- If you have an X-Shot Longshot by now, and if that Longshot has a crack in it's plunger tube. You have 2 options: Return it for a different one, OR upgrade the plunger tube to metal for longevity of the blaster. And while you're at it, get yourself an easy-swap barrel muzzle piece and extend your barrel with a kury barrel. Wanna do it in style? Get a WorkerMod metal bearing scar for even more accuracy.

I literally only subscribed because of this guys workspace. It drives me absolutely buggy. Yet it is memorable and reminds me that I've watched him before.

Don't forget to lubricate the plunger tube that could be the reason for the drastic decrease in fps
The 'studies' on nerf guns shooting 100fps and above show that ideal compression barrel length is 2/3 the volume of the plunged air. Based on this, the easy way to calculate 'ideal barrel length' (in cm) is to simply divide the plunge volume (cc) by 2. The plunge volume of the Xshot longshot is ~85.5cc, so your ideal barrel length is right around 43cm or just under 17". Any more length and performance will fall of dramatically. *shrug*
I may be missing something, but dividing you plugger volume by 2 will give you 1/2 which is less than 2/3.
Also, when calculating the volume you would need to subtract the volume that the barrell takes up inside the plunger tube first.
@@Windle_Poons Ideal barrel LENGTH (cm) can be calculated by dividing plunger VOLUME (cc) by 2. This is because barrel volume (cc) can be calculated as simply 1.31 (cm^2) * length (cm). That 1.31 comes from pi*r^2 as the radius of a compression barrel is 0.645cm.
So, if plunge VOLUME (cc) * 2/3 = ideal barrel VOLUME (cc), then plunge volume (cc) * 2/3 = 1.31 * ideal barrel LENGTH (cm). Simply to get plunge VOLUME / 1.96 = ideal barrel LENGTH. And since precision to the tenth of a millimeter will wash out with other factors, you can just use plunge volume divided by 2 to get ideal barrel length. Make sense? Let me know if I got something wrong there or if you don't see it.
Now, I originally read that the zuru Longshot plunge volume was ~85.5cc, and that is after subtracting the ~13cc occupied by the pass-through barrel. If the inner diameter is NOT 3.5cm and stroke length 10cm, then my calculation of the ideal barrel length for this particular blaster may be way off. Let me know your measurements and I will gladly edit the post/comment. :)

There is another screw located on the back half of the priming bar opposite side of all the other screws that allows you to take it apart and save the priming lock if you wanted to put it back in.
Other videos and research states that the higher the fps, the lower the degree of BCAR you should use. So only a blaster with around 100fps would use 10degree or more. Anything with over 150fps should use 5degree BCAR!
I put a knockout spring (K25) and shoots pretty well, just waiting on my barrel and talon claw spring! Oh boy!!!! Just need a chronograph!
Nice job. I just finished modding my own longshot today. Not as consistent as I would like I guess I should consider a replacement plunger tube. While beefing up the seals in the blaster I discovered theres an oring on a small collet where the barrel fits into the dartgate.
Yeah, I saw that too, may mess with the O rings right before Armageddon, but for now, it's hitting 281fps average. Lookout for the short tomorrow 👀

For a spring upgrade don’t buy a k25 just get a Max dictator spring and it slaps hard
Sweet mods. I got a 13" Kuryaka barrel, an sf25tc, and got a metal PT and collet from Frontline and a new foregrip and a Silly SCAR coming from OOD cause why not lol. Can't wait to work on it though I should really finish my Xing Shen Fire Phoenix and Mk3 mods. Just need a few more things for the Xing Shen. Was also digging through my stuff and noticed I abandoned modding a Fortnite flare for shorties. About 85% done it too. I hate when I lose interest in finishing mods like that lol.
Though I was doing the flare from just spare stuff I had. Real old school. No 3d printed kits or anything.

I have one and I’m planning some mod’s but I’m assuming it’s gonna have to be custom as I’m not aware of anything off the shelf that works. Except basic barrel and scar.

There’s chambered barrels and chamfering is just removing sharp edges! It’s kind of important to know which one is needed. Based on other reviews using kuryaka barrels I’m guessing the chambered barrel is needed.

Incorrect. A unchambered barrel for this as the pusher doesn't enter the barrel.
I’m pretty sure that Bcars don’t affect fps whatsoever but I could be wrong
I’m also pretty sure that 18 inch barrel was to long for it
i calculated mine with a liberator spring and some relubed internals, that it hits 160 fps
Lol chafers are at buffets chamfers are on barrels. Good video as always. Ive tried 18" barrels in a couple blasters and theyre just too long i believe for the air volume..fire phoenix and xshot lonshot.. had the fire phoenix tuned to like 210fps and put that longer barrel in and i havent broke 180 w anything since then. Very regrettting trying to improve on that 210 fps smh..

Are there cheaper scar attachments that i can get for this barrel? I look up some they all sat 16mm but the barrel is 13mm, unless im reading that wrong?
The regular orange worker scar is like $6-$8 on Amazon, it'll work just fine.

So by adding 11 coils of K25 we have a ≈250 fps blaster, by leaving the stock spring we have a ≈150 fps blaster... have you tried or heard about which spring we could swap in to have a
Hmmm maybe could cut the stock spring down a lil?

Haven't tried it, not sure it'd work with thecwayvthe spring/barrel setup is, since it's a bullpup

I designed 2 peinted spacers for this, and they work beautifully. one on each rest. there's at least 3 other people I know that use my design also.

Does this work with full length darts?
If you keep the original barrel instead, yes, but the kury barrels are made more for short darts

and FF has been known to bore their 13mm barrels off center. so definitely questionable QC over production runs from them as well.
