Wow a Futurama guitar, I had one when I first started playing fifty nine years ago, I think it was called a "lucky seven" or "super seven" or something like that, but I've still got my old Watkins rapier 2 in fiesta red, and well done
Hi John, glad to hear you still have your Watkins Rapier🎸. If you want a treat checkout another one of our video's th-cam.com/video/b7WkiMGqCTA/w-d-xo.html This one has my matching Futurama bass too. Keep on pluckin' N&J.
@@NickandJane I think I might have made a mistake, in my previous comment I said "Futurama Lucky seven" but I think it was actually a "Rossetti" but I did have a Futurama 2, and I seem to remember it had a couple of quite large rocker switches for the pickups, if only I had kept them.
@@mikec3777 Hi Mike, I have a few guitars but none of the others sound so much like the 60's as this one, even if it is just plywood and plastic. Keep on pluckin' N&J🎸
Ah, a Futurama 11 Deluxe. I had the same model, in ice blue. Bought in 1964 for 33 guineas. My first electric guitar. I must say your one looks immaculate, did you restore it?
Terry Day Hi Terry - thanks. I 'rescued' it from a street market junk stall a few years ago. It had clearly been little used, even its original plastic cover was still in decent nick. All Nick did then was to give it a thorough, careful clean up and new strings. No major restoration needed. Shines up like new don't you think! All the best, Jane.
It certainly has scrubbed up well. I recently saw the exact guitar, for sale ( I think it was on e bay ) for £750 and it wasn't in any way near such good condition.
Hi Salvador, good question. In actual fact it is neither George or John, it is just the way I play the song when I am typically the only guitarist, so maybe a mix of both.
Good to see you playing the E7 at the 5th fret
Hi Mike, yea it's a great voicing and suits this song perfectly I think. Cheers N&J🎸
Great. Many thanks.
Thanks for the feedback Denis, glad you liked it. Cheers N&J🎸

@@johncarlo7395 Yes, they loved those big rocker switches - they used them on a number of models.

Interesting. Never heard of “pumping”. Been doing it for years. Didn’t know this dampening effect had a name. Good lesson!

Have you seen the matching bass on our Apache cover? I've had that since the 70's. It cost £7.50 from a 2nd hand shop ; )
