I enjoyed your review. Only 3 weeks back from my 1st P&O Cruise, azura.. Which was OK, not my no1 but still had a good time. I booked end of April iona /Fjords and super excited! I'll be back with more questions nearer the time 😉 xx
Thanks for watching!! Glad you had a good time on Azura, understand why it might not be your favourite. Ask any questions you want! We’re back on Iona again in February too. 🚢
@sistersontheseas I didn't like that on celebration night, everyone who dressed up could go to the casual venues but not the other way around. So, we, a group of 5, couldn't find a place together in any bars like malabar etc.. That's not ideal in my opinion. Buffet layout chaotic, but MDR was fantastic. Food one of the best I had so far on a ship. And I do like that size and decor, that does not bother me in the slightest 😊. I'll be back soon for iona questions 😅
Another coach swrvice to consider is Eavesway. We've always used them to get to Southampton from up north, and while they are not perfect, it is another option to look at. They have always at least taken the traffic conditions into consideration and detoured if necessary
Only drink two and every once in a while three alcoholic drinks. The shows you either enjoy it or you don't. To places I haven't been to would prefer to take a shore excursion. Yes, disembarkation is not a favorite time since it means vacation is over. Am subscribed and did hit the like button.
This year we’ve cruised on Iona ,Sky Princess and Arvia they all appeared to be suffering obvious staffing issues in restaurants and bars . Our cruise to Norway and Iceland in June on the Sky Princess was considerably more expensive than our March cruise on Iona to the Canaries and our Med cruise in August on Arvia so we didn’t expect the same staffing problems as P&O on a premium brand
That’s interesting to hear and we totally agree, you’d definitely expect better staffing levels from Princess! We have a Cunard cruise coming up in a couple of weeks so it will be interesting to see how that goes.
Hi sorry to hear about your Bus service. We live in Scotland and when go cruising with P/O we get the train down to Southampton and we stay in a hotel overnight a great way to relax.we did thing about the Bus but it would take too long from Scotland to Southampton. Thanks again for your video and keep your good work going 🤗
We live in Glasgow. Got the coach at 3.15am arriving in Southampton at 12.15pm. We were taken right to the ship's check in which was really fast. Got through security and sitting having our lunch by 12.45pm. Our luggage was taken to our cabin from the coach. We didn't see it after handing it to the coach driver until it was left at our cabin. Will definitely use coach again.
Glad it’s worked out well for you! As we said, we wouldn’t use it again after our experience, we feel a lot more comfortable being in control of our own arrival time
We were onboard iona on the first week of september and our only ongoing gripe is the service times in the bars are terrible . We have been on iona the once and arvia twice this year and its been the same poor bar service every time aa they dont put enough staff on , we think its so you cannot get through your drinks package lol😂
I'm guessing that'd add a lot of weight (and cost) when you multiply by the number of cabins. I would love to not hear people's televisions and conversations through the walls!

Great series of videos, really enjoyed the Norway videos 👍
Thanks for watching, glad you enjoyed!
You don’t mention the brilliant adult only pool on forward deck
We didn’t use the pools on this cruise, so weren’t able to talk about them in our review.

That is a good option! We quite often see Eavesway coaches when we’re on our way to Southampton.

Thank you for watching as always! Yes, its always good to go on an excursion if you don't know a port well, we agree.

The train sounds like a good option and the overnight stay definitely does make the journey more relaxing! Thanks for watching!
Used the curtesy coach many times Bham _ Southampton have never had a pickup time as late as that , no wonder you felt concerned and rushed.
@wendydavies3401 apparantly pick up times have changed to stagger arrivals into Southampton. Hopefully P&O realise some of the new times are too late!

@sengahughes2572 glad it worked out well for you. Unfortunately our coach hadn’t even left by the time you were onboard!
We allways use the coach and never have any trouble but once we were late getting here but as you say if you use the coach the ship will wait

That’s a good point, perhaps that’s part of P&O’s strategy 🤣
When in port in Norway is there a normal time that Iona leaves port ?
Specific times depend on the port, but it’s usually around 4.30 - 5pm
They need to noise proof the cabins. This is a new ship after all!
That would be perfect!

They’ve change£ that - you can view the video anytime. I was in my cabin early and wasn’t forced to watch it befor3 I could view anything else.
No, you can always change the channel over 🙂
