    Tangerine Lite Tackle for me and Citrus Ultra Lite Tackle for her, kids (, and me). We love em'!
    Great video, simple yet informative. You sold me on it before this video, this is something I've been eager to see to get Crescent and the Tackle-series of kayaks out there more. Keep it up guys, you're doing it right and leading by example!

    My wife and I have an ink ultra lite and the litetackle in sand. Both are awesome on the water, the litetackle is surprisingly easy to maneuver. We love the open deck/no center console, it’s a great feature if you want to stand up or if you like to take your dog.

    Great explanation of why the hull is designed the way it is and how it benefits the paddler!!!

    This kayak is truly a joy to paddle:) It really is like the difference in a regular passenger car and a Porsche/Corvette when comparing to most "Stable" kayaks out there. I have & love the Jackson Coosa, which is the reason this one caught my eye.. I love the way that this Crescent and the Coosa have similar rockered profile. A rockered profile makes quick turns second nature. This Crescent does track way better and is much easier to paddle upstream due to staying straight at each paddle stroke. I love both of these and don't feel in my circumstances that I want to part with either of these crafts. The fact that these two have differences, is the reason that I want both. Variety is the spice of life!! The Crescent is priced much more attractively and it is a very high quality built craft. In other words; It's not just a good craft for the money, it's an exceptional craft at any kayak price point. It's definitely welcomed in my quiver of yaks.. Thanks for explaining the hull design in great detail. I feel this is an area that is overlooked by most people and is of the greatest importance. Thanks for this creation!!

      John, thanks for an excellent, thought out review and comparison! A lot of times people say what a kayak can do but it is important to us as well to show the capabilities through the design (hull specifically).

    Why am I just now seeing this kayak! LOL Headwater, did a review led me here. Awesome! What... tolling motor mount? I love that will hold 8' solid rods! plenty of mount options.

    This boat has all the features I'm after. I'm a big guy that weighs 390 pounds, 5'8", big belly. I'm overweight, but active...former football and lacrosse player. Sorry for the details, but I want to create an idea of my build.
    My current kayak is a nucanoe frontier 12. Great kayak - well built, super stable, clean and open deck. However, it is a bear to paddle. Hence I'm after a high weight capacity SOT kayak that's narrower the my Frontier and faster to paddle. Enter the Litetackle...
    I see a weight capacity of 450 pounds. While my weight is below this capacity, I'm concerned I'll experience a decline in performance. The Frontier is 650 pounds in capacity, so there's more available buoyancy for my size.
    Any thoughts?

    • @crescent-kayaks
      @crescent-kayaks  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hey Matthew, the best thing to do is contact your closest dealer to see about scheduling a demo. The LiteTackle and CK1 Venture should work well for you in terms of stability, capacity, and paddleability. That being said, every paddler is as unique as the waterways they paddle. Check out the dealer locator on our site to find one closest to you: www.crescentkayaks.com/dealer-locator/

    Are you guys looking at having a hatch cover with notches that match the two notches in the hull at the back of the hatch? This looks like it would work well as a rod stager

    • @crescent-kayaks
      @crescent-kayaks  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hey Carson, we currently do not have any plans to modify the hatch designs, but the notches at the back of the hatch/front of the cockpit are molded-in rod stagers. For more functionality, we highly recommend installing a YakAttack Bullwinkle. Our Director of Specialized Fishing, Drew Gregory, swears by them.

      @@crescent-kayaks I'm curious about the front hatch design. A tray design would allow better "on top" stowing and hinges would be better to access from the cockpit. That top goes overboard and you have a problem.

    How is the speed and glide on this kayak? I'm in a cuda 12 right now and has great speed and ease of keeping it's glide while paddling. I know they say the wider the boat the slower and more effort to paddle it. My cuda is 31" wide compared to this one at 34"

      We put a lot of thought into the hull design of this boat with a major focus on the quality of paddling. In our opinion, it's the best boat in its class ;).
      Check out this vid from Headwaters Kayak for a third-party review on the paddling performance: th-cam.com/video/wc2f7xglcEI/w-d-xo.html
      We always suggest giving a boat a test ride to make sure it's the perfect fit for you. Check out our dealer locator to find a boat near you:

    Hey man, good vid, and awesome looking yak, couple things though... the holes in hull for the deck support and rigid structure.... do those not affect performance? Do they not cause drag? Also a lil worried about them as several kayaks have had issues with scupper holes cracking and well... the more there are the more I worry about having issues with that. So, what's the warranty like? If I ever had an issue like that would you do good on it? And finally, is it a good durable HDPE that will hold up and last well? Or is it softer like some others that age quicker?

      With scupper plugs you're looking at 500lbs weight cap.
