    When I was growing up my mom taught me and my sister that we needed to be able to support ourselves, so that we did not need to find a man to take care of us because we could take care of ourselves. She want us to be able to find strong partners in life & not just a provider. When I got married, I had lived on my own for 3 years and I married my husband because he told me that I didn't have to work if I didn't want to but if I did the money I made was for my use and not the household money. We both pay the household expenses and up keep. We both took care of raising our daughter. He is not a millionaire but we are not in debt and our daughter gets to go to the college of her choice without student loans. We also taught her not to settle for just any man but to look for one who will make a good partner who will support her choices and she can support his.

When Kevin references the 60’s when 80 percent of Black people were married, the average of the men didn’t make 8 times above average. It’s true but you gotta be careful with that. The comment was taken out of context. A man should be able to pay because 1) if you're living within your means then you can "afford to pay", 2) the person that you are investing in should understand your "present" circumstance 3) it was meant to motivate you to be on & stay on your grind. The purpose was to help the female maintain her feminine ways at every level.

    I think Kevin is saying "it is what it is" and not that it's necessarily right that men should need to pay for everything, because of what women are wanting, if they want those type of women. Problem is, the majority of women, especially within certain communities of women, are like this, sadly.

    • @sugarwaterpurple5280
      @sugarwaterpurple5280 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      There are too many women contributing to their home and supporting themselves for this to be true. The majority of women are fine supporting themselves. Someone who wants you to pay all the bills and wants to keep her money for herself, that's a red flag. That woman like that will not respect or submit to if the tides turn financially.

    • @Soulja4ChristWeAreAtWar
      @Soulja4ChristWeAreAtWar 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@sugarwaterpurple5280 women that look for someone to be able to pay aren't necessarily gold diggers, but looking for someone to be able to provide not just for her but for her /their future children. That's what he's talking about. This is why women always truly look for someone who is greater than them. This is supported overwhelmingly by studies and statistics.

    If I could like this video a thousand times I would! As I woman that has been in both kinds of relationships, I would much rather be with a man that treats me right rather than a man with a big account that will probably be arrogant af. I searched for a man that would show my kids the right way to live and the right way for a relationship to be. No we aren't rich but we have cars to get us back and forth to work and we work together to build and mutually respect each other and each others opinions. That's more important to me than some ahole coming in smacking me around in front of my kids or even in secret, yelling at us to do what he wants then buying us ice cream and gifts after trying to make us forget about it even though I still have the mark to prove it truly happened. ITS NOT WORTH IT!

    That’s enough for me for now, and when I am ready to (which will be relatively soon), I have money set aside for investing in the things I want to for the future. Just because it doesn’t happen immediately doesn’t mean it’s not going to happen or that it’s not worth working toward fellas. Persistence and dedication will get you anywhere you want to go.

    Isaiah 3: 16-25
    Jerusalem’s Women Judged
    16 The Lord also says:
    Because the daughters of Zion are haughty,
    walking with heads held high
    and seductive eyes,
    prancing along,
    jingling their ankle bracelets,
    17 the Lord will put scabs on the heads
    of the daughters of Zion,
    and the Lord will shave their foreheads bare.
    18 On that day the Lord will strip their finery: ankle bracelets, headbands, crescents, 19 pendants, bracelets, veils, 20 headdresses, ankle jewelry, sashes, perfume bottles, amulets, 21 signet rings, nose rings, 22 festive robes, capes, cloaks, purses, 23 garments, linen clothes, turbans, and shawls.
    24 Instead of perfume there will be a stench;
    instead of a belt, a rope;
    instead of beautifully styled hair, baldness;
    instead of fine clothes, sackcloth;
    instead of beauty, branding.[d]
    25 Your men will fall by the sword,
    your warriors in battle.
    26 Then her gates will lament and mourn;
    deserted, she will sit on the ground.

    This is something I needed to watch because this has proved my point for my other female friends. Men shouldn’t be anything and everything just to impress anyone. I have told my boyfriend that he is a man that is too hard working to impress me or any other women. I have told him that I loved his mindset and his personality for me to even care about anything financially. When it comes down to investing, I want him to focus on his future purchases that he would want or need in his life. I don’t want someone to pay everything for me especially he has something to build toward.

    Being 'a man' is not determined by the wallet 'thickness'. A man takes care of his family best he can. A man is there for his children, guiding them down the path to being upstanding adults, teaching them where and when he can. A man is true to his word - if he says he's going to do something, he does it, or if he cannot do something he speaks up then. A man does not run when things are too difficult (or boring).

    When this man said the average salary in 42K a year, people need to know it means all salaries are included and the top high salaries are so high that the datas become a complete non-sense. It means less than 1/4 of the whole people really get to those 42K.
    If you want a more realistic number, you pull out the equation (let say) the 100.000 highest salaries and the 100.000 lowest salaries. Then you get a number more around 25K than the 42K this man is talking about.
    In reality, the largest majority of men can not pay for everything any longer and it will be more and more true with the energy crisis to come. In France, electricity and gas bills are meant to increase by 50% by 2050 and it will be worse for home rents as the offer will go decreasing while the demand will the opposite.
    Kevin Samuels makes me laugh sometimes when I see how disconnected from reality he is. I particulary smile when he talks to some women with a lot of despise when he is himself father and divorced with kids. And twice if I'm right. Meaning, he's not an example to follow. Not to mention how he's rejecting all the wrong on women while putting men on a pedestal.

  • @jeromeporter3745
    @jeromeporter3745 3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    Just want to add my two cents. KS largely talks in regards to high value men. So it isn't that he sees men as not being men based on income, it is more of an accountability ploy to get men to work harder and not be satisfied with having an average job. I don't believe they are disagreeing, the KS sound byte doesn't provide enough context for the quote. KS provides uncomfortable truths to produce higher outcomes. AO is harping on the sound byte but he is neglecting the fact that many many people are not financially savvy and are literally living pay check to paycheck and that the modern dating market is based on one's income. One quote I love to think about comes from the Fresh and Fit podcast: A king can marry a peasant and she becomes a queen, but a queen would not look a peasant's way.

It got to a point we were going out almost every night and I eventually told her that if you want to keep going out like this I couldn’t afford to and I would appreciate it if she could help out every once in a while. She got pissed. I’m the man, I suppose to pay for everything. I asked her “you would never treat me for a night out?” She thought for a second and then said, I SWEAR, “Well I would if it was you birthday”. My response ? With the deepest layer of sarcasm in my voice. “ My birthday?! Omg I’m so lucky you would treat me to a dinner for my bday. What a wonderful girlfriend you are.” We broke up a week later. Why a week later?
