Hi Rachel! So glad you are back! I miss you when you are on hiatus, but you always come back with more creativity and expansion. Your stencils remind me of French curves. I used to do large patterns and designs for church decorations and used large and small French curves, which allow an artist to perfect and clean up their work. I love your old sock for cleaning up stylus’s! The transparency of your stencils so you can see how they must be placed plus seeing if they add the element you want to add before you mark you surface is very useful. Now to go back and watch the vid you posted 2 weeks ago! Oh! As for liner brushwork, look up car and truck striping. Those folks always amaze me!

Are you familiar with the quote: " A curved line is a line of beauty, a straight line is a line of duty"? When I think of creativity I think of the marriage of the masculine (duty - precision, etc.) and feminine (curved - flowing) and how they somehow meet. Giving birth isn't always pretty but it is always perfect! Thaniks, George
I've never heard that quote but I definitely see the truth in it. It's a beautiful way of looking at art. There does seem to be a duality between the precision and the flowing nature of art. I can't verbalize it, but my brain feels it! I love trying something new. Thanks for your comment!

I’m terrible with math and measurements. How do you know where exactly to put your first stencil on the paper so it is straight
You just look at the edges of the stencil and make sure there’s an equal margin of paper around the edge.
