    I really want to recommend 慢速中文 - Slow Chinese. The host reads texts in Mandarin at a perfect pace for learners - slow enough that you can keep up but still sounds natural. There's a transcript of the text in the description of each episode, so you can read along with the host and spot words you don't know easily. Also, each episode is about 5 minutes long which makes them really digestible. Great podcast!

    its so hard for me to understand chinese. ive been taking chinese for 4 years at school and the teacher spoke in english only. i am great at reading and writing but when it comes to listening comprehension it’s as if i never even took a chinese class. it’s extremely frustrating. my brain just doesn’t move quickly enough to understanding.

    • @keswitch789
      @keswitch789 3 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      It's better if you started off watching Asian dramas , Chinese ones included then when you started Chinese class the words would have been familiar to you that's how it happened for me, my Chinese lecturers were native Chinese and spoke both English and Chinese mandarin, I caught on faster than all the students in the class because I was watching the dramas before. So listening, writing and reading became easy but after a few years of not practicing the listening has faded no I have to look at the characters and pingyin to understand. It sucks when it's not your native tongue and you have to practice continually cus you're not living in the country where you have to speak it daily so it can improve.

    • @brooklynnsowley7769

      @@keswitch789 imma be honest i didnt really care about learning mandarin when i started bc i was forced into taking that class :’) im part japanese and we didn’t have any japanese classes at my school so i was forced into taking mandarin bc its the next closest thing while all my friends took spanish lmao. my teacher was also a native chinese speaker however she spoke english a lot in class. not 100% sure why but really put the whole class at a disadvantage :’)

    • @keswitch789

      @@brooklynnsowley7769 now I get you lol you didn't want to do, usually when you're heart isn't 100 into something it's just gonna go right outside the other ear. My Spanish teacher spoke a lot in English as well because they weren't native which made it the reason I can only read and translate but can't understand when it is spoken, if I hadn't spend so much translating for my class assignments I would've failed my exams...I know a lot of Spanish but can't speak it all now... understand it but can't speak it , have a hard time listening

    Coffee Break Chinese is usually my go-to. 20 minute episodes with a Scottish guy and a native Chinese speaker, and you basically learn along with him as they drill practical phrases such as directions, money etc.
    They actually break down the sentences in easy to manage chunks too, with some emphasis on the tones, so it's not like they're just overwhelming you with phrases and words.
    Coffee Break also has other languages too, such as Italian, Spanish and German.

    我最喜欢 mandarin monkey podcast! Featuring a native speaker and her english husband, they speak both english and mandarin, which helps you get some context! They just chat about life and random topics, they're pretty funny, and they interview people who have learned 中文!

    • @LeLeTesoro
      @LeLeTesoro 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The wife (sorry I forgot her name!) in that podcast speaks really clearly and at a perfect pace for learners, but I had to stop listening to it after a few episodes because I think the husband's horrible tones were actually making my Chinese worse and reinforcing bad tone habits >< Just a warning for anyone considering checking it out.

  • @mremerge

    如果你沒有列出請原諒我 :D
    These are a few that I've used from my personal experience for supplemental listening practice, I thought I mention these since there are other resources out there that are already fairly-known.
    潘吉Jenny告诉你|学英语聊美国|开言英语 - This is the one of the 1st podcast I ever found to train my listening skill. This is actually a podcast for native Chinese speakers wanting to learn English "phrases and slang." This podcast is similar to Mandarin Monkey where two hosts are discussing brief topics. The way I used this podcast was to "backward-engineer" what was being said in Chinese after it had mentioned briefly in English. I would say this is more for people who have some experience and want to extend their listening practice but not be overwhelmed.
    Mandarin Monkey podcast- Husband & wife who converse about a lot of different topics of everyday life using Chinese and follow-up with English so that you're not confused or left out from what was said. They have a ton of episodes to keep your ears tuned, without overwhelming you.

    TaipeiCast- This is 100% conversational Chinese and they provide a transcript (entirely in traditional characters) of each episode. Short episodes but you'll like especially if you are into 台灣口音.
    These are all easy to find on here, and if you like to just listen via a podcast player, you can easily find them on castbox fm

    Some of those podcasts use traditional Chinese writing, 繁体. Is this because the podcasters come from a region where this kind of writing is common, or is it because they simply like traditional Chinese characters? As far as I know, mainland China uses a simplified script.

    I never listen to podcasts😌
    Maybe i will try after this.
    Usually i listen to chinese (digital) radio sometimes😌

      Update : currently already listening to 自然而然说中文。😌
      I should have do this sooner..
      The problem with radio is cannot pause or repeat. So whenever i find some words i dont understand, 就没办法了😂
      But in podcast,that problem is solved, and there is even the transcript.
