  • Finally got around to talking about how I managed to run 11's on the stock tires with my 2016 Scat Pack. It's the little things that make a BIG difference.

      Thanks B....it's a little long winded, but had to concentrate on the idiots around me as well...lol. Hopefully it helps someone who is looking for that one missing piece of the puzzle to getting that 11 sec pass.

    Good video, thanks for taking the time..good info for track racing

      Your welcome, and hopefully it helps someone out who is trying to figure out what they need to do for that best pass. Hoping to make it back to Orlando this weekend, so more track footage to come. I'm planning on testing a different fuel mixture to see how the car reacts.

    I learned so much from this video holy shit. Subbed for sure! Love the paddle swap!

      Samuel Jackson Thanks much for the sub, and the paddles were a great swap. Factory ones are just too damn short/hard to reach. Hoping to finally make some new vids soon, once the new engine goes back together/in the car. Being a poor working stiff + broken 392 = long slow rebuild process..lol.

    I'm gonna have to try the mixing with race fuel. I never would've expected the engine to be tuned for 96-97 octane. The factory recommends 91

    Very informative....thanks. Have a 2019 scatpack widebody and gonna put in the hellcat lower airbox with the headlight tube. Did you also swap out the stock filter for the hellcat filter as well? It’s a little pricey, but the numbers suggest roughly 50% more airflow.

      Your welcome and nice car. If I wasn't neck deep in mine with the cammed/forged build, I had thought about either a widebody or 1320. I ran the HC filter in daily use, but no filter at the track. It made a difference over the stock paper filter...flow rate is 2x the stock unit.

    I will try the mixing of the gas next trip to the track. I have a 21 Challenger Scatpack Widebody and my best was 12.50 @ 108 with a 1.8 60 foot. And that was on M/T Street S/S. I got a long way to go. Which Air Density app do you use? Thank!!

    You need a mic bro. I've been seeing more and more Scats around town. Deuces

      Its weird how sometimes it picks up sounds with zero issues, other times it sounds muffled, even with the skeleton frame.. Then again, its an old Hero3 that's getting a little long in the tooth. I need to upgrade to at least a Hero4 with external mic.

    Check out BND Automotive Aces IV for racing and increased upper end lubricity, longer engine life, and saves you money. One oz per 6 gal 87 Octane increases to 96. Faithful user.

    How did u get the SRT Paddle shifters? Those aren't scat pack paddles lol

    • @lonnieaspinwall3862
      @lonnieaspinwall3862  7 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I bought the SRT paddle modules then swapped out just the paddles themselves. I did a vid on how to swap them out. It's fairly easy to do, and no messing around with air bag required.

    hey man good video. Do you recommend the diablo trinity T1000 or not? I have one that I got for free but am skeptical about using it in case it fries my computer!

      Gorgeous_Scat392 I'm actually going to use HP Tuners on my car once she's back running. A lot more data to look at, but also has access to some parameters that Diablo can't touch yet. I had a Trinity T2, as I originally planned on going Diablo, but like the interface of HP better. Reminds me of the Cobb Access Port software I used on my Ecoboost Mustang.

    Can i just let you borrow my car and do it? aha. I cannot beat a damn 12.69 and 4.5 0-60. do you just brake torque it or use the launch control? I'm doing a 1.8 60 foot. never have gone with good DA always seems to be 1300 or so. I got 315 contis on the back. Any tips?

    • @lonnieaspinwall3862
      @lonnieaspinwall3862  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      lol...its a balancing act for sure. Even with 1400 DA, you should be able to run low 12's, especially with 1.8 60ft. Two things to try....clear the pcm adaptives at the track and pull the air filter. Those two alone have been worth 2-3 tenths on my car.

      Lonnie Aspinwall remember what fuse it is?

    • @lonnieaspinwall3862
      @lonnieaspinwall3862  7 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      I went out and looked, and its a white 25 amp fuse, #31. It's labled engine module on the underside of the fuse box cover. #28 resets the transmission adaptives if you want to pull it as well.

      Lonnie Aspinwall what do you mean by pull the air filter? Remove it all together?

  • @declaratedvet

    Dude your running race gas and barely any gas at all at the track. Of course you should run faster

    • @lonnieaspinwall3862
      @lonnieaspinwall3862  7 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      Hey look, it's a hater...must be a 5.0 owner that got his ass drug by a Scat Pack...lol. For one thing, I'm not running straight race gas, especially not on a STOCK tune. If you actually pay attention to the video, I run a mixed fuel at a 4/1 ratio of 93 to 100/104. I also run with 1/2 tank of fuel due to the car working better traction wise. I tried more (slowed the car down due to weight), and less (lost ET due to wheel spin). Keep in mind, if you are paying attention again, this is on a stock tune....not tuned for race gas at all. I only use it to stabilize the octane, since we know 93 from one station may not actually be 93 at another. Oh, and last Friday she ran a 12.07 @ 115 in 1400DA with no race gas in the tank...a splash of E85 with 93 to see how she would respond. 1.79 60ft on street tires, stock tune, and a little wheel spin.

      Lonnie Aspinwall I drive a charger as well....

    • @lonnieaspinwall3862
      @lonnieaspinwall3862  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      The reply seemed like something I've gotten from salty 5.0 and Camaro owners in some of the other vids, so I ASSumed that's what you drove, sorry about that. Amazing how many hurt feelings this car generates, especially when I ran the 11's on stock 245 tires..lol. I've been experimenting with fuel mixtures to see how much it affects performance, one way or the other. But, the car does like roughly 95-96 octane best. She made 426 whp 424 tq on straight 93...temp was around 80* in the dyno room. I need to get her on the dyno in track trim to see how much , if any, it affects the numbers. If the trap speeds are any indication, she picks up a few ponies in track vs street trim. I have a Mopar cai with headlight tube on the way, so should be interesting to see how that changes things.

      Lonnie Aspinwall mopar intake for me made a positive difference. Sounds much better also felt slightly stronger

    • @lonnieaspinwall3862
      @lonnieaspinwall3862  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      I'm hoping it's a gain over the Hellcat lower box and tube I have now. If nothing else, that huge filter will allow more flow than the stock panel filter due to the increased surface area. If it runs similar mph/ET as my current setup with the filter removed, then win-win. Plus, it's Mopar parts...no hassle from the dealer about an "aftermarket" cai...lol.
