- Let's take a look at the Megalosaurus. These creatures really aren't that bad, except for their tendency to not want to stay asleep. Which just means you have to knock it out multiple times. There are some traps that can help with this, since once they are trapped, they tend to not be able to get away. No, the real challenge to taming these creatures is the inability to find them. Their spawn spots are constantly clogged with all of the other creatures who spawn in caves. Not to mention that cave spawn are buggy in themselves, with creatures spawning inside walls or on the roof where you can't get at them. This can even happen outside of caves too, and it's really quite annoying and definitely needs to be fixed, but this is ARK and I expect it to be broken for the rest of time.

My cousin was exploring and mistook a megalosaurus as a rock and then stood on it. And that’s how we tamed a megalosaurus

My god. After playing so long with boosted taming, those taming times seem insane to me. I can't believe I actually used to spend this much time taming.
What's your multiplier for taming? I use 2.5
When I tame I have food drain and taming full up. As someone who works etc, I just don't have the time to sit there for hours just watching the dino.

They really need to make taming a bit more exciting in ark 2. I gave up on trying to watch tames and just knock them out, throw food and bill Cosby berries in their inventory and leave render distance to go do other stuff. 90% of the time they tame just fine

I was so fubbernucked when i thought the megalosaurus was gonna kill me it turns out that i tamed it! I was like screaming iam gonna die! While i was busy checking my base and when i came back i thought it was gonna kill me!

Yes it is far slower in the day so this is when I tame them
Fun fact: when you knockout a megalosaurus and you go ouf the cave to get raw prime meat the cave resets also megalosaurus helpfull for caves cuz most of the dinos or bug cannot see your megalosaurus and passive craetures when you attack it with megalosaurus they stay calms and not run but sometimes dinos accidently hit you

The fact that I've been thinking about Megalosaurous recently then this video is the first in my recommendations is bonkers.
I made the day last long and the night short temporarily to tame a megalosaurus since i was lazy to make kibble i went to a mountain to farm prime meat and it was so easy

Hey can you open floating damage numbers it kinda helps understanding creatures base stats
I believe it's in the server settings itself, it's not in your player settings
Look through the server settings and search for a box you can tick that says something like "show floating damage numbers"

I play on lost island and I had the bug where the megalosaurus spawned not in the cave. It dint spawn in walls it spawned outside the cave on the surface

Quetzal are easy. I just tamed a tex one a few days ago. It's soooo slow.

Whats the purpose of taming a megalosaurus other than its egg? There are alot of easier tame that yeild the same quality of egg right?
M Dawnak taming a Megalosaurus is better than taming any other creature that gives it's egg and used for superior kibble
And Megalosaurus are the king's of night in night they can easily defeat a 80 level rex

They can carry some of your dinos, and protect you in the night(20:30 by default).
And on mobile their eggs are the only way to kibble tame a Therizinosaurus.
In night time raids this thing will K I L L , it can pick people and small animals up and it's hard to get a good shot on him because for some reason he goes in circles
@@umarorigami8325 A Moschops egg can also be used for superior kibble right? Moshops are very very easy to tame. Just don't find thw appeal for this creature tho but those who do gl. They are kinda tough to tame ngl!

I just knocked one out in a cave and its not tamable
I was playing on ragnarok and I made fine home on the beach bc I am a low level, to my right was the vulture zone with a rex I was near the big ribcage on the beach and I didnt know this but to my left was a Megalosaurus and it killed about 80% of my dinos but its ok bc it was just a parasaur, raptor, and 2 good level moschops and almost killed my trike

A few of my friend and me decided to do tribe wars copied from axeman i picked cave my friend picked the ocean we were doing this on fjordur little bit after it released i wanted a megalosaurus for war (big fight of the tribes not gonna explain it all) i was fighting my other friend who was the snow tribe i wanted good stuff for an army and megalo’s were what i wanted i had to get my friend to trade me a water creature so i could get to the cave underwater after i got down there he got his mosa and killed the meg he gave me so i was stuck their for a bit i think I deserved that since i got a desmodus and used it to annoy them both

I went to tame a female Megalosaurus for the kibble, found one and was taming it at 44%. Then i left the cave to get food and water cuz i was starving and came back to the cave and it all reset
Edit: i kept on trying to restart the cave with my 2 baryonyxs and they disappeared inside the cave

Uuuh you don't need all that stuff. I tamed one with, Narcobarries, Raw meat, and a Downed it with a slingshot by back peddling.
This was most likely some baby alien's pet " siropodicus " who fell off the shuttle when dad and mom had to travel for new world discoveries!! 😂😂
