Omg the first photo is of my Dad outside the Crown and Sceptre pub in St Marychurch! 1950, photo taken by my Mum on their honeymoon!

I had to Research the lovely music from the start by the lyrics (note: Shazam Music can not read/or identify this) after a few mins its from 1914 Ada Jones & Billy Watkins - By The Beautiful Sea, its what you call pure talent singing and music, and i'm 32 years old and love this

I watched this video this morning and have had the music stuck in my head all day. I am in my 30's. Good music doesn't get old, it just matures like a fine wine.

@@GWRFan281 I agree, and this is a classic, and old music can be the best music around overall

@@GWRFan281 True, and one of the reasons that these old melodies stand the test of time is that they can 'haunt you night and day' as another lovely old song says. People could sing them, or buy sheet music and play them on their piano, which many people had, and whistling while you walked or worked was popular too. Happier times I think, despite the many difficulties they faced.

Back in it's heyday Torquay was an amazing place with some amazing villas in the late 1800-1930's (sadly no longer), but now a shit hole and drugs den like everywhere else on the coast. I lived in Torquay for many years but not out of choice and left 5 years ago as it got so bad.

Fascinating piece of work. The church very near the end....was that St. Michael's, at the bottom of Market Street?

Amazing work! That must've taken some time to photograph and match all the images! I always love seeing old photos of the Bay in all its former glory
