    Great reaction, you add to the experience without proverbially explaining how rainbows work... knowledge imparted without dispelling the wonder! Love your work, subbed

      I appreciate that, thanks! It's a tough balance to get right explaining stuff because not everyone is gonna want the same thing, great to know that this one struck a decent balance for you, cheers!

    That guitar must be brand new, the first song ever played on it, because if Tommy plays more than five songs on it, it will look like it has ten years of hard use. Nobody beats up a guitar like him.

    The sweep picking Tommy does at 2:30 is a variation on the Chet Atkins Superlick. Chet recorded that more than half a century ago, it's well known in fingerstyle circles. Richard Smith breaks it down here:

      Nice one! Good find, totally boggle my mind that Chet was ripping that up so long ago... but then again he will always be Mr. Guitar!

    Speaking of bluegrass/country music and banjos, dude! Haha, I'm loving this. That "Guitar Boogie" is named after Arthur "Guitar Boogie" Smith who composed the most famous banjo/guitar song in US history, called "Dueling Banjos". Not sure you're familiar with it, it's an instrumental, very very Americana, and rode the no. 1 spot in the pop charts for several weeks upon its release 50 years ago, and was easily one of my favorite songs of my childhood.
    I will pay for your reaction to it if you haven't heard it. Here's a link to the audio: th-cam.com/video/J6UG1Jlwiow/w-d-xo.html . There's also clips from the movie in which actors performed it. I think it was performed many times on stage by many different duos over the years, so should be videos of those. I can search.

      I don't know that song, but it's on my list to check out- also cheer for that info, never knew where it came from! Despite hearing various player's do their own 'Boogie'. Cheers, will copy that link!

      Tommy got his first guitar aged 4. I vaguely remember from his This Is Your Life, his brothers complained as when all little he was tapping out noises/ beats in bed lol, Tommy never had a formal lesson, from memory whole family played, their father took them touring as young kids in New South Wales. Must watch vid on TH-cam again, so interesting and funny, a close family.

    BTW - you think he’s good on stage, but you should see him warm up before a show. I worked for him for a few years and his warm-ups were freaky.

    I knew Tommy when he started out playing pub gigs here in Melbourne Australia and apart from his guitar playing more importantly he's a very sympathetic man!! His late brother Phil was a better electric player than Tommy if you want to download both playing..PS Tommy's real name is "WILLIAM THOMAS EMMANUEL"..LOVE YOUR SHOW BROTHER KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK..BY THE WAY IS "RELATIVE TUNING" WHEN I GET MY COUSIN TO TUNE MY GUITAR"?🤣🤣🤣

    This is relatively "easy" by a lot of his standards since he uses a pick and barely involves the rest of his right hand.

      Some part's aren't too tough, but consistently getting though the whole thing to this level is seriously difficult!

    It's an insult to the instrument for anyone to be holding a guitar while witnessing the GOAT. It's as fruitless as being surrounded by ten armed assassin's and picking up a stick off the ground.

    • @JbfMusicGuitar
      @JbfMusicGuitar  ปีที่แล้ว +4

      I'd rather a stick and have a pop, knowing I'd loose than just meekly give up
