I love how dedicated your father is to the bible!!! I noticed the signs for bible is just basically combining Jesus and book together to make bible, that's really cool! Is a lot of sign language a combination of different signs together to make a brand new word out of them? :)

You really should get a Patreon going and some merchandise.
Couple shirt ideas from your sayings would be
-Your channel name of course "Signed with Heart"
-You talk about when you communicate you don't need to sign perfect, it's the understanding that counts. "You don't have to be perfect" "Understanding is better than perfection" This could be down with sign, written, or both on the shirt.

Wow, your dad is just so loving and has no problem showing his love... even on camera❣️ You can see the Holy Spirit working amongst y’all 🥰
I wish my parents were like that growing up 🥺
I’ve begun to learn sign language for two reasons. 1) just because it’s good too and 2) because my dad has lost his hearing completely now and I want to teach him too so then we can communicate. He refuses to go to a classroom setting.
God Bless you and your family 💕

As always I'll be looking forward to your next one.
Thanks to you and your dad for doing this.

Very cool! I enjoyed watching this video. Ashley, thank God for having a family that learns signs to communicate with you. My family doesn't know sign language, but they can talk to me by speaking. I know it is difficult for some deaf people, as they have difficulty communicating with their family. It is very important to learn signs and empathize with the deaf. I would like to ask you questions too. 😁 Have a good day. ❤😘

    1) this video made me cry. It inspired me. The different worlds of father-daughter relationship and their 2-way communication on how to understand each other.
    2) I need no other mentor to reach/ask for a sign language lesson; Ashley's lesson is enough tool for me to learn the subject. I already subscribed and wait more for her other topics/discussions in the future.
There's a missing question: "does the rest of the family (mother and 2 sisters) also know sign language"?

I too am older adult ...years ago I took a semester at a school for the deaf which helped in my nursing career at times and recently my granddaughter who is 2.5 was dx with ASD (autism) so far she is non verbal and so I started brushing up and leaning more ASL online. Your tempo is great for new signers! Our prayer is that she will find her voice one day but I wanted her to be able to communicate either way. It is slow going with a ASD toddler but she is the light of our life and my "really good reason"!🥰 Thanks agian for great content!... also it's dec 25th so merry Christmas!

I always wanted to learn to sign and took a beginners class about 10 yrs ago, but like your dad said he learned mostly from you and being around you. I don’t have anyone to help me or surround myself within the deaf community. I really wish I could learn more but I don’t know how

    • @nicolesnotebook
      @nicolesnotebook 4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

I can relate! Sign language is so enriching and I wish I had Deaf ppl in my life too. /: I watched all the TH-cam videos I could to learn basic signs, and a few months ago actually just decided to jump in and enroll in an online course at a community college. If you don’t know anyone personally who is Deaf it’s helpful to be in some kind of course, I think. If you’re financially able, I’d recommend going that route. Or a free course if you can find one!! And TH-cam vids like this supplement a lot for me. Take the plunge ❤️

I love your videos. You and your dad sign slow enough for me to follow. I began learning some sign in a semester of college, but changed majors. Psychology was a better fit for me at the time. Also, I was twice the age of other students and couldn't learn at such a fast pace. However, I've been keeping up with learning at my own pace. Me and my son are both getting hearing aids soon, so I want to follow through on learning ASL.

I just remembered my father and I enjoy to communicate each other. I am deaf but we both have no problem communicate. His lips are very clear. We both love talk in religion stuff..he has more knowledge and explain it to me very nicely and meaningful. I still remember that. He passed away 14 years ago. I missed him. 🥴😊.
It is our God's grace and blessings. ☺️

Are you deaf enough that you can’t hear your own voice? Then how did you learn the sounds of letters and words somewhat? What does it feel like when you voice? Can you tell when you are making noise in your throat by vibration? How do you communicate with hearing people who don’t understand sign and you don’t have a pen and paper on you?
