An expensive and quite complex restoration. Hope it lives up to expectations. Thanks Dominic for a fascinating tour with lots of technical information. 👍🇨🇾
I got the impression that this was more of a project where they gave something back to Cyprus as opposed to a moneymaker. bbf are a large company with lots of lucrative projects on the go. This to them seemed to be more of a way of contributing to the status of Cyprus. I know it sounds cliched to use a phrase like "give something back", but I was really impressed with their whole attitude. Right down to the film and the tour itself. They approached me to see if I wanted a tour. I said at the outset that they could view my finished film and article prior to publication in case there was anything they disagreed with, but they told me to make my film as I wanted and to send them a link when it was published.
19:51 "Should be a better view when we go upstairs" he says with a great view... "On a good day, today is not a great day" he says on a very decent day. We are truly blessed to be here. 20:04 - 20:33 The pride in his country and his work 💕
It is great to see what progress has been made and the extent of works being done to bring the hotel back to original looks. I videoed the hotel back in 2016 and noticed a lot of progress has been going on.
Ground floor fireplace flew at an angle, that's to allow a window to be placed between the columns on the next floor. Great to see the building as someone who did Building Studies at college
Not sure about all the extra building. It will be interesting to see how it turns out. Sounds as if it will have to be very expensive if it only has 30 rooms. Glad it’s not left abandoned anymore though.
Soon as he said building houses and flats, I thought 🙄. The hotel looks so nice poking out of the trees. Pass on a big thank you to BBF from your followers for allowing you into film and the information on the work done and to be done.....and of course a big thank you to yourself. It would be nice if they do allow you to make follow up videos on the progress and BBF/hotel owners could use some footage as a back story and promotional catch...... maybe I'm taking ball hooks 🤔😂
I asked him if they were going to have photovoltaic panels on the roof. This is a common feature of modern hotels, but isn't possible here because of the Listed status of the building.
Great video, Dominic!
You are more than welcome in a year to check the progress

Yes, to bbf I got the impression the project is more a labour of love.
Amazing

We did a virtual tour in 2020 and it has changed a huge amount since then.
Very interesting. Good to hear they are being environmentally responsible and sympathetic to the place.
Yes I was really impressed with their attitude.

Really interesting, thank you! What a great attitude and passion for the project ❤

Our pleasure!
What a place! Doubt I would be able to afford to stay though 😂
Start saving now and who knows?

7:48 I can't seem to catch the question that Dominic asked... anyone?

@@PaphosLife Ah, thanks. That's why he knew what you meant, I haven't heard of them.
@@Ad-Infinitum it's just a more accurate name for solar panels.
Great video, Dominic!

We will definitely want to do more films as the project progresses. It will be fascinating to see it evolve.
