  • In this video, I'll be rebuilding the LEGO® Technic 42140 Transformation Vehicle and comparing the LEGO® Technic Power Functions L-Motor with the LEGO® Powered UP Motor. See for yourself why you shouldn't write off the old LEGO® Technic Power Functions just yet.

Hi, I don't know what to think about this test. Is the PUP slower due to underexploitation of torque?
Because power = torque x rotation speed, PUP should be 10% more powerful xith appropriate gearing.
    Thanks for the video!

Hello, this test is actually intended to compare 2 engines in their basic form. Of course you're right and you can change the speed and torque by translating with gears. Greetings LiveYourBricks.

    Great tests!
Do you have any ideas how to make PowerUp a bit faster?
Looks like typical rechargeable solution is to use 6xAA 1.2V nimh from IKEA, but it is so slow… 1.5 lithium and 1.7nizn look better, but much more expensive, not so reliable and capacity is usually low.

I use a functional lipo battery with 11.1 volts for power, works without any problems. I have several videos on my channel. I haven't tried powered up yet, but I can imagine that it will work. If you take out the batteries you will see 2 contacts plus and minus. you can try connecting the LiPo with 11.1 volts there. But as I said, no guarantee because I haven't tried it yet. If I have time, I'll try it out and make a video about it. Greetings LiveYourBricks.

@@LiveYourBricks I wish to have more experience with such staff. In general I understand an idea, but implementation (all this cable work) looks too challenging for me :(

@@antonm030481Yes, you're right, the cables are annoying. When I have time, I will solder a circuit board that contains all the components and saves me this mess of cables. greeting
