Nice to see a positive review of this vehicle. I just hope the shaking/vibrating issue that keeps getting mentioned is not on ALL Honda CR-V's...Especially mine. I just bought one about two weeks ago...
Good review and testing. The hill test from a stand still shows the front wheels spinning and the rear was just dragging along. This is one of my main concerns with the revised CRV. I have seen this in other videos also. I am on my 3rd Honda sedan so I can validate the reliability of the product. Also owned a Honda snow blower that would not die. One drawback is the ground clearance, it is just 1" higher than my '08 Civic - ridiculous for an CUV if you have bad winters. I asked a Honda salesperson to provide me with material on the AWD system so that I can review how it works and estimate it's limitations. After a few reminders I have nothing still.
it looks like all reviewers have signed some kind of crazy agreement with honda. you can see all the real life uphill traction tests being close to a complete failure (as far as an awd system is concerned) but most of the reviewers say it's "ok". no it's not ok. if you pay for an awd you want to get an awd that can shift power to rear wheels. life is too short to be stuck on an icy hill with a crv, competitors have better awd systems.
kulminaator fully agree, this awd is weak... at least THIS reviewer did say he wish the power went to the rear wheels sooner, others like TFL or everymandriver in spite of obvious difficulties of this crv going up on difficult terrain just praise and dont critic... to now this guy Pritchard was the most critical so he is one of the fairest reviewer i've seen, he could of been more critical, but at least he was some.
Jo Loui If HONDA CRV engineers decide to add a AWD lock mode by a firmware update, as other manufacturers have implemented to their AWD cars with similar AWD systems (RAV4, Santa Fe, X-Trail, and Kia Sportage), e.g. when VSA off button is selected the AWD lock mode will be enabled, then Honda will rock. But I agree that Honda AWD is under performing due to the absence of a lock mode especially in low grip inclined tests, when stuck in sand or mud, or when driving uphill in snow.
its worst than that, the system can only send so much power to the back wheels, a lock with that system will never send 50% to the back, the power sent is very limited and cannot by itself propel the car on an inclined surface where the back wheels have to do the job (if the front wheels are per exemple on black ice and have no traction).
Does any SUV or CUV has a bump in the middle of the back seats. They're taller than sedans so there's enough room for the transmission to not interfere with the interior. Why do most car reviewers have to mention that every time?
Ed Berger If you live in a cold area like me, you're probably always using the AC when driving. That uses a lot of fuel, and I mean a lot, unless you drive on the freeway.

im also worried about the awd system...will probably buy an outlander over this just because of it

justunum i bought it new 7 months ago 2.0 petrol automatic and has no vibration issues... i also heart about it before buying...
The fuel consumption is more like 12 lt per 100k if yr lucky....This review seemed very biased..

+Ed Berger my V6 Crosstour doesn't even burn 12lt per 100...
