2:54 Seems like an awesome shop - but saying Tissot is "made by Omega" is misleading at best. Tissot is owned by Swatch Group, operated under completely different umbrellas even though Omega and Tissot both are under Swatch. Tissot uses ETA (Swatch) movements, while Omega makes their own. They aren't made by the same people - just a heads up to any viewers!
Tissot is, historically, the sister brand of Omega (like Tudor is to Rolex) since 1930 when they together formed SSIH, the precursor to the Swatch group. There are several older Tissot watches co-branded with Omega.
..but to sell a Tissot Ocean Seastar Automatic (Powermatic 80) for over $1000? Tisk Tisk. I mean, I am all for mark-ups, but that watch, MSRP is $725. Damn. Even the Seastar 2000 MSRP is $825.
Yeah, this guy is the reason that when I go to a watch shop, I shop and don't talk to the salesperson until I am ready to buy. I don't allow sales people to help me shop. If they follow me around the cases like this guy, I just look and leave then buy later online.

I just received my Bulova Moonwatch a week ago and now I come across your video. Seems that we learned about the watch and bought it pretty much at the same time. For me - somebody who needs a watch and is interested in space programs and such - the Lunar Pilot is no brainer. Great price range in relation to the quality plus its history. I also went for the version you chose and I wear it on the NATO strap which, in my opinion, is the best choice for it. The watch is highly legible (in light and dark) and its dial is not too busy (the design itself reminds me of the lunar craters), it has fantastic mechanism / movement of hands and kinda elegant but also specialistic look - all of that makes wearing it a pleasure for me. I highly recommend it to anyone interested in buying it.

Hey Adam, I'm a bit of a watch reseller myself, and I have to let you know, I have never seen the Lunar Pilots trade over $600, let alone that high. Even the one on the bracelet which is sold out most places doesn't. $699 is an absolute rinse, guy probably made $300+ from the resell if he got them for $320 on release like most of us. Also, you can just straight up buy your model for under $600 from bulova themselves... it's $556 from them right now. The man has to run a shop in a expensive aeria, keep on the light and pay rent: he is providing a service for the customer who is willing to pay for it. Also you can see the actual watch before buying it. I would rather pay a bit extra for that than buy something that I've seen on a screen without actually wearing it, feel it and seeing it with my very own eyes. If he really was too expensive, I think his shop wouldn't have survived.

I got into watches when I was serving as a soldier ( British Army ) in West Germany as it was then. I saved and saved for months and bought myself a Omega Speedmaster on a Leather strap in 1976, which I still own! I also believe it or not a “Trump”watch for exercises and operations as it was much cheaper but still a mechanical movement.( It’s German made and still going strong). A lot of expensive watches are clever PR rather than expensive materials. You can pick up watches that retailed £10,000 to £30,000 for £2,000 to £4,000 after a few yrs, even less sometimes, for no reason other than popularity.......which is crazy
Great watch Adam, but most people aren't sleeping on Seiko. The "top" 1% dont care about Seiko, the majority of the rest, us mortals, deffo know our Seikos :)
There’s another version of this watch. It’s the 96A225 model. In my opinion it’s more faithful to the original. It’s a no date watch and the Font for the Bulova brand on the dial is the same as the original watch. They are all very good watches and I love the one I have
The watch seller doesn’t know about that Tissot Seastar 2000. He said automatic 200 meter water resist. The 2000 stands for 2000 feet water resist, equals to 660 meter.
Good choice Adam..I bought the exact same one years ago and wear it exclusively with the Velcro Nato also I still think it's the coolest and most true to the original with exceptional accuracy 😎👍
Cmon bro.... Never heard of Hamilton???? LOL.... I bought a Bulova Lunar Pilot about a year ago after hearing the 'only other watch to be worn on the moon' story.... Its a beautiful watch, However, its so nice looking i cant bring myself to wear it! Great pick up anyway...
I have 7 Tissots and 3 Rados. Each of them are of better quality than any Tag Heuer or even some Breitlings and Tudors. Good doesn't always have to be expensive. Look in to Rado ceramics and Longines. You will not be disappointed. I always say a Longines is a poor man's Grand Seiko and a Rado is a poor mans Rolex.
Really agree with Adam you don't need to break the bank to enjoy a watch. Its a personal taste, a story about the watch or a achievement you have had in life attached to the watch you bought at the time
Make more of this watch content Adam, seeing this about affordable watches and your unbiased attitude towards watches is enjoyable. The Rolexes etc. on the other channel are getting a bit of tiresome.
Lunar Pilot is a beautiful watch. I sold mine a year ago and I don't know what I was thinking stupid, stupid, stupid!! 🤣 To be fair, I have a pretty decent collection including Tudor and Omega but I really regret flipping the Bulova. Fortunately they are relatively affordable so I can pick another up.
Awesome Adam, love the format, Please do more like this, you concentrate on the prices us mere mortals can afford on all sort of goods, from watches to cars and clothes and let Michael do the high end gear, look forward to the next one,, p.s as usual its raining here in the Lake district lol
@@darrenfry4695 That’s true! Never thought about it. Lego is awesome and Sinn is quality. Nevertheless, Adam is obviously missing out on a lot of amazing brands.

Nice watches! I totally agree about not having to spend too much to get a watch that is both good quality, and a pleasure to wear. I have a Tissot v8 that i really like.
It's a well known watch in the watch community. I have this watch in the first edition sandblasted finish with commemorative box and two straps (one NATO strap and one carbon fiber strap included in the set). Basically the same watch that you got. It's a nice watch but slightly bigger for my wrist.
It’s almost like I wrote the title to get peoples attention and watch my video hey?! Crazy concept for somebody that earns their living from TH-cam I know 🤯
You are looking at all the brands I am looking at. ProducerMichael got me into watches, Adam Swords is workign at my level. This is excellent. Very relevant.
This is excellent Adam, I love your videos of expensive watches with Michael, but this is much more realistic for most people and proves that price isn't everything, these are still real quality watches that look fantastic, that watch you bought is stunning 👍 Best wishes from Dronfield nr Sheffield UK
Ivan seems like a very positive and cheerful person, he might even be a watch aficionado, but you can clearly tell he does not know much about watches, he's just selling them.
To me it seems even worse than that, he's kinda twisting the reality... Like when says Tissot is great because it's made by Omega (both part of Swatch Group)... It's like saying Skoda is great because it's made by Lamborghini (both part of VW)... Not a very trustworthy seller...
He's a salesman, not an aficionado. I never listen to salespeople. I've been known to research dumb shit they say right in front of them and then tell them they are full of shit. All because what they told me sounded so outlandish. Never trust the salesperson.....never.
A very nice watch. I'm sure you will enjoy it. I have the version with the bracelet (95B258) and timed over precisely one year from when I got it, it had only gained 2.3 seconds. I hope however you didn't pay the asking price at the shop. Here is Aust, you can buy the same model as you did (96B251) for AUD$499 which at the current exchange is approx. US$375.
As much as I love Michael’s videos it was so nice to see so many beautiful watches I could actually afford. I have known of Bulova for years but never seen one that impressed me until today. I hope they have them in Australia at a reasonable price. Nice work Adam. Keep it up. Onya mate.
Fellow Aussie here. Starbuy in Sydney is selling these and they’re generously discounted at the moment. I picked up the stainless steel version with nato strap for $399 - free postage. If you want the fancy box and extra strap it’s $499.
Unheard of?? This is the most famous moon watch, second only to the Omega Speedmaster. Got mine new for $335 last Wednesday, then went to Nathan's and got a Massive bacon burger. I Love leather, meat and bacon! And what do you mean, "Bulova is unheard of???" They've been at it since 1875, six years before Seiko, dude!!
Great Vid Adam, you have some great taste in watches/time pieces. Your knowledge is seriously getting better and better by the ⌚. Thanks for sharing and I love Bulova. 💯
Just picked up my LP 96B258 metal bracelet model and I absolutely love it. Had no intentions of buying a Bulova until I stumbled across the Lunar Pilot.
Adam Great video down to earth , most of the population in the Earth are not rich to buy bling bling expensive watches . Normal people mostly buy brands you showed us in this video . I have seven watches ( Tissot titanium , citizen , Toywatch , Kronos, Dogma , Casio and Viceroy ) rather than buying one expensive watch I have 7 that's Great and you working with Michael but your this video shows your are down to Earth . Great video I love this Bulova which you bought enjoy ✌️
Great Adam. with this you prove that it does not always have to be a Rolex AP Cartier of 20K to fit in. But for 500>1000 there are also super nice top brands of watches. Not everyone is rich. But these are accessible to buy. for people who don't have 20K. Thanks Adam I already ordered mine in Europe, For 550 Euro with steel strap. The Bulova 96B258 Lunar Pilot 'Moon watch
I have to say excellent work Adam, love the producer Michael show but definitely your videos give a insight to more obtainable watchs and things that are more realisticly achievable for the average person , A1
I've heard of it...in fact I picked one up about 2 months ago lol. It's a bit big and I wish it was mechanical (although then it would have been too expensive), but I really do like it. I went with the other version, with the metal bracelet myself. Great watch. Sidenote actually, if yours didn't come with the little booklet regarding Bulova and the lunar missions, you can still get one if you reach out to Bulova directly via email. I bought my watch off Amazon and it only took an email and a serial number check for them to send one free of charge.
Couple of details that you missed with your story about David R. Scott. First before he strapped on his personal Bulova he called in to Houston (ie "Huston I have a problem") and asked permission to use his Bulova. Second since it was his personal watch, once back on earth, he actually kept it in a safe until he decided to have it auctioned in 2015 where it obtained a staggering $1, 625,000for it. As high as that seems, it's still far off from the highest price at auction ever obtained for a watch, $31.19 million for a Patek Philippe Grandmaster Chime 6300A-010 in 2019. Third, not to burst anyone's bubble, since I have the Bulova Lunar Pilot special edition (and L-O-V-E it) but the re-edition is inspired by the prototype that Col. Scott took to the moon with him and there are quite a few differences with it. Kudos to Bulova for paying attention and getting the idea for a re-issue but it is a modern take on the prototype using the specs that NASA had originally given for a space watch which even if they wanted an American Company represented as Bulova was US based at the time, Omega beat out all the other bids with the Speedmaster.
the seiko Turtle is not the successor of the SKX line. The SKX line is replaced by the new Seiko 5 line. Additionally, the 3rd ‘turtle’ he showed u was a land tortoise
Bulova have some fun items in what I believe they call an archive series. I bought the silver coloured Computron as a novelty. Enjoyed having it then sold again as never did find an occasion to wear it. That 50th looks snazzy. Perhaps I am off to find a local stockist here in the UK. The 50th could be a bit showy for me so Adam's choice might be the one. In the meantime enjoy the new watch. Thank you.
I love my Lunar Pilot. I got the shiny one with the old-style Bulova logo. No date, alas. I like the distinctive pushers and the case shape. And the sunken index track and subdials look great.
Hey Adam, thank you for an excellent video. The tour of the shop was very interesting, and Ivan just knows so much and is such a nice guy. I am in Australia, so I bought from over here, but I bought the exact same watch as you. Isn't it funny, I was considering the MoonSwatch and things have led me down the path to the Bulova. I have a funny feeling that the Bulova, which actually has been to space, will last a hell of a lot longer than the Swatch, is so very much more accurate - at 10-15 secs per ANNUM, can be repaired should the need ever arise, and is not that much more expensive. I know that I have made the correct purchase. Thanks again for a very entertaining video. Cheers mate.
Appreciate the video. I started my collection with bulova Accu-Swiss collection and worked my way up!! Thanks Adam for showing that small brand watches!!
Adam great that you have done a review of watches at affordable prices , currently looking at a Tissot or Longines , good choice you've made may consider Bulova it looks smart

great video Adam I like the contrast you present with these watches especially the Bulova much more down to earth (moon) and affordable than the ones we are used to with Michael but to my mind look every part as great as some of those $100K tourbillons
hay Adam i got my Bulova 2 years ago due to the history of it. i love it . It kick started my collection. i got mine for £450 good value. side note its made in the USA
I just picked up your video by chance. I'm also looking for a Bulova, I wanted to buy the 50-year anniversary model but I'm like you: I prefer the original version with all its incredible history. I can't afford to have a Speedmaster, but I would still have a watch that went to the moon. A Frenchman who loves watches with a history !
Bulova makes a decent watch. I've bought my son several. He's got a few Rolex's as well (that I keep in the safe for special occasions) but he wears the others daily. Nice watches though.
@Nigel Molesworth LOL! You may be right. Fox/foxes, I get it. However, I think the correct plural form is Rolex watches, tbh. It's neither Rolex's or Rolexes.
Adam, this is a great one to own. Modern Bulova has a bad rap, but this one is a great watch with perks. Sweep seconds. Very accurate quartz. What you need to do now is send it off to get it re-lumed to vintage yellow markers/hands.
OK there is another version of this which is polished and does not have the date complication as per the original it is based on. Personally I think its the best one as it looks gorgeous which is why i bought it 😁
At 21:40. In the fall of 2023 I started seeing new versions of this watch at Bulova ADs. There is a polished stainless steel case version with black dial and link steel bracelet. There is also a white an blue dial version with steel link bracelet and leather strap.
Strictly speaking that is not a Nato strap Adam. Bulova originally tendered for the NASA programme but were unsuccessful. Omega won the tender but because of US procurement regulations which stated that government equipment had to be majority US produced, the watch case for the speedmaster was made by Hamilton. Also the NASA speedmasters were never sold because they were government property, and are still owned by NASA. Scott's Bulova was his own and not NASA property which meant it could be sold.
Very interesting, I've never head that the original NASA speedmaster cases were made by Hamilton. Do you have a link with some evidence of this ? I'd like to look into that .

They are all very good watches and I love the one I have
Tissot are class. Super well made Swiss watches.
The watch seller doesn’t know about that Tissot Seastar 2000. He said automatic 200 meter water resist. The 2000 stands for 2000 feet water resist, equals to 660 meter.
Then he said made by Omega when Tissot helped omega get on there feet.
Never heard of?Lol,its one of the most known models.
Glad you’re well read on your watches!
Only well known in the watch community.
@@ohno316 never say never my friend. Stay safe and positive! 👍
@@hockingham7160 could say that about any watch other than a Rolex
@@AdamSwords Dam so rude of the guy not everyone is a watch nerd.
Love this watch. Just wish it were a tad smaller
Good choice Adam..I bought the exact same one years ago and wear it exclusively with the Velcro Nato also I still think it's the coolest and most true to the original with exceptional accuracy 😎👍
Yup!!
I got the same watch on Amazon for $550 👍🏼👍🏼 Great watch!
Awesome!
They nailed the 2021 presage series. Great little shop with quality watches for normal people
Agreed!
Glad you’re enjoying!
For sure!
@@AdamSwords Have you had a look at the Sinn U1? I would love to see your reaction/review of it. It made out of Uboat steel.
@@ddaydingo7041 yeah it looks like a Lego watch lol but Sinn is quality
@@darrenfry4695 That’s true! Never thought about it. Lego is awesome and Sinn is quality. Nevertheless, Adam is obviously missing out on a lot of amazing brands.
Just ordered one…so liked the history as well as the watch, thanks for the review…you just cost me in the uk…cheers Adam, looking forward to receiving my watch in 3 days.
Haha awesome!
Received today…so impressed with build quality and looks…nice big watch…thanks
I got this watch last week and have been loving it!! Such a fun piece.
Awesome!
Nice watches! I totally agree about not having to spend too much to get a watch that is both good quality, and a pleasure to wear. I have a Tissot v8 that i really like.
👍🏻
I have a bulova and everyone thinks it’s ridiculously expensive. Great watch. Great value. Gorgeous
I have my grandfathers 1964 Accutron. He was a watchmaker and wore it every day.
It's a well known watch in the watch community. I have this watch in the first edition sandblasted finish with commemorative box and two straps (one NATO strap and one carbon fiber strap included in the set). Basically the same watch that you got. It's a nice watch but slightly bigger for my wrist.
Never heard of? That is a bold statement bro.
Adam go to new York empire state building and visit the Bulova museum and see the real deal moon memorabilia the museum is run by Bulova enthusiasts .
This is excellent Adam, I love your videos of expensive watches with Michael, but this is much more realistic for most people and proves that price isn't everything, these are still real quality watches that look fantastic, that watch you bought is stunning 👍
Best wishes from Dronfield nr Sheffield UK
That first Tissot must've been hard to resist! I'm putting that on my list for sure.
Really enjoyed this Adam, good craic. 👍
@@ziplepingouin1186 Just what I was thinking.
He's a salesman, not an aficionado. I never listen to salespeople. I've been known to research dumb shit they say right in front of them and then tell them they are full of shit. All because what they told me sounded so outlandish. Never trust the salesperson.....never.
More of this content! Love how you bring up different, not so hyped brands to your channel!
Glad you like it!
Just purchased that watch yesterday for an amazing price. So stoked. Keep up the great vids man
Congrats!
US$375.
I didn’t :)
I got my first bulova watch two weeks ago and I love it 😃👌
As much as I love Michael’s videos it was so nice to see so many beautiful watches I could actually afford. I have known of Bulova for years but never seen one that impressed me until today. I hope they have them in Australia at a reasonable price. Nice work Adam. Keep it up.
Onya mate.
Cheers mate!
Fellow Aussie here. Starbuy in Sydney is selling these and they’re generously discounted at the moment. I picked up the stainless steel version with nato strap for $399 - free postage. If you want the fancy box and extra strap it’s $499.
I bought my 50th Anniversary bulova moonwatch at kohls for a little over 300! Had it for a couple years and love it!
Very nice!
Big respect for buying the closest with the NASA short strap!!
Nice!
Adam
Great video down to earth , most of the population in the Earth are not rich to buy bling bling expensive watches .
Great video I love this Bulova which you bought enjoy
✌️
I have this watch on the metal bracelet. I absolutely love it!
I was today-years old when I learned about Anonimo. Thank you.
Video starts at 17:59
Great Adam. with this you prove that it does not always have to be a Rolex AP Cartier of 20K to fit in.
Great watch, saw this video and went out and bought one. It's a great discovery and love the story behind it.
Awesome facts!!
$695 ? These were $350 two years ago when I got mine, and it has the metal bracelet! Somebody has a nice markup.
Adam what size is your wrist, I have 7.5 inch and I’m looking to buy this watch 😃
the seiko Turtle is not the successor of the SKX line. The SKX line is replaced by the new Seiko 5 line. Additionally, the 3rd ‘turtle’ he showed u was a land tortoise
Corerct! I cringed when I heard that. The SRP777 is the ONLY tribute to the original 6309's.
I prefer my Steel Bracelet Lunar Pilot over my MK1 1983 Rolex Sub Bicolour. Great watch.
really love the way your videos and the videos on the pm channel are spaced out now. Keep it up Adam, brilliant watch.
Cheers mate!
Hi Adam. This was one of your better episodes. Great content well delivered. Well done 😀
Thank you for bringing this watch to me. Iv now got one and love it. Love the story behind it. Thanks 👍
Great video dude congrats on the new watch! Really like the Seiko’s! I’ve got a few in my collection, I’ve been fortunate enough to purchase my first Rolex this year! Keep up the amazing work Adam👍🏼
Thanks Josh!
great video Adam I like the contrast you present with these watches especially the Bulova much more down to earth (moon) and affordable than the ones we are used to with Michael but to my mind look every part as great as some of those $100K tourbillons
Got the same one but on a metal bracelett. Wear it with joy my friend!
I have the metal bracelet on order ;)
Just bought a NIB Lunar Pilot with the bracelet for $375... With tax/ shipping $432... Can't wait for it to arrive...
Congrats!
Cool video, I’m a watch guy and you rarely see a video like this that shows what the watch looks like without all the fancy lighting and angles
hay Adam i got my Bulova 2 years ago due to the history of it. i love it . It kick started my collection. i got mine for £450 good value. side note its made in the USA
Oh that’s cool :)
Great watches I have just purchased a bulova skeleton gun metal watch it's now my favourite of my collection
Good to see you getting deeper in to watch collecting Adam, that's what it's all about😁
Great Episode Adam - Amazing choice of watch. Bulova is a great brand with fantastic history, I have the limited edition version and I love it 👌
ADAM i AGREE THEY DONT NEED TO BREAK THE BANK. GREAT SHOW
Thanks!
Bulova makes a decent watch. I've bought my son several. He's got a few Rolex's as well (that I keep in the safe for special occasions) but he wears the others daily. Nice watches though.
Awesome
@Nigel Molesworth LOL! You may be right. Fox/foxes, I get it. However, I think the correct plural form is Rolex watches, tbh. It's neither Rolex's or Rolexes.
Adam, this is a great one to own. Modern Bulova has a bad rap, but this one is a great watch with perks. Sweep seconds. Very accurate quartz. What you need to do now is send it off to get it re-lumed to vintage yellow markers/hands.
That would be lovely!
OK there is another version of this which is polished and does not have the date complication as per the original it is based on. Personally I think its the best one as it looks gorgeous which is why i bought it 😁
Yup!
Version 1 (96A225)
Cracking watch. I rock mine on a Kizzi NASA strap for a more “authentic” vibe. 👍🏻
At 21:40. In the fall of 2023 I started seeing new versions of this watch at Bulova ADs. There is a polished stainless steel case version with black dial and link steel bracelet. There is also a white an blue dial version with steel link bracelet and leather strap.
As close to the original? Why didn’t you get the version without date, the special edition? It’s as close as it’s gets, absolutely stunning 😍
I have the no date version. Unfortunately it doesn’t come with the Velcro strap. I’d love to get one of these straps for my no date lunar pilot
Good choice I'm thinking of pulling the trigger on one of these myself. Really robust. It should serve you well.
Do it!
Beth Harmon wore a Bulova given by her mother in The Queen's Gambit
