Lol. I'm not really a extreme metal guy but I enjoyed this video because I'm a fan of music and like learning about and listening to new stuff.
Bands I still listen to 25 years later and who still release quality material throughout the duration of that time: - Nile! - Meshuggah! - Tool. Those 3 bands still freakin' rock! They're STILL awesome. They're insanely consistent. And honestly, that's it! When you really think about it everyone I listened to when I was 13 totally suck now. There's no escaping it. It's like, who wants to listen to Marilyn Manson or KoRn? lol.
I personally loathe the modern sepultura, I sometimes dare say that they sold out more than Metallica because they haven’t gone back to the black/thrash style of music
I'm all about WATAIN. After seeing them live and getting goats blood splashed in my face, accompanied by the smell of rotting pigs heads, mixed with incense, flaming tridents, and the devilish break neck guitars, drums, and bass. Not to mention Erik Danielssons vox and demonic stage presence. A redheaded hipster girl was vomiting in the pit behind me because of the smell, blood, or combination of the two. A visceral overload of the senses. I can't get this band out of my head. The most grotesque, and pleasurable metal experience I've ever witnessed. WATAIN DO NOT FUCK AROUND! Cheers mate! Love your channel.
If I dislike something, I just don’t listen to it or think enough about it to talk about it. I guess it came with age. When I was younger, there bands that got under my skin. Six Feet Under sucks now, but I still listen to Haunted.
Here are the bands I hate (In no order): 1. Hatebreed - I've listened to a whole bunch of Hatebreed's songs but I can't grasp the context of them. And the fact that they are labelled as metalcore really bugs me considering the fact that they have no metalcore characteristics whatsoever. One thing I really like seeing in a band's songwriting is the use of similes, metaphors, onomatopeia, etc., but as far as I know Hatebreed doesn't do that. Deep down, I really want to like them, but I just can't. However, I will say the only Hatebreed song I like is Perseverance, mainly becasue it talks about fighting cancer, which I can relate to since I lost my aunt and papaw to cancer. Other than that, fuck Hatebreed. 2. Limp Bizkit - The main reason I hate them is mainly because of Fed Durst. He is a complete douchebag. All he sings about is how he's better than this person or that person and how he can fight them easily. Plus their cover of Metallica's Sanitarium is just God-awful. 3. Memphis May Fire - There are plenty of Christian bands I enjoy, but not these guys. Their songwriting is predicatble. They have no creativity, and it all points down to Matty Mullins. He has to be one of the most down-trodden Christians I know. He's so attatched to his beliefs that he has to let everyone know. Now I am a Christian myself, but I have no time for Evangialism, contemporaries or anything they stand for. Get this through your head: NO ONE GIVES A FUCK ABOUT WHAT OU BELIEVE IN. Your life does not consistently revolve around God. 4. Fall Out Boy - Fall Out Boy has some of the most boing rock music I've ever heard. When I heard their song "Immortals" I was bored halfway through the song. Plus, their singer is just annoying. If anything else their fanbase really gets on my nerves. 5. Bon Jovi - Bon Jovi is probably the first band I came to despise. The first time I heard them was in my English class junior year. We were studying transcendentalism and my teacher (to my suprise cuz I never thought she liked music like this) played their song "It's My Life" and to me it was real cringy. I tried to se if they had anything better, but to me they just don't. 6. Emmure - They have done absolutely nothing special with metal. They're pretty much all the same. What pesters me the most is Frankie Palmeri's vocal style. The way he growls from a growl or a scream to a sort of speaking style is really cringy. A few of their songs are ok, but if they make some improvements in the future, then I'll reconsider my opinion. 7. Liturgy - Watch CountBlagorath's "Bands I Hate" video for the reason. Now keep this in mind: This is only my opinion. If you like these bands, then awesome. Listen to them as much as you want. I am in no way attacking those who like them nor am I looking for a response war.
DUDE FUCK. AGREED ABOUT CARACH EXCEPT FOR WHERE THE CORPSES SINK. I think Lammendam is good too tho :c Also giggled a bit at the "in extreme metal" goof at the beginning of the DT bit :P IM LAUGHING MY ASS OFF LISTENING TO INTOLITARIAN AND ARROGANCE BAHAHA and your impersonation of the opening to the Intolitarian album almost put me in tears X,D Btw based on how you feel about the relatively consistent heavy use of orchestrations in carach and the extended song structures of Dream Theater, if you ever see a band called "Spectria" next year or any time after you'd probably be doing yourself a favor to avoid anything that band puts out like the plague :)
Poser.... Good video! It's actually kind of hard for me to think of bands that I have a strong dislike/hate for. I might say Revenge and Death Worship, but that's not so much dislike as it is their reputation vs my own inability to get into them.... Dream Theater is okay for me, just never really spent a whole lot of time with the band outside of the one album I bought forever ago. Six Feet Under, I sort of dig a little bit. I enjoy the groove/stoner aspect to the band. Barnes vocals are certainly unique. They're definitely not a top favorite band or anything though.... Thanks!
Yes but Summoning is half Dungeon synth and half metal. People know this when they get into them, its how they're advertised. Where as CA is supposed to be a metal band, but if all you can hear is synth, then its a bit weak. I don't know, I've not heard that album, I liked their earlier stuff though.
Haha, sounds like an angry bedtime story. Very good description, but then I suppose it's meant to be. The only thing I don't like about Carach Angren is the Narrative done in black metal vocals. I like black metal vocals, but when spoken passages are done in them they sound like some kid playing doing a 'baddie' voice.
Chris Barnes went from being a great Death Metal vocalist, to sounding like your uncle making fun of Death Metal.

Wyatt did you ever listen to the album Home by Numenorean that came out last year? Great atmospheric black metal album and would love to hear what you think of it?
Overlooked by dead child album cover
Wyatt dislikes Carach Angren? Disliked, unsubscribed
Just kidding, good video, hope you're feeling better
Btw the song is called "Murdered in the Basement" and the funniest thing is that is arguably one of their better songs
Bands I still listen to 25 years later and who still release quality material throughout the duration of that time:
- Nile!
- Meshuggah!
- Tool.
Those 3 bands still freakin' rock! They're STILL awesome. They're insanely consistent.
And honestly, that's it! When you really think about it everyone I listened to when I was 13 totally suck now. There's no escaping it. It's like, who wants to listen to Marilyn Manson or KoRn?
lol.
You should check out A Blaze in the Northern Sky by Darkthrone.
@altnap I've heard it. I'm familiar with Darkthrone. Old Star was dope, but I don't think they're close to the level of the bands I mentioned
Thanks for introducing me to intolitarian and arrogance they both sound really good indeed.
I personally loathe the modern sepultura, I sometimes dare say that they sold out more than Metallica because they haven’t gone back to the black/thrash style of music
I loathe the Derrick Green/modern era Sepultura I only like the Cavalera era of Sepultura.
On the backs of angels is actually one of the "shorter songs". I am a huge DT fan but I understand it is not for everyone.
Do You like between the buried and me?
TheG3neralLee one of the best in my opinion the Alaska album got me into metal when it came out.
Hank Hill
😂 have you heard the Alaska album. You probably listen to Bring me the horizon or blood on the dance floor 😂 even worse fucking Nickleback
Crowley VIVIVI what if I listen to BTBAM and BMTH, am I accepted ? Everyone in this comment section are so full of shit. Also, FUCK NICKELBACK
I like Dream Theater because I grew up with them in the 90's. Saw them live in 1993. They were great when they were young. Like most bands.
The reason I don’t totally hate SFU is because of Lord Marco. He’s a really cool guy, and a super fast and teched out drummer
Their music is pretty shit tho
I agree..it was one of the darkest shows I've ever seen
If I dislike something, I just don’t listen to it or think enough about it to talk about it. I guess it came with age. When I was younger, there bands that got under my skin. Six Feet Under sucks now, but I still listen to Haunted.
You made Intolitarian sound great with the mud and the bad mixing.
As a Dream Theater fan myself, the fandom and Tool’s fans as well can get really pretentious sometimes haha!
When you get an ad a minute and seven seconds in
To honest i dont care for gorgoroth
Bands that i appreciate
Death
Vader
Immortal
Megadeth
SOAD
Korn
Pantera
Slayer
Nirvana
Rammstein
Alice in chains
Here are the bands I hate (In no order):
1. Dead By April2. Volbeat3. A Day To Remember4. Black Veil Brides5. Attack Attack
6:35 Didn't know Dream Theater was extreme metal.
5 Bands I dislike
5.Necrophagist
4.Archspire
3.Metallica
2.Deicide
1.Brain Drill
*I assume u mean metallica after their first 4/5 albums*
@@akbaselim no I mean Metallics after Kill em all
So you don't like Ride the lightning and Master of puppet? *Blasphemy*
Oh, you're one of THOSE people.
@@rudi_tabootie you mean people with strong opinions? Yes I am one of those
Your voice is very quiet in this video, the TH-cam ads blare in at full blast and then back to you whispering
Old video
Totally agree about Dream Theatre - nice to hear it from someone else. Thought I was going crazy.
Top 5 i hate
5: arch enemy
4:jinjer
3: judas priest
2: necrophagist
1: six feet under
Danny Dircio yeah
Arch Enemy I understand but they’re good IMO.
But having Judas Priest and NECROPHAGIST on this list is Blasphemy. What are your favorite bands lol
DUDE FUCK. AGREED ABOUT CARACH EXCEPT FOR WHERE THE CORPSES SINK. I think Lammendam is good too tho :c
Also giggled a bit at the "in extreme metal" goof at the beginning of the DT bit :P
IM LAUGHING MY ASS OFF LISTENING TO INTOLITARIAN AND ARROGANCE BAHAHA and your impersonation of the opening to the Intolitarian album almost put me in tears X,D
Btw based on how you feel about the relatively consistent heavy use of orchestrations in carach and the extended song structures of Dream Theater, if you ever see a band called "Spectria" next year or any time after you'd probably be doing yourself a favor to avoid anything that band puts out like the plague :)
Venom sound like a bunch of drunks in a garage trying to make music
well that's basically what they were, but they get a pass since they coined the term black metal
Buried alive is a master piece. At least the intro.
At least they are better than Anal Cunt. To say Venom is the "worst Metal band" is just ignorant to say.
omg soooo true😆😆😆😆😆😆
Poser.... Thanks!
5.Every Metalcore, deathcore, emo band out there
4.Municipal Waste
3.Iron Reagan
2.Six Feet Under
1.Blink 182
Diego A.Serrano Blink 182? What songs have you heard from them?
Bleed the Fifth by Iron Reagan is a total banger.
Nice Municipal Waste kicks ass
Does anyone have a link or so to Arrogance music and the second spot? I can't find anything online and I'm very curious
Second spot: th-cam.com/video/De1DHTcbad4/w-d-xo.html
Arrogance: th-cam.com/video/kCUyjDaNrxo/w-d-xo.html
Felt this way about Dream Theater forever. I love progmetal/rock but the way they go about it has just never worked for me.
Why do you dislike Carach Angren for being synth if you're a Summoning fanboy? :-)
Yes but Summoning is half Dungeon synth and half metal. People know this when they get into them, its how they're advertised. Where as CA is supposed to be a metal band, but if all you can hear is synth, then its a bit weak. I don't know, I've not heard that album, I liked their earlier stuff though.
Same could be said for Summoning after the first album
dream theater is the phish of metal
Great video!
What your thoughts on Death Toll 80k??
My list are
1 - bring me the horizon
2 - wormed
3 - slipknot
4 - autopsy
5 - pantera
Haha, sounds like an angry bedtime story. Very good description, but then I suppose it's meant to be.
The only thing I don't like about Carach Angren is the Narrative done in black metal vocals. I like black metal vocals, but when spoken passages are done in them they sound like some kid playing doing a 'baddie' voice.
holy shit, dude has a tattoo of Mao on his left forearm
