Torbay, Then and Now and Then

I have lots of cine film footage from Torbay. 1960's 70' and 80's and also video that I have shot. I thought it may be interesting to cut and paste some of it together to see what happens. The first scene overlooking the bay was taken by my Grandad from his back room window on Main Avenue

Used to be nice but not anymore,the town was great in the 80s,no crime and plenty of investment in the area,not anymore

Have fond memories of a family holiday in 1977, stayed at 'Park Vista ' guest house, close to Torre Abbey.l have been back many times since then and will always love Torquay even though it has changed a lot.

Thanks, some of the footage I have already posted on TH-cam, but I wanted to see how some of the older cine films worked in contrast with more contemporary filming and I think it makes some interesting juxtapositions

I was born in Chelston in Torquay and lived there till I moved to Teignmouth 10 years ago,I loved Torquay in the 70s &80s but now it’s a dump with a nice seafront,the council have left it to rot,it’s such a shame .
