    I would install the anchor wizard on the back so you face down stream , when anchored, but it is preferance. You would still then have your handle to tote your kayak. Just sayin' great video!

    • @Itchin2Fish
      @Itchin2Fish  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      I thought about that actually. Especially with it having two handles in the back, then installing a anchor trolley to have different anchor positions especially on lakes. Loved the Bonafide. I will be purchasing another one in the future. I only got rid of it because it took a beating. I fish a lot of rivers and creeks and the bottom was getting ate up. I sold it while I could before it didn’t look well enough to sale. I wanted to try out the Lite tackle. I miss the EX123. Best sit in you can buy to be honest with you. Gear space, tracking, stability in it is awesome. You won’t be disappointed. Just don’t drag it on concrete or hit a lot of rocks in it and it will last for 10 years. 😂 I still had life on it, but wanted a do over after learning what’s too low to float down here on the creeks. All these creeks are rain driven mostly and I don’t wait for the rain most of the time. 😂. Also wanted to try out something new, plus with my bad shoulder, I wanted to switch to a sit on top just in case I capsize I could flip the boat over easier with out having to drag it out of the water etc. the EX 123 is one of the best sit ins, missing it already especially it being so light and easy to car top.

    • @Itchin2Fish
      @Itchin2Fish  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I too car top and it’s manageable. Sometimes it can be challenging especially when my arms are fatigued from paddling, but once you figure out a good way to lift it or slide it onto your car it does get easier. Movers blanket is great or something like that to lay on trunk/hood to slide helps. They also make the rear glass suction rower assist thing where you place the nose of your kayak on then lift and push the rear of your kayak onto your car, same concept as the blanket but less rubbing. Most of the time I just lift it parallel to the side of the doors high enough and place it on its side allowing it to row over slow and easy on its bottom. Tight lines!

    I've been trying to figure out how to mount the Boondock landing gear to my cresent lite tackle. Any ideas on that. Or what wheels do you use on yours?

    • @Itchin2Fish
      @Itchin2Fish  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      My first place to try would be on the rear tank gear tracks in order to save from placing any new holes in my kayak. If that doesn’t work then you could remove the gear tracks, try using the same holes on part of it, then buy two new shorter gear tracks for the remaining holes. The best spot would be right behind the seat on that thick flat part. You would have to remove the two might mounts and fill in the holes with plastic weld or just some waterproof sealent. You don’t have a hatch to access that area for the backing bracket, so you would have to do the string method from the front hatch and run the bracket down the string, holding it on one hole and screwing a bolt in the other.

    • @Itchin2Fish
      @Itchin2Fish  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Awesome! Great minds think alike. I always try to rub the kayak down in the water especially any scum lines before leaving just to keep them from drying in bad shape on the highway. Then I use Dawn when I get home with a soft brush for scrubbing. Any set in stains, I like to spray a dawn/water mix to the areas and let it set in. Usually that takes care of it when I wet and scrub it again. Anything staining, I like using a magic eraser. Also check into Starbrite on Amazon for deep cleaning and protectant. Thanks for watching

    • @Itchin2Fish
      @Itchin2Fish  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Here is my EX123 video.
      What is your question? They are both awesome and you can’t go wrong with either.
      Pros on EX123, stability, storage capacity is better for gear for camping, great tracking, lighter to lift and carry, fast! Great mounting options, but the huge negative is it doesn’t come with gear tracks, you would need to install these. Another negative is it’s a sit in and you will have to bail water occasionally with a sponge or bilge pump. If you capsize it will be a pain to drag to shore and drain.
      Pros on crescent lite tackle. Very stable, more mounting options especially with it having gear tracks already, great storage capacity but EX has more. It’s quick and tracks good, but not as good as the EX. You can eventually add a trolling motor to the Lite tackle, very challenging to do so on the EX. Sit on tops are more forgiving to beginners especially when you capsize because it won’t sink and you can flip over quickly and paddle again faster. Cons it heavier to lift and carry, slower than the EX.
      It depends on your needs and the water you are fishing mostly.

    What’s your preference for a fish finder these days? I saw one where you had the hook reveal, the one here seems to be a humminbird. I was thinking about those two and maybe the garmin striker vivid in 5” or 7”. Side scan worth getting or skipping?

    • @Itchin2Fish
      @Itchin2Fish  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      My all time favorite and the easiest to operate is the Raymarine Dragonfly Pro, if you can find one….
      Next best in my opinion is humminbird. Hummingbird is top of the line. Better picture and sonar across the board. A lot of the pros use hummingbird side scan. Lowrance is a lower quality model but cheaper in comparison to same price models. Not my opinion, there is actually research and forums on it. The one I have now is awesome and easy to use. Love side scan, but it’s a huge transducer. On my EX, I had a side scan but quickly returned it. The hook reveal was a cool model with the overlay, but you can’t beat the price and quality of a Hummingbird. Thanks for watching

      @@Itchin2Fish ok so if the transducer is big and the screens can be big, would I be better off shooting for a 5” without side scan in a Crescent LT? I was originally thinking the Lowrance with reveal feature because it seems the most automatic/simple for my first unit but if the Bird is better I’m game to try.
      I like the way you set yours up in the middle and plan to do that too.

      @@chefmatt6299 you could do a 7” in this same position without it being too big. It will help you see your screen better. I’m just cheap and wanted to save the money. If this kayak had a spot for a 12” side scan transducer then I would go with it, but installing on the side, it gets in the way for me unfortunately. You could install it through a scupper hole, but the keel would block the scan possibly

      @@Itchin2Fish Thank you so much for all of this information. That makes total sense to me. I think if I had like a hobie it would be a no brainer but between side scan needing me to be completely straight for an accurate reading (I've heard) and requiring a much bigger transducer, I think it makes sense to stick with downscan-vu-imaging.
