Just figured out my stator is bad from your tip of unplugging the battery while the bikes on! Bike died as soon as I disconnected the battery. Stator and rectifier were both replaced by the guy I bought the bike from. Bought from Amazon…
I am not good at wiring, I have worked on engines since the 70's and never could track down electrical problems . but I guess installing a new part wouldn't be too bad though.
Yep I call my garage the "bolt-on garage" at times because I don't fix a lot, but I can bolt-on a replacement like a champ! haha! Thank you for watching!
I can't figure out how to connect the wiring that comes out of the stator to the rest of the wiring harness. The wire you showed works but the other wire I can't figure out how it fits from what I can tell i have the correct wires.
Ik this is two years late lol but I have a burning smell from my drz... I had to replace my battery because the original was 8 years old and finally died lol anyway when I installed it and road the bike a couple times throughout the day the new battery died! So judging by your stater and that burning and the burning I’m smelling I’m guessing mine needs changing because it’s obviously not charging the new battery... great vid ✌🏻🇨🇦
Is this the reason why bike bike wont start and keep running? Ive charge my battery but i guess i killed the battery by trying to start the bike and i heard clicking noises as if the battery dead??
When going through the woods and tall grass it will keep it from getting wedge between the motor and brake pedal causing it to lock. Also in the event you go down the brake won't get caught and bend outward causing it to be un useable. Thanks for watching!

I’m having issues with my bike and am gonna put a stator on mine to eliminate that as a problem my question is after 3 years is this stator still working ?

I’m having an issue where the bike runs for 5 minutes then dies let it cool down about ten minutes and it runs again people are saying coil , cdi, and stator could be the issue I’m probably just gonna replace all three! It’s a 2006 in perfect shape with 13000 miles I think it’s worth fixing !
@@calehuntfpv480 yea sounds like the regulator which is on the outside and easily replaceable. But it won't hurt to replace the stator for peace of mind. If you do the stator make sure to do the "loctitie fix" so you won't have other issues down the road.
Hey Hey, I have aDRX400, kickstart only bike. I just tested my stator and it came out to be the issue. Ordered a Ricky thanks to you! Wondering, what tool you are using to remove the stator from the actual case? It looks like a pentagon shape inside the bolt thingy. I need to run to Lowes or Home Depot ASAP! I want to get this closed up!
They are called Allen wrenches. They come in Metric and SAE sizes. Might as well get both set if you can so you have them for future projects! Thanks for watching!

Is the stators rated in amps. My ATV is 35 amps. Be nice if you could measure all the accessories on it and test the draw. Disconnecting a late model car battery terminal while running may get ya a trip to the dealer hahaha . Nice fix buddy
I'm not positive how to convert it to amps to be honest. I'm actually drawing less than a stock bike since I changed everything over to LED lol. So the bigger stator is really just future proofing it. Yea I'm old school and don't have anything late model. I just don't like the new stuff. I may try to look into testing the draw on the accessories. Would be a great thing for me to learn. Everything I did in the vid I learned on youtube. No you could almost watch any video and it would be somewhat the same. With the DRZ and the stator I link it will be plug and play. Basically taking the old on out is the hardest part since the cover is one big magnet that you need to pry off. Just don't mar the edges with a screwdriver prying and take your time. Will go back together in the reverse order of you removing it.
Ricky and all those other cheap brands that you are mentioning are junk.wwhen it comes to electronics original made in Japan stuff is the best and last the longest! One reason why it is so expensive. surprisingly how many people do not know that including yourself. Cheap is not good and good is not cheap plain and simple.

i had the same problem i checked and found a damaged cdi regulator stator. it was all the fault of the damaged startor

Stator test on multimeter is showing no resistance on all 3 pins. Regulator showing 2.5 resistance on all 3 . Is this correct Many thanks Pete

My drz 400 dies after 5 seconds, (i serviced carb before this) light flickers and throttle is bogging.... is it rectifier?

yes! rolled 28,000 miles and still charging at over 14 volts! Well worth it to take a look before it fails. Thanks for watching!

What does a brake snake do?

Hope you also put some locktite on those 3 stator bolts and the few other place check for few videos on TH-cam for locktite drz Good luck

Nope not anymore than the actual seat covering it.
My DRZ400e started backfiring and died and the battery was flat a little after im a try the stator she idles perfect but dies under load power is cut
20,500 miles before my 09 stator died.I am wondering what kind of mileage most people get out of them?

On th drz where did you end up putting the power blok on it?
I installed the Fuze Block under the seat on top of the air box. Didn't block air flow to the air box and keeps it dry as well. Thanks for watching!
