Great video guys. I’ve been on a number of cruises. The first few we had a balcony. And because we only slept in the room, it seemed a waste of money.. so now we always have an inside cabin. It saves us a few bob.
So it’s £900 for an inside cabin, £1300 outside or £1500 balcony. Not been before and it 14 nights to the canaries. What you think? Is it worth paying more for that length of time?
I wish I seen this before I went last month. Great advice. Had a great time. Going on to airplane mode while on the ship wonderful. You can completely switch off.

A massive thank you for these Iona videos. Our first cruise this Saturday and was stressing about what we needed to do etc. We watched all three last night, and booked entertainment etc whilst we watched. We are now both far more confident and looking forward to the trip. Its definitely made a difference to our mindset, especially when not realising that our "free parking" needed booking early which didn't help. Also thanks to Ewan for his travel sickness updates (very useful for me). Now cannot wait 🙂

Hi, hope you’ve had a good weekend? Wife and I are enjoying your vlog, I have noticed that a lot of your food was Gluten free, I have Coeliac Disease and wondered was it difficult to get GF food? Wife and I are doing the Norwegian Fjords on Iona in May!
Hello there, there are plenty of gluten free options available on the Iona. In all the restaurants. Also remember to ask specifically at the horizon buffet for any other gluten free nibbles like crackers. Muffins. Bread. Biscuits. They are not laid out usually so don’t be afraid to ask.👍
Thank you, for an informative video. We are going in September 2024, a little apprehensive as have always sailed with Royal Caribbean, but they don't do the Fjords in September, the reason for the late sailing is that we want to hopefully see the Aurora. I have seen it up the very northwest of Scotland, but my wife hasn't.
Hi Andy that's interesting we have only done Royal Caribbean as well . So will be interesting we are going before you on the 20 April. I hope it's as good as RC
@@romanaandewan The weather can be so unpredictable in Norway. We stopped at Stavanger and it was beautiful and warm then we cruised around the fjords and it started to change. We went at the end of May and to be honest it felt like November in England. Very wet windy and cold. But you don’t go to Norway to get a suntan. Cost of living over there is very very expensive. My husband bought a beer in one of the local bars. It was £5.00 for 400mls not even a pint. If you are watching the pennies or being a bit miserly like I am. I’d suggest you fill up on food whilst on ship before you head out to explore. It is a beautiful country with amazing views and lots of outdoor activities but as you’d expect it can be very hilly. Nearly everyone in the resorts speak English so it’s easy to be understood. Enjoy your cruise
Thank you! We didn’t have a car with us. I’m not entirely sure if you can drive right into the terminal but you can certainly get very close and then walk the rest of the way to drop your cases. Have fun!
If you are parking with CPS, you drive up to the terminal and wait for CPS staff to check your car in. Then its simply take your luggage out of the car, hand over your car key and its no more than 100 yards to the luggage drop off point. They do have luggage trolleys to assist you, just like an airport or mainline train station. Then go into the terminal building and through airport style security. Then it's straight onto the ship via an airbridge.
Wow, first of all, I want to say that you are incredibly beautiful and pleasant! Secondly, your video is super helpful with lots of useful information. It's wonderfully shot and very well narrated! Thank you so much!
Some of the excursions are sold out on the website. I know they are cheaper on the website, but will they be available on the cruise or are they still sold out?
Totally agree with you re internet packages. Pricey to use their packages and I loved having no access to internet at sea! I found the bag drop confusing when I got there. One of the team helped me attach my luggage labels when I handed over my luggage once I worked out the system. However my bag didn’t turn up at my cabin - when I rang reception, they said they had a bag matching description and brought it up - it was wrong bag. Fortunately I went down to reception and it was there. When I went on this cruise last year, I didn’t need to book ahead for anything so clearly a lot busier. Weird,ly, I managed to lose about 5 pounds on this cruise despite really enjoying the food - full English breakfast, pastries and cereals every day.decent lunch, and lovely suppers.
We heard of someone on our cruise who lost their luggage. Luckily ours was at our door when we got to our cabin. Glad you got yours in the end. Wow well done for losing weight!
