DRZ 400 Speedometer / Dash Cluster replacement

  • Replacing the failed sensor for the speedometer drive assembly...ultimately used an aftermarket analog dial instead. Save $500.00 - the aftermarket dial cost me about $30.00 on Amazon.
    It is not possible to find the drive assembly online, so you need to buy the entire dash - not cool Suzuki...anyways - hope this helps.

    Analog speedometer looks great, much better than the OEM digital.

    Could you put a "nut" on the speedo cable connection, that limits the speedo cable from over inserting and displacing the encoder from its ideal position? Would be similar to what the usually done with nuts to adjust the position of clutch and brake cables.

      Well, two issues: to try that I would a) need another unit that doesn't have the slippage in the wheel and b) the cable needs to be fully seated or it doesn't catch the lower assembly properly. I think I will try this fix and see if it works out for now.
