    I just got this exact one 2 weeks ago. Just finished modifying the trolling motor. Mounted the power control to the Minn Kota on the mount behind the seat and ran lines to the pedals with springs. Not so much for my feet as I just pull each line with my hands and the springs on the pedals keep tension. Everything can be removed for my shallow river trips. After using the UL for solo trips this is a definite upgrade.

    Nice too see you guys carrying the Crescent line of kayaks. Crescent kayaks are built like tanks and paddle efficiently due to hull design. So far happy with my ck1, tracks and holds a line but turns on a dime like the jackson coosa.

    Great overview. Do you think this could work for a one man throw in the bed of the truck and go to the lake for a quick afternoon trip? or is the craft too big that? Also do you this thing would be nice in flat water?

    Are you familiar with the Crescent Ultralite and Moken 10 Lite? I'm thinking about choosing between those two.

    • @tgcanoesandkayaks
      @tgcanoesandkayaks  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Ultralight is a easier to paddle also the frame seat is more comfortable, the Moken 10 lite has a higher carrying compacity if you need it and larger front storage hatch.

    Hello Alex how's it going man. That was a nice review of the Crescent kayak. That is a nice kayak man. Alex I have a question? I am right at 300 lbs right now do you think I should look at a different kayak for right now? I do not look 300 Ibs but the scale is saying that. I am planning on losing some more weight between now and summer time. It was a good video man thank you for sharing.

      Good day Mack, you can paddle the LiteTackle right now, once you start adding gear things may change. My experience so far is my body weight plus all my gear weight is about 315 lbs loaded on this kayak, however I do have a little bit of water in the cockpit.

    I own a Lite Tackle and wonder which of the Crescent kayaks is best in very shallow moving water? The one with the lowest draft. I would guess the CK1 or the Shoalie since they have a less pronounced keel. Or maybe the longer Crew? I’m 200 lbs by the way.

    • @duanetegrotenhuis8141
      @duanetegrotenhuis8141 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Steve, the Shoalie has proven to be a fine kayak on shallow, moving water for us (the South Llano and Lower Guad rivers) - 275# and 250# paddler weights. The CK1 would be a bit more maneuverable (shorter) and the Crew a bit less (longer). All should support your weight easily on shallow, moving water. They should draft similarly to the LT, but with more maneuverability.

    Great video! What are thoughts between the Crescent LT or CK1 and the Old Town Sportsman 106 or 120? I have narrowed my choices down between these two brands. I did see your video on the 106 and 120 as well. Great video! Thanks again!

    • @tgcanoesandkayaks
      @tgcanoesandkayaks  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Vastly different kayaks in hull design/performance. The sportsman 106/120 have the (double u hull) design which is great for initial stability, but lacks in secondary stability and maneuverable in rapids. The Crescent CK1/LiteTackle are more aggressive with pronounced rocker that gives better secondary stability, and better maneuverability. So if depends on what type of water you are paddling and what kinds of performance you desire. All are great in different ways though.

      Thank you. Most of my uses will be slow moving creeks/rivers and smaller lakes with no gas engine boats allowed so the water should be mostly calm. I’m looking at both brands this weekend. Looks like the cockpit area is larger on the Crescent models but I haven’t seen one in person yet. I have to travel close to 2 hours for the nearest dealer

    Hi their,
    I’m debating between the lite tackle and the ck1 I’m about 250 pounds and was wondering which kayak you think would suit me better?

    • @tgcanoesandkayaks
      @tgcanoesandkayaks  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      CK1 is a little more moving water friendly, while the LT has better tracking and speed on the flats. Ck1 is lighter at 60lbs vs LT 75lbs.
