Increase Your Chinese Listening Skills: Differentiate Similar Pronunciations

In this video, you will be shown 20 pairs of similar pronunciations in Mandarin Chinese. You will first hear one pronunciation in a pair, choose the one you hear, and then I will help you compare the pair pronunciations. This practice is very helpful for beginners who just learned pinyin and need a practice form for improvement in their listening skills. Stick to the end, you will feel more comfortable and confident with Chinese pronunciations.

Q Ch - q is explosive from the roof of the mouth ch is from the front of the mouth
Sh Zh R - english, french, russian have these sounds respectively
N Ng - N is Nasal, G is Glottal.

They're really similar and I assume English is your native lang? They're allophones (sounds the same) to us. I think SEEING how they're pronounced, and also appreciating that j,q,x usually FEELS like it's bringing an i along with it, like Xiang, Jie, Qi, even the qu/ju/xu has an umlaut which is a vowel that answers the question "What if i an u had a kid?"
