- In this video I show you how to tame a Stego. They aren't too hard because their AI is kinda dumb. Even in instances where the AI actually works in a way favorable to the Stego, it's still an extraordinarily slow creature. The thing about it that makes it worthy of a guide is the new features added to the Stego during TLC 3.

Ai in ari mobile somehow works better than some PC creatures but the giga is dumb in ark mobile
I mean, the Stegosaurus in real life is actually estimated to be really dumb since it has a walnut-sized brain
So this is pretty realistic in a sense
All dinos had extremely small brains compared to now, stegos had especially small brains because their skills don’t require a lot of intelligence so they just didn’t grow their brain so they didn’t need so much energy
Not all dinos have small brains troodons have big brains for their size

Stego, if I remember correctly, are the most dumb because of it's brain has the same size as bean considered it's mass body.

The stegos are so cool now with their different plates. The hardened plate mode might be useful for fighting bosses. But their AI is so derpy it’s laughable.

i got my lvl 145 stego tranq'd out with my mantis + club combo, its op for tranquing out something, and also i just realised stegos have different plate modes lmao, its my 200 hours in game and now i find out.

When I was trying to make a stego I made a wooden trap (which was a mistake) but then instead of the stego going into the trap I did cause it wouldn't go in and I needed protection but I still was able to successfully tame it

Hey, if you do a guide on taming / slaying and crafting Tek Enforcers from the blueprint they drop, could you mention that they can be picked up with pteradons early game? It definatly makes for easy farming, or a good survival distraction if a fellow tribe mate is in trouble with some of the larger agressive creatures.

I feel that dino stats are better when there starved and faster to tame without boosting taming stat they just eat tell tamed no pause to lower stats and levels.what do you think?
I'm gong to answer both of your comments here.
In terms of time to tame, it is the same whether you stave tame or not. It's often better to starve so you can gather Raw Prime Meat and not have the meat spoil while the creature is still taming. Starving also gives you the option to reset a tame if the creature gets hit before you start feeding.
If you want a timer for specific creatures and levels, I'd suggest looking at dododex.com
Stats are picked at random by the creature, the method of taming doesn't influence this at all.
The amount of bonus levels depends on what the taming effectiveness is. The taming effectiveness decreases each time it eats, or when it takes damage.
Each time the creature eats, it increases the taming % bar depending on the quality of the food. If there is no suitable food in the creature's inventory the taming % bar will decrease. The natural consequence of the taming % bar decreasing is the creature needs to eat more food, which further decreases the taming effectiveness which leads to less bonus levels.
There is currently no method outside of changing the taming multiplier in the settings to tame creatures faster. There are a couple of exceptions to this:
Argentavis have a heal ability which rapidly consumes food, if you get them to use it right before you knock them out you will have a huge head start on taming.
With Herbivores, you can leave stimberries in their inventory while starving them, the creature will eat the stimberries and slightly increase the taming % bar, but not restore any food. This will lead to a slightly faster taming time, but it ruins the taming effectiveness.

I found a 144 tek stego and used all 70 of the tranq arrows I had so I ended up chasing it and punching it until it was unconscious
Stegos went from worse then trike to probably the best early game dino for being a multi purpose mount.
Hahahaha the intro makes sense when you take into account that stegosaurus have a brain the size of a walnut.
i figured out(on mobile) you can tame a trike to get kibble for sarco, sarco kibble for stego and stego kibble for argent and argent kibble for spino and on top of that spino kibble can be used to tame a megaladon, do that and you have a great variety of flyers at your disposal. Reply if you find this interesting or another unique kibble connection if you so choose to call it.

Easy way to do it is to go to the herbivore only isle to the east of the island, give it about 10 or so tranqs, feed it lots of berries/ kibble then wait and kill any other stegos in the area.

Missed tip: The stegos grapple will also drain the stamina of enemy riders and once depleted dismounts enemy players.
