Patapon IS 3D, or atleast partly. Patapon uses 2d images and layers them in a 3d space, it becomes clear at the 3rd game Patapon 3

@@none3662 patapon 2 if you look closely you can see it and if you pay attention to the backgrounds, but its definitely most apparent in 3 with the masks of the uberheroes and dark heroes being able to face basically wherever they need to

A little heads-up of further entries:
Patapon 2 is basically Patapon 1.2 in ways. It's MUCH bigger, has more features, but the story is a direct continuation and it is very very clear with Hawkeye Gong.
Patapon 3 changes numerous things up, for both better and worse in ways. It's not the same as the first games, but it both makes sense and adds new stuff too, even if some things of the past are lost.
(A example is how in P2, the Hero patapon can get carried away with hero mode, and disobey a Retreat or such. P3 gives more unity to you and them for reasons i won't spoil right now.)
Oh and in P3 it has more multiplayer focused stuff too. And i will say, the precision of fighting can even go down to the art of DESYNC. Deliberately offsetting your timing to your foe in order to nudge confrontations in your favour, like trying to catch a foe right at the end of their retreat when they return back to their old spot, and catching a foe right before they get to strike at you (both also depends on the character and setup you and your opponent has. Some characters have better reaction times while hero mode or such is active, and some characters' moves could have a very specific movement that could even dodge a desynced attack by moving early, or be caught by a desynced attack right at the start or end of the movement.)
There is a lot of fun and struggle that lies ahead.
Almost forgot, there is a gradual slight desync in P1 and P2 on occasion, which was corrected in P3.
Although in P2 the last boss taught me the art of desync and resync, with how long i struggled and eventually the boss slightly desynced and i noticed.
As for the gameplay, perfectly putting a command will give you a strong boost in that move. Either more defence, more attack and attack speed, alongside more movement speed.

Fun fact: apparently Patapon are bigger then Pikmin but are still small being the size of a baseball

Okay so just a heads up, I'm not making a series for the first game but WILL be for Patapon 2! However, it will not have the same amount of editing that this video had, and will be more along the lines of RTGame's style of editing in order to make sure I'm able to upload more videos and stream! The timing is much more lenient in Pata2, the challenge comes from correct inputs and managing Heropon properly
Tbh, I didn't expect to have this much fun watching a new player play patapon as much as I did. Watching the struggle, the confusion and you learning about the different mechanics is fun to watch. I don't mind watching a series of this if it's this well edited

Im glad I got your channel recommended, patapon is so underrated, the first 1 is a bit rough around the edges IMO but the second is one of my favorite games of all time, hope you enjoy!

Honestly more people should learn about the existence of Patapon as well as Ratatan, a new game from the creators of Patapon.
Patapon, a game you can play with audio only (in the missions), yet utterly fail if you try to talk while playing.

patapon 2 is the best game, it's basically 1 but refined, expanded and better in every aspect. it's also more lenient with fever timing.
patapon 3 has terrible gimmicks and asinine forced multiplayer design. still fun to get through but the end game stages are ass.

edit: the fact that the fever timing is more lenient for 2 is already a plus because I had such a hard time keeping fever when I got it haha

The timings in the first game are really strict, which is why it took you always for 10combos to reach fever. You can get to fever as fast as 3 combos but it has to be perfect.
Also you dont know if you mess up during fever because it ends only after the measure of drumming and not exactly when you mistime the drumming input

U should really try patapon 3 and then try the overhaul mod made for patapon 3. But really overhaul mod is so good it makes p3 experience more enjoyable plus u can even play online too
