Welcome To The Basement" is a show about watching, discussing and having fun with movies. Matt choses the movie and Craig doesn't know what it is until the cameras start rolling, so none of the discussion or riffing is planned ahead of time.
Movie announced on facebook before every new episode. Get the movie and follow along. We do discuss the entire movie, including the ending, so if you want to avoid spoilers, watch the movie first.

I was on a bus, in the Pocono Mountains. We were all returning to a Last Comic Standing alum show. Alonso Boden was disappointing, but John Heffron was good.
The driver took a wrong turn and tried turning around, stopping just before driving off a 90' cliff. it was sponsored by Caesar's Pocono Palace, so we asked for compensation for nearly dying.
They gave us free drink comps...even though i don't consume alcohol. At that moment, I seriously though about it.

I love the fact that when Craig is discussing what's new in his life, his wife being pregnant is third on the list.

Yay congrats Craig! I like that Lorenzo has his 'wtf' face ready. Also, 'seen it' in Italian is 'visto' (but that literally means 'seen' so is iffy out of context. Or 'L'abbiamo visto' (we've seen it). I also like that your first words after your pregnancy announcement were, 'don't worry I can still do the show,' lol. Is Matt really that much like an angry boss?
I actually quite liked Rogue One and although I agree the characters were kind of hard to identify with; especially the two mains, to me it felt very much like a Star Wars world, and had a very Star Wars feel, which is what I enjoyed about it. It gave me nostalgia for the originals despite the story line being extremely different. I hadn't quite identified with everyone yet in A New Hope, so I had a similar feeling in this. I didn't feel the same way about the The Force Awakens as much (though I enjoyed that too), perhaps because the acting of the old guard imo was slightly contrived to me. (With the exception of Luke for obvious reasons). Moreover the film felt very 'new' and didn't capture that nostalgic feel as much as it could. That said, I also think Rogue One's weakness was the end; a lot of how they were doing what they were doing didn't make sense. Why would they ever put the CPU at the top of the tower? Why would they ever destroy the whole thing when they had pretty much beat the rebels? Etc.
Anyway here's to this season! Congrats again.

How they escape:
They run the bus until the petrol tank at the rear is empty, then all jump out. The bus with the gold still inside goes over the cliff, and is collected by the Mafia waiting at the bottom - and stealing it back was supposed to be the plot of the sequel.
I'm a little bit surprised you didn't mention this movie was remade in 2003 starring Mark Wahlberg, Edward Norton and Donald Sutherland among other well known actors. I like the original more but the remake isn't terrible which remakes often are.

I can't believe I missed this episode, and haven't watched it before now (Jun, 2023). The Italian Job was one those movies that made me sit up and pay more attention to films. And that ending is epic!
BTW - I completely agree with Craig, concerning Bryan Cranston ... I just don't see the love for his "dramatic" performances. In my opinion he has only every played one dramatic character: "The Actor, Bryan Cranston!" He is an amazing comic actor, though.
