No he hasn’t. Look at the oldest videos. He looks to be early 30s, until he started gaining weight and losing hair. And he definitely doesn’t look 40 here
+liftcarry123 You know Just For Laughs is largest international comedy festival in the world. So, i think this crowd knows exactly what is funny and what is not. Russell Peters was beginning to be known and his timing was off on many of his jokes. He is so much better today. So you can get your head out of Russell Peters ass and maybe more objective by doing so.
freedoms2010 International for the comics, not the crowd. There is a huge demographic (ethnic) variance between the crowd pictured here, and Peters' current crowd. Almost, irrelevant of location. Your name should be FreeDUMB2010. Because your dumb
Ok so his jokes are quite old & his timing got a lot better over each year.. but its so nice to watch him now, so confident, perfectly timed & spontaneous.
I don’t know if it’s because of his smile but I like his delivery of the line “So I went... to England.” There’s something entertaining about the way he delivered that line!
He got so much better but I still find this funny. He’s definitely one of the funniest men out there right now and plus he’s popular throughout the world.
Yeah, now that I've seen some of his more recent work I can say that this one was a bit below standard. But I still enjoyed it, mostly because I can relate

I think everyone born to immigrant parents has that one uncle back home that swears he’s fluent, but it’s really a homemade creole with decades old English interjections lol.
He sure go better over the years. His core jokes remains the same, but he refined them over the years. His style here also had a hint of Def Jam comedy. This is probably before he started traveling a lot. In his later works, there would be more detail in his stories like shopping district in hong kong and more localized accents. Some comedians keeps coming up with new materials like fashion trends, but Peters' the type that refines his stuff, his core message had always remain the same; We're different, but also very similar.
I love Russell Peters.. But it's scary to see that I have heard so many of these jokes over and over again in his newer shows.. I am disappointed to be honest
I came to Canada in 1953 age 5. 55 years I felt I was the least Canadian most English person around. Then in 2008 I went back for 10 days. When I was flying home I was looking at the North shore of the st Lawrence seeing all the islands and rivers. Coming in over Ontario I was like there's Lake Simcoe, Got off the plane and wanted to kiss the ground, the first Canadian (unfortunately it was a janitor). I AM CANADIAN!!
wow!... how much he improved man!,,, i think even this was funny,, but the crowd made me feel awkward too... but i genuienly think Russel peters is hilarious
Im sure all comedians are like that. If you did a gig in france, you could do the same in UK etc. But he did get better as time went on and still added shit of course.
1:57 another cameraman editor who showed someone opening their mouth. well done, mister editor. always makes the show that much better. Is there an emoji for sarcasm? I would use it right now if there was one.
Hahaha!, “You know what this means in Indian?, (a goofy-voiced imitation of an Indian accent) ‘You want to eat?’”, while moving the hand gesture to and from his mouth!
3:33 I like how a lady laughed out loud when he said he was “trying to dance over here” while imitating an Italian accent, or Italian-American accent, and while doing small dance moves.
I'm thinking how does he get away with these jokes even if he's Indian himself and then I realized in 1998 Social Justice Warriors weren't around policing everybody
I also thought I was Indian until I went to India. There I found out I was Angrez .... English. Not that I even been to England. A friend of ours kept getting into fights with people in India cos he tells them he's Indian and they tell him he's not
Wow! The interesting thing is, over the years he's reused some of these jokes but the delivery today is wayy better. Just goes to show the delivery is almost as important as the content.
Alot of people don't realize how close east India is to China. At least the northern part of it. in fact a substantial part of northeast India shares a long border with China
Is it just me or has Russell peters always looked about 40?
Russels don't crack
😂😂😂

East Indian? Wtf is that. That is insulting
When you know he was gonna say the Chinese “whoo “ joke but there were no Chinese people there
Jeremy Thomas facts
What’s that joke?
Martn Maceda well he says woo and then says that could pass off as a Chinese name. “Woo”
"any Chinese people in here?" - they go Wwwooou
"There goes whole Woo family "
It's wu
It was kinda of an awkward at the beginning, gosh!
+Danskyl7 He doesn't give a fuck, though..which is why he is hilarious!
thats his point
He meant it to happen
Exactly ! I was like what the hell is wrong with this guy?!?!?
I think that is the point

+TheBurgerkrieg Just For Laughs is suuuper good at documenting good comedians doing weak sets in front of even weaker audiences ;)

Ok so his jokes are quite old & his timing got a lot better over each year.. but its so nice to watch him now, so confident, perfectly timed & spontaneous.
But this wasn't 5 years ago. This was almost 2 decades old
He has improved these bits so much !
All I can say....that’s amazing resolution! In 1998!!
Onepiece Not bad for standard definition

Its just remastered :)
Back then I laughed with arrogance on the superior quality of my VCDs over VHS.

+Omicron942 Yep.

almost everyone below is saying that he wasn't that good in this vid but i think he was great

TBF, This wasn't the polished Russell we saw 2006 to present.
Well, you changed my mind with that.
Yes. But what about his jokes? They were really forced!
I started to watch Russel peters in 2004. Can't believe that he actually started much earlier. Thank you for the jokes.
No one is commenting that his physique is EXACTLY SAME AS NOW 20 years earlier
susan xD he’s wearing a big ass coat it looks the same obviously but probably isn’t
He aged really well i must say
Noone cares.
I had to re-check from this Russel and the one now. Result? No difference whatsoever-actually no, he got better :D
Russell is one funny and cool dude. He left me in complete stitches.
The audience sure have changed since then. He is one comedian that appeals multi cultures.
Russell is only 28 here - 6 years before he did THAT show on Comedy Central in 2004...an absolute legend who is way ahead of his time!
I feel exactly the same way, I was born in America to Russian parents and when I visited Russia I felt more American than I ever have

Lol there were no Chinese people in the audience to yell "Woo" so that he could say "Look at them yelling out their last name." Joke fail lol.
it was 98 now chinese are everywhere .

So that "I'm so Indian joke" is an old one?
Yes because it's 1998
Yeah hes been flogging it for a longggggg time
@JimboParadox I agree with that it was much better in his red, white, and brown special
He’s waaaaaaayyyy better now 😂😂😂
