I love Dame Edna. Thanks for your reaction Rory. KD Lang is priceless in this and so gracious. Her laugh is infectious.
Fantastic , K . D . Lang 😂 👍🤗🤣
You missed their duet; I'm every woman!!
Great show!
kd gets it because Canadian homegrown comedy is more British than Yank.
Dame Edna Everage was a character portrayed by the late, great Australian comedian Barry Humphries. Another of his characters, Sir Les Patterson, is worth checking out! 👏🏻
Loved Dame Edna ❤
Hello from kds home town Alberta!
Dame Edna is Barry Humphries from Australia. This interview is hilarious.
Commonwealth countries get British humour . Its in our DNA .
Thanks for getting to this suggestion. Dame Edna is super funny. Also love KD.
Barry Humphries 😂😂😂😂😂😂🇦🇺👏🤣
Everybody expecting Dame Edna to drop the L-word to K. D.
That was something I wouldn't have watched on my own. Glad to see it. Very funny.
WOWWW!!
I. ADORE. EVERYTHING ABOUT K.D…
I’ve seen other interviews with her, but NEVER this one.
THANK YOU, Rory!!
(And, OMG… I’d give ANYTHING to find an old copy of that Vanity Fair w K.D. on the cover!!)
P.S. It took me awhile to realize that it’s Donald Trump’s ex-wife sitting next to K.D… what an odd mixture of a group!😄)
ROIP Barry Comedy genius.
Generally, Canadians have a very "British" sense of humour...at least where I'm from. (Victoria, BC)
The moment you said Coronation Street, I could hear the horns playing that melancholy opening music.
I like to explain - both to my British and to my American friends - that [English] Canada generally lies halfway between the US and the UK in most things (from politics to language/pronunciation to humour, etc.).
Canadians actually played a crucial role in post-war planning (between 1943 and 1946), oftentimes serving as a bridge between the Brits and the Americans in establishing the world legal, political, and economic order that too many populist authoritarians and socialists have delighted in dismantling in recent years ... but I digress.
Canadians are just as over-represented in professional comedy as they have been in music. A lot of our humour has had a Scottish sensibility, as Scotts were considerably over-represented in migration to Canada (as well as working in British colonies). In a nutshell, we like to serve our humour dry, with a side of absurdity.
American humour generally isn't subtle, unless it turns out that it's being performed by Canadians who have blended into US society like a funny fifth column.
Paul O'Grady was Lily Savage.
Edit: Some Shooting Stars would be fun. Reeves & Mortimer are two of the greats.
Yeah, we don't have TV shows like that anymore...Well, except for Graham Norton, Jonathan Ross, Alan Carr, Steve Coogan...
No no no and no
Barry Humphries as Dame Edna was colossal. I think it was the '80s .... Funnel Web Spider tart and Nivea Chocolates
Paul O'Grady's drag name was Lily Savage
Hi Rory...How is Nala doing after her little fight? Another comedian who was a big hit here in Australia was your brilliant Kenny Everett..... He was my absolute favourite in the 80's.🙃
Nala is all good, still fully nuts 😂😂😂 but she is good 👍
the blond was Donald Trump' s first wife. lol
