Growed beans all my life! Canned hundreds of jars! We eat a lot od beans ! I grew up on white half runners! Got lots of customers that like yhem too! We sell lots od pole blue lake neans! Rattle snake too, boy they make a lot of beans! I found Volunteer half runner beans from University of Tennessee. Going to give them a try! Mama never would let us pick beans when the dew was on them! She said that caused them to get rust on them the next picking! She learned that from my great grandma! I never have rust! I may try Green Blaze this time Ill ask my husband to order me some! My Hossenator tomatoes are really growing!
Beans are my go to plant in my garden. I plant the Royal Burgundy bush bean because I get large harvests with them. In 2021 I had an over abundance of green beans and put up 98 pints and I am almost through them.
Rattlesnake produces very well for me in Screven County, Georgia. My all time favorite for flavor is Kentucky Wonder. It does very well for me also. I planted Cherokee Yellow Wax this year also.
We added a little nitrogen fertilizer on our green beans before they started to bloom, only once and the increase in yields was amazing. The advice came from MI Gardener.
MI's technique really really works. Hit of urea as beans break ground and I get better production all season. Gold rush, rattle snake and Selma Zexter pole beans
Thank you for this! I've never been able to get beans down. Tomatoes? Yes. Potatoes? Yes peppers? No problem. Beans? I get 3 beans. As a south carolina native who just bought your beans, you guys are such a blessing!
Last year I had good yields with Blue Lake 274. this year, I also planted Hoss Landreth Stringless Bush Bean. So far good germination, waiting to see the yield.
I started growing bush green beans about two years ago. I will never not plant them in my garden! I can get a round early spring, early summer, and one in fall. They are soooo good! My favorites are the French fillet type. I’m trying pole beans in my new beds this year too. I have two 20’ beds with cattle panel trellis and my hope is that the beans will grow over the trellis and shade my tomatoes and peppers. I’m in 9a and yep…it gots HOT quick!
Green blaze last year did the absolute best for me in comparison to the other 7 varieties I had as well. Out of pole beans Rattlesnake is the best for me in south central kansas
I planted a whole bunch of Momentum from Ya’ll this season, I am confident they’ll do well here in my plot in W Central Fl. Everything I’ve bought from HOSS has been excellent with great germination!
Bush beans are great, but my back doesn't like them😢. We really enjoy Dragons tongue and the contender bean is prolific and grows well in hot weather. Shade cloth can also extend the season. We cook most of ours fresh. Green beans and bacon. Green beans with potatoes and onions..
In South central Texas, I have lots of leaf damage. Something was eating the leaves off our tomato, pepper, and green beans plants. I saw a grasshopper this morning. What's good to deter the grasshoppers?
Deterrent plants in the garden are helpful to keep grasshoppers away including cilantro and calendula You can use the below. Need to hit the early, hard and routinely with bug buster 2. growhoss.com/products/bug-buster-ii?_pos=2&_fid=f60168d97&_ss=c&variant=45579368890678

What's a good stringless string bean vs dry beans? Are all pole beans intended to be shelled and used as dry beans? Are all bush beans (fava beans) intended to be picked while green and used as string beans? Gets confusing.
I didn't know that pole beans are sensitive to hot weather. I like the taste of them the best. But i live in hot Florida, zone 9b. Can i grow them in our mild winter?
I'm disabled and I have my beans in pots. They're also sitting on the back w/ afternoon shade. Would it be better to grow them with afternoon sun? Mine are not growing any bigger than 2'. They are Roma II from Hoss. I may have done this wrong
Y'all ain't had good beans until you get those yellow wax beans. We mix them half and half with our bush beans when we cook them. They're extra good with bacon, onions, salt, pepper and butter too. I can eat my weight in them. I remember being a kid and having to do grocery bags full of beans. Then we'd blanch them and freeze them or can them in Mason Jars.
Do you have anything on zucchini plants ? the base of it gets real mushy. Seems like there’s a big maggot and they’re eating it. Is there anything I can do about it? Please let me know.
Could be a fungus or Blossom End Rot. Remove the damaged fruit. Be careful with inconsistent watering, soil pH that's too high or too low, disturbed roots, or lack of calcium in the soil.
I have an issue with the green blaze coming up. I got about 15% germ rate. Almost all the yellow wax I planted right beside them came up. Probably 95%. I can't imagine what I did wrong.
That is a loaded question. Attaching the Growing guide for review. Also if you contact customer support with your order number, we would be glad to send you another packet. growhoss.com/blogs/growing-guides/bean?_pos=1&_psq=+bean+growing&_ss=e&_v=1.0

Could you please make a video showing your canning process with the beans and potatoes? Thank you!
I sure will.
Beans are my go to plant in my garden. I plant the Royal Burgundy bush bean because I get large harvests with them. In 2021 I had an over abundance of green beans and put up 98 pints and I am almost through them.
I'm in NY. I can't be bothered putting up a trellis for pole beans, so I stick with bush beans.
I don't have space so I do combination of both. Get a few half runners in the batch!
I love growing the Burgundy Bush Beans. They always perform well for us.
Blue Lake, Jade and Roma are my go to green beans. 😊 no strings
I just put my Hoss Green Blaze Beans in today! I like that idea of putting some new potatoes in with them.
Blue Lake bush beans are popular here.
Rattlesnake produces very well for me in Screven County, Georgia. My all time favorite for flavor is Kentucky Wonder. It does very well for me also. I planted Cherokee Yellow Wax this year also.
Rattle snake and Selma Zexter heirloom are my fav, both are non stop producers. Great for shelly beans, cans good too
@@nolagirlhomestead love shelly 🫘 beans

I just set out three small rows one half runners one rattlesnake an one KY pole bean
You can add in SC for the Jade beans too! They are my absolute favorite bean I have grown so far. Super productive even into August/September.
Jade does better in the fall here in 9b.
Thanks to your picker in the back of this video. They have definitely filled many orders for me!
Great to hear!
I have good success with strike bush beans
WE LOVE THE ROMA BUSH BEAN, WE GROW THEM IN RAISED BEDS AND THEY DO WELL.
Thank you for this! I've never been able to get beans down. Tomatoes? Yes. Potatoes? Yes peppers? No problem. Beans? I get 3 beans. As a south carolina native who just bought your beans, you guys are such a blessing!
You are so welcome!
Last year I had good yields with Blue Lake 274. this year, I also planted Hoss Landreth Stringless Bush Bean. So far good germination, waiting to see the yield.
I do well with contender beans in coastal SC, but this year I am also trying the pole lima beans.
I like top crop!
Here in S. Florida we grown green beans starting in September/October through to spring.
The Jade bush bean does great here in Kentucky, they are prolific.
It gets hot in Alberta east of the Rockies, so we plant both bush and pole beans. Worst pest here? Rabbits.
The biggest pests I have in my garden are deer, groundhogs and raccoons.
Love the green blaze!

Good stuff
I live in the lower up and I love bush beans we grow in sand that all that the land is sand sand sand
Can we get Mrs Hoss’s canning recipe for the beans and potatoes please? 😊
We will do a video this spring for you all.
Potatoes and beans in the same canning jar? Yeah Baby! Where's my filet? 😋
I get hit with spider mites on my beans about mid summer.
Even in Virginia zone 7b bush beans don't do as well in the heat
Second summer planting doesn't produce well

Do you ever grow pole beans next to corn in the same row? I'm trying it this year for the first time.
No, have never tried it.

sure
Yes, I find I get better healthier bean plants in the fall than spring. Like tomatoes in 9b, green beans can't take 90F temps with humidity! 🥵

They need 6-8 hours of full sun
My daddy likes contender
