- In this video I discuss how to tame a Therizinosaur. Trust me, it's not that easy. They are powerful attackers, to the point that most carnivores don't mess with them. That's not even all there is to it. The taming takes a long time, and their torpor drains at an alarming rate. In the end, it's worth it to tame one or more of these creatures. On their own, they are excellent harvesters of many materials, but also have the added bonus to boost their harvesting ability through the wheel menu. On top of that, they will autonomously harvest trees and bushes if you leave them on wander.

If you get to close big bird will yell at you an chase you if he catches up to you he will impale you with disgusting long claws that he never trimmed. Legend says if a brave hero can talk sense into big bird he will be your friend and aid you in combat.

Thanks, this helped me tame a level 32 therizinosuar, it was a difficult tame that me and a friend got on a whim, it was pretty chaotic since We had to do it on the edge of a swamp, we had to use a different trap that was originally designed for a baryonyx, we had to knock it out a second time, and when we did, it was on 1.1 hp, but we got the game which we named tikk by accident, we tried to name it tickle chicken, but settled for tick, thanks again for the video! It really helped!

Not gonna lie.. Im taming one of these atm and ive already use 600 nacotics.... He only at 60 percent.. Wtf
Guys a quick tip you could use the Dododex it’s basically for more effective and accurate taming time and the amount of preparation
For anyone watching this now, my personal meathos i use is a fair bit cheaper. Use 4 to 5 pillars preferably stone tall with a ceiling on the top, this is jist above the therenzinos hurt box, meaning you can stand on the platform and shoot straight down into his head, when he runs away from topor pursue on foot as you should be able to keep up. This is a easy way to get a early to mid game dino that can go toe to toe with a rex
I used a wood foundation and 4 wood ramps, stood on top and put a 5th ramp as a blocker

If you watch this to tame your first Theri you still shouldnt take too many important items with you even with this trap, my Theri was in the trap for like half a minute and then just bugged out and killed me and my bird
Me and my friend died so many times by these early into the game, Now we are so powerful we call them uglyosaurus and kill any one of the me see

Me and my friend just ran around with normal bows and tranq arrows then proceeded to feed it 100 narcotics and 200 mejoberries it conpleted in about 35-40 minutes realizing it was level 33
I just got on a rock and put some arrows in it and it fell down pretty quickly
I was able to tame a level 145 theri it was a pain to tame but I did it :D
The Therizinosaur just appeared and killed all my dinos but I was able to tame the Therizinosaur by watching your video, thanks!
When I was a beginner in Ark,um I thought this I thought this was a Raptor.

For me I think you should just climb a high rock that you can climb at the back and cannot at the front but you need to make sure that the one that your taming has to be at the front and the rock should be high enough or use the grappling hook on a tree hope this helps
To anyone reading this, I highly recommend using kibble instead of berries. It is so much harder to tame one with berries and it takes o much longer, its more stressful and wastes more narcotics.

I got a jackpot, found a 280 theri litterally right next to my base so I just made the trap beside my base and it was even safer then, sometimes I just think if these things are glitches since that never happends to me lol
Best taming stratgy if you have a second player. One attacks the therizino and runs away while the therizino is chasing the first player the other one shoots him in the back you can switch positions if xou want
I would recommend you to build this 1 wall higher because my theri jumped over the 2 high walls when he tried to escape

I was soo lucky to find a theri early on with a low level that was stuck in a tree. I was able to knock him out without consequences... and now I have an iguanodon, a dilophosaurus... and a theri

Just want to say that I am not sure if it is due to a new update, but I had not 1 but 2 Therizinosaurs get out of my 2x2x2. I had to increase the wall height to 3 walls high. Maybe it’s a console thing? I’m new to Ark and just got to lvl 65.
Was able to tame my first one today after adjusting the wall to 3 walls high!
im new to ark survival evolved i was doing a pursuit wich was finding a explorer note when i finished the pursuit i accidentaly ran into a therizinosaur it was so fast that i quitted the game for months
A little critique about the video: Therizinosaurus can destroy stone, yes, but that requires thousands of bite attacks to do so. So it’s basically not a problem at all and you can just use stone.
I want to tame Edward but it takes too long because I'm solo and can't make the kibble so I'd have to use berries. Doing most anything solo on official is kinda time consuming and hard

You will need a LOT of tranquilizing consumables. Narcoberries, Narcotics, and Cnidaria toxins are the things you’ll need. You will need a lot of Narcoberries, also a lot of Narcotics, and a modest amount of C-Toxin to maintain its unconscious state. To trap it, make a two story tall trap, using 4 house foundations (Wood or stone)to make the trap on top of, 16 doorframes (I recommend stone) without doors as walls so it can’t get out, while at the same time you can shoot it with tranqs, and 4 ramps to get it into the trap. Make it aggro onto you, then run up the ramp, so it follows you, then run through one of the doorframes to escape the trap. Then, shoot it with tranqs until it falls unconscious. Then, feed it berries, crops, or kibble (PC/Console : Exceptional Kibble ; Mobile/Nintendo : Megalosaurus Egg Kibble) to tame it while it’s unconscious. Don’t forget to feed it some of the Narcotics when its torpor drains too much. Berries are least effective, Mejoberries are more effective than normal berries, crops are moderately effective, and kibble is the most effective. If you are a mobile player, I would recommend using Normal Soothing Balm or Major Soothing balm for a faster tame. Saddle for Therizinosaurus is unlocked at level 69, and of course it’s LEVEL 69. They are very good for gathering almost any resource, from Organic Polymer, Fiber or Sap, to Hide and Prime Meat.

I am a newbie to ark and I am on the island map and I saw these guys and I thought it would be a cake walk to tame for some reason, after 22 deaths and about 50 tranq arrows I knocked him out and it took me an hour to tame the level 33 therizosaur, I had no idea that these dudes were such monsters, he helped me knock out a bronto in 5 arrows because he did 4000 damage in around 20 seconds
They are walking ginsu knives.
If your lazy and don't want to clear out the area go to crags Island (it's near the red obilisk) biggest threat there other than the therizinosaur are raptors and spinos so it's fairly safe and on a beach

I had a near death experience with these guys. I was traveling through the forest right after I got out of the swamp with my high level triceratops and I didn't have a spy glass at a time and I spotted a lvl 150 (I didn't know it's lvl once I killed it) and I thought it was a weak lvl one around lvl 15-20 and I was overconfident so I jumped down the cliff thinking it was about to be knocked out but when I saw that i had only dealt 1k damage I knew I was fucked so I immediately called for my Dino but it go to me first and I died I respawned around 1.7km away and I ran so fast that I ignored any giant carnivores and got to my triceratops at the right time my Dino was about to die luckily I killed the enemy when my triceratops had around 147 hp and I had like 32 hp I was sweating bullets.

I tamed my first theri with 4 large bear traps after (i play ark mobile) after i got a saddle for it we went to east zone 1 (near cave of the massive) ill keep it simple with nothing was spared from my wrath.😊
I am on mobile and I know to do the claw slash attack and bite but how do I do the tickle attack?
i didn't know you can put norcotic in the animal. i have been shooting him with nicro darts and always kills him at 85 % tame. thanks for this video ill try this.
Put Narcotics into your inventory, click on the Theri, press t to move it to his inventory and press e (just in case you havnt found out in 3 months)

It got out somehow. I got it inside but it was too close and caught me between a wall and got me so I respawned and ran back and it was attacking the wall from the outside
I play on mobile... I made a 2×2 stone trap with stone door frame that was 2 walls high.... I lured it in but it escaped like it was going on a walk through the door and my heart was in my mouth

I’m only here to see what lvl I need to be to ride mine. It was lvl 15 frolicking along the beach at south 1 with a lvl 142 carbon. Somehow it still almost killed me before I even got to my trap

I tamed this by hiding in my half-bluit metal base it destroyed my fabi. I also broke my Crossy while taming and hat to finish nocking out the theri with a sling shot.
Note the kibble system has changed so it eats exceptional kibble now

These guys are my arch enemies and I vow to kill the final boss one day, there's one of these annoying chicken faced merchants near my base and i've attempted to knock it out many times, one time I was looking to tame a raptor and saw one near my base, while I was taming this thing wouldnt stop disturbing me and I failed to tame my raptor. The second time I tried to knock it out to tame and it killed me so I respawned and collected my stuff, I finally got a decent level pt and decided to set out to try tame it again, I successfully knocked it out, only to get stuck in it and I ordered my pterandon to kill it multiple times but it wouldnt listen. I tried to feed it meat but it wouldnt tame up. I was sweating and decided to just wait till it woke up, take a few hits, get on my pterandon and bolt it out of there. When it woke up, my pterandon decided to FINALLY LISTEN TO MY ORDERS and started attacking it when i literally didn't want it to, i tried to whistle it to where I was so we could run away but it didnt work, so while the creature was distracted I tried to knock it out again, that's when the only decent pterandon that was near my base that I finally managed to tame got killed by that little bugger, it ran away after i shot it a couple times and i went to go retrieve my dead pterandon's saddle and hit it to get some of it's raw meat and hide. These chicken faced idiots are smart, and the guy came back at me while I was in my pterandons inventory and killed me while I was distracted, It was then I decided that it was my mortal enemy. Sorry that this is so long.
Lol dude same here taming these monsters are so hard that's why i tamed level 1 therizinosaurus and it took ages ( with berries ) and about 60 biotoxin and 30 narcotics now he is level 37.

The only reason I wanted to tame this as a low level, was because I got a blueprint of its saddle... it killed my raptor, it was an accident..I accidentally dismount and my raptor went straight for it.. I was so scared Bc it didn’t even got in the trap, it got stuck under the ramp. I shot 25 tranq arrows and it didn’t get unconscious (it’s a level 5) I planned to kill it because- it- killed my raptor.. I was so mad dude, but when I just switched to stone arrows.. it got unconscious. I WAS GOING CRAZY BECAUSE I THOUGHT IT ATE MEAT HSAJAJJJHJH this helped me so much omg, now I’m praying for my raptor egg to be a male bc I want the family going on 😢
The chances of your raptor egg being male is 65% and female 45% dis is because most eggs don’t have a 50/50 chance of a random gender so I think you’ll get a male
i jus caught one of these lackin stuck to a tree so i pumped it with tranqs and it eventually got knocked out and i stg i transitioned to do many different emotions trying to get more narco berries to thuringia to spoil meat to waiting for it to finish in the mortal and pestle and bro it’s so annoying
